- I Finally Beat The WORST Map In BTD6 / Bloons TD 6... I hope I'm not alone in believing that it doesn't get any worse than this X Factor map, with lanes constantly switching, an awkward middle section and simply no good (non infinite range) tower spots! But after years I've finally decided to face it head to head in this black border CHIMPS run...

Don’t knock the 023 super monkey. It’s not bad, it’s just situational, most of the time 203 is the better crosspath to go for.

The Bloons going under the monkeys is actually good map design. They are floating through the trenches, so the monkeys would technically be above the bloons
Except for the bigger blimps (ZOMG and BAD?). Those are definitely taller than the trench is deep.
So for those, they probably should be drawn on top.
But eh, that might be tricky to set up in the BTD6 engine; not worth up-ending code for a minor detail like that

@@tschaiga308 You would be surprised how tricky even simple sounding tasks can get.
Image if in the map data format, a track path segment can only have options of "always above monkeys" or "always below monkeys", and only those two choices, implemented as a dumb 'bool'. _I don't know if this is the case or not_ , this is just an example.
And that this assumption of only two choices propagates all the way up through the engine to the graphics rendering related code.
Then this "simple" task of only having bimps draw above monkeys becomes a huge effort to change the map definition format. And flow of path data that uses the old flag to now take a new data type, and accept three possibilties. Changing a huge number of method calls all the way from map code to the renderer.
Now this isn't a great example; in practice you would bundle this sort of thing in a data structure. So only the things that need read the "always on top" flag on a path segment need to, and only those places need to be updated.
But sometimes, you don't have the benefit of hindsight and neglect to do this, and now it is going to be very tricky (and more importantly, risky) to fix it.

Then it would draw on top since btd6 is in a 3d environment
@@TechSY730I’d agree but I know they have done different paths for Moab class balloons on other maps. So in this case, they should already know how to do this, and clearly thought to do so in some cases.
The reason I think the monkeys on top of the bloons is because the bloons look to be in a trenches. So I don't think it's a bug as it's an easy fix if it wasn't. It's just a weird feature

Yea, but it looks better only on the bloons, the blimps look scuffed
also if you check on this map on 3d, the monkeys are placed way higher than they look
- front and back constantly change
- 4 active tracks at once
- huge zone where bloons can’t be hit
- no straightaways
- tracks are completely separate, so you have to make two separate defenses or one really heavily divided one
- hard to predict the paths MOAB classes will take until they spawn
and this *still* isn’t in the hardest classification of maps?

This map broke my spirit so bad, I lost on Round 98 because a single yellow balloon snuck past a 20 Ninja setup and I didn't think to use Geraldo glue or spikes.

In my journey of doing every advanced map on chimps and I have not been able do this one. Well done man I might use this strat
I found out heli is exceptionally good on this map. The issue is you gotta micro the a prime to maximize the lazers if you wanna beat the 90s
You can just cruise through with geraldo snipers. No micro, no sweat
Geraldo and elite sniper + supply drop sniper spam is insane for most low difficulty maps

Gwendolin (for buffs) with Elite sniper, few bouncy bullets and carpet of spikes with buffs can easily beat this BB Chimps

Hilariously convenient that this is todays video. Despite constantly watching your videos, I stopped playing bloons for quite a while, and I only recently got back having become obsessed with beating this map on chimps without googling an easy solution. Since one just so conveniently dropped into my sub feed, i mean I guess I may as well watch XD
edit: incase anyone's curious, the solution i had been trying was 2 darts and a sniper into jungle druid, with Psi and ODS into a robomonkey/tech terror in the center, getting sky shredder and support... worked for impoppible

I am really glad to see other people hate this map too, whenever I played it, it always felt way harder than it should have been. The area in the middle too is also so misleading

I had used a guide for this map. Still hard as hell for me to complete.
Yeah, I've done ouch, geared and quad which are much harder, but they're kinda fun unlike x-factor
Who in their right mind would have thought that having a spot in the middle that you need to pay to be able to place monkeys in which the area surrounding it you can't even attack the bloons properly *was a good idea??*
also that weird bug of the blimps being under the towers which I will never be able to unsee
I know you weren't expecting an answer but the map was added with the dartling gunner iirc, so they definitely expected you to plop one there and go to town with it

i think it’s because the bloon path is sunken so the game places them lower even tho it doesn’t make much sense
@@BatmanIsBossAtMcI think the bloons are supposed to be in trenches, I can kinda get the Moab and Bfb going under the monkeys, but certainly don't think Zomgs and the Bad are supposed go under them

Ah yes, the Sniper Geraldo strategy and 0-2-3 Dark Knight on one of the hardest Advanced Maps in the game sure sounds fun! Thanks for trying out this difficult map with Snipers and Geraldo.
To me X-factor and Bazaar are two maps in this game that are seriously in the wrong difficulty category
Dark Castle too but that is easier than it looks

Far easier to do a 2 dart start, then add two snipers. After Geraldo I got 3 turrets then started discount village memes with occasional glue for some rush rounds, eventually getting elite defender on round 49-50. Elite def carries you (camo leads on 59 aside) until you can get elite sniper up around round 72, meanwhile add some alchs and the bunny paragon. Lategame I added maim moab, relentless glue, overclock and SS mortar.
Despite this map's reputation, I found this run much easier to engineer than, say, Erosion or Peninsula.
oh wow, i miss these kinds of videos. the ones where you can just hop onto a hard map that you havent completed in CHIMPS yet and just get a normal black border. idk when the last time youve made a video like this was.

When this map came out i just kept playing hard and trying to make it work with dartling, i thought this would be the dartling map, could not win for the life of me, felt so silly because it was "just an advanced map".
You could always go for the bottom path spike storm on a map like this. Not as many spikes wasted then.

My first boss clear ever opened up a dumb knight so I could start with multiple discount villages, and the dumb knight could chase the boss (Lych) around the boss to do his thing.

Isab did not read the comprehensive tier list for chimps, they stated 025 edef was strictly bad 😔
- 025 Elite Defender has good synergy with Permanent Brew but is way too overpriced for what it does.
- Geraldo’s items can also act like a mini permanent brew and make 025 barely viable.
Literally from the tierlist, doesn't say it's strictly bad and sounds pretty accurate to this video.

@@BirdGod Not sure what you're trying to say here, I haven't experimented much with Edef but again the tier list sounds correct and E sniper is better cleanup in my experience so this sounds true also. My only point was that you said the tier list described 025 as strictly bad which it doesn't.
I wouldnt mind a series where you go for completionist stuff in game.
All achievements or black borders etc
It was back when the game first came out so I don’t really remember the details, but this map was the only time I used a top path ninja strat. To start I think I had the free ninja at the right of the X with two snipers in the circles in the left bars of the X and put the ninja and shinobi army in the left part. Still don’t know what my problem with 5xx ninja is because I use the heck out of other ninjas in BTD6 and did in BTD5.
I cannot beat chimps on Ravine, Dark Dungeons, Bloody Puddles nor Sanctuary.
It would be good if you do some guides to beat some chimp maps
Did this map used to be easier? I got this black border well over a year ago (probably more). I remember hating it, but I've struggled more with several other non expert maps. I was shocked to see an isab video saying he finally beat this map.
It's easily the hardest non expert map. Are you sure you didn't use a guide to beat it?
This and the Clock one took me a lot to black border. Geraldo+snipers saves a lot.
dumb knight was crazy, but honestly I CANNOT get myself to BB this one. I'll let the experts take over until there is a good strat
Yesterday, I managed to get the black medal for Mesa in Chimps. The strategy for X-Factor seems to be very similar.
I’ve beaten X factor! It took me a while but I had a lot of fun doing it. Used a shinobi army with a grandmaster ninja strat. Plus Geraldo. But I still cannot get passed ouch round 40 :(

If you wondering why the towers appear on top of the bloons is because the Bloons are in trenches
You know the map sucks when ISAB has to use geraldo.
This is harder than simple pork chop with pan sauce
Sniper Geraldo got nerfed but i was still able to beat Bloody Puddles with it. Was my last black border.
Ive found using fewer bouncy bullets is better, usually I do x-5-x plus one more x-4-x and I make one or both top path depending on total composition.
If I have a lot of big damage or insta-kill towers I tend to top path so as to not waste the other tower's potential on too many small bloons. This strategy works well if u rlly need that 4/5-2-0 boomer. If I cant supplementary cleanup I will tend to bottom path.
this map prolly does justify spam tho cuz a lot of my typical cleanup wont be as effective, such as 4-2-0 mortar, and water monkeys.
this map is so bad my mind keeps forgetting it exists. definitely up there as one of the worst maps in the game

I have been doing this map for like a week straight. I can constantly get to round 98. With my favorite global strat but can’t quite complete it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t a 0-4-2 spak been better, so it’s not wasting all the spices on the other Lane? I could be completely wrong I don’t use spak vary often
To be even more extra save , wouldnt it be better so go for smart spikes on the spikes storm ? Cause it only go on one lane then?😅

This map 2 and a half years later is still by far the most miserable unfun experience even on easy it still finds every way to drain any possible joy you could get from this game
Not a single tower is actually good for this map full range towers get messed up by the hut and towers with xray cant see through it either nor can they see the other tracks so literally every tower and hero performs poorly on this map
Even bloody puddles is more fair than this map because at least there full map towers can actually do their job
Also it looks like z factor but someone took a shit on the track

If your a chimpis player on very hard maps like if you lose you have to restart its not like oh im just going to continue no you can’t do that so it takes skill not pay to win
Discount villages stack up to 3 so why don't u use three ik that it's less discount the more u get cuse 5% of 100 is 5 but 5% of 95 is like 4.5 but is that really a big enough reason to not buy 3rd discount or am I missing smtng

this map is based off of trenches. the monkeys go over the bloons only because the bloons themselves are in the trenches
