a beautiful version of an old classic ....only now the "way we were" ...will never be again .....which makes this song even more heartfelt .....as you have shown in your own way!
Thanks Mark! - I appriciate your comment. Yeah, it's tricky to be honest to bother recording because there are so many other people far better lol. But I think passion sometimes wins over busy/complex songs too.
I'm still sitting on the fence whether to upload any of mine, I don't know if I'd like constructive criticisms on technique etc.. I've also only been playing since January 2021 as well
@@markE946 well, just put anything up. Even if you make a throwaway account for the time being, putting 'anything' online seems to motivate and might give you a time frame to learn etc. All the best. (ps I need to take my own advice to ha ha).
@@blahmeh242 I can assure you I need no motivation, I need the opposite, at one point the piano became an unhealthy obsession in which I would spend up to 5 hrs per night playing. In the city where I reside I have managed to find a few pianos in public places where I often play and get praised and I always receive positive welcomed feedback even if the style I play is in a dark style, Cm, Bbm, Ebm etc..
You play 2 amazing Jazz standards of Misty, I learnt a very basic version with 7th chords, but I'm not able to voice, ie spread the notes etc.. If I had your ability I'd be at the lobbies of any 5 star hotel and just start playing, I can guarantee you, you'd have an audience and potentially a regular slot with the hotel
Thanks so much for you comment. I used the original sheet music (I forgot where from now, but you can easily by $5) however yes, I did re-arrange things and probally the tempo too! But that's in my mind.. somewhere.
Thanks for your message! I actually just learned this from the original score, but I don't have my own changes, unless someone transcribes it, but I don't think there is all that much that couldn't be worked out, if anything I just changed things around slightly. I liked the ending part so I played this as part of the intro, I dragged out the timing a bit, played using mostly octaves and a few things, added a few bits, but otherwise it was based on the original score.
If you can express a melancholy feeling…. this translates it,,, hands done
