1st Corinthians 15:50-53 says, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die) but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory".
ALL Christians will receive an IMMORTAL, INCORRUPTABLE body at the LAST TRUMPET. We haven't had that happen yet. While MANY prophecies were fulfilled in the past this is UNDENIALBLE truth that FULL Preterism is NOT Biblical.

Paul was writing to living Christians when he said We shall not all sleep.
This is directly parallel with Matthew 16:27-28.
It is directly parallel with Matthew 24:29-34.
And Paul said that the resurrection would be when "the law" that was "the strength of sin" was removed. The law that was the strength of sin was the Law of Moses. Thus, if the resurrection has not been fulfilled the law of Moses remains in full force.
      Is that your position?
You are assuming without offering any actual exegesis, that Paul was speaking of the human body.

      @BobMoore-fb6jz 11 днів тому +4

Mike, you are correct. Paul did not say resurrection would be when the law was removed. And the law in 1 Corinthians 15:56 is not the law of Moses. It is the law of God that identifies sin. (Romans 7:7 thru 8:7) Sin still exist today. So God's law still exists. And the word "remove" is not found in 1 Corinthians 15:56. The solution to the problem is found in verse 57. The Victory comes through the grace of God that triumphs over law. It doesn't remove God's law. Blessings

@@BobMoore-fb6jz Paul used the term "the law"-- you did not answer all of my questions.
      According to Romans 7-8,
Paul would not have know sin except "the law" said "thou shalt not covet"-- what law was it that pointed out sin?
What law was it that Paul said brought death?
What law was it that Paul said could not deliver from the law of sin and death?
What law, written and engraven on stone tablets, did Paul call the ministry of death?
No, once again, you are simply wrong.

    • @BobMoore-fb6jz

@@MrDonPreston That's right, the old covenant could not deliver from the law of sin and death. But you yourself admitted that the law of sin and death still remains today for those outside of Christ. That was a fatal admission for your view. Why? Because law, sin, and death are all three mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:56. And the new covenant grace of God through the blood of Christ DOES triumph over the law of sin and death. So my view harmonizes perfectly with the Scriptures. Your view falls apart and leads to universalism.

    • @MrDonPreston
      @MrDonPreston  11 днів тому +1

@@BobMoore-fb6jz Bob, “the Law” could not deliver from the law of sin and death. You agree.
The law that pointed out sin, that brought death, was the law / covenant that said “thou shalt not covet.” That law was passing away because of its ineffectiveness and weakness.
The Gospel DOES deliver from the law of sin and death- true or false?
When Gentiles, who were never under the law, sinned, or, did what was right, what law were they obeying / disobeying?
And yes! //law, sin, and death are all three mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:56//!
But it is “the law” not simply law. And it is “the law” that served as the strength of sin, which I have shown from Paul himself was “the law” written and engraven in stones. What law was that, Bob? Why won’t you answer? We know, don’t we.
And your claim: //Your view falls apart and leads to universalism. // is totally illogical, not to mention slanderous. Salvation is for those “in Christ” as I have affirmed many times. But you just ignore this inconvenient true to make your slanderous charge. What is the fate of those not “IN CHRIST”- Bob?
      Do not fail to answer.

Don, this is unrelated to the subject of your video today.
I recall you some time ago saying you have a source that says an embassage of Jewish priests instigated the Neronian persecution, specifically even the deaths of Paul and Peter. I've searched everywhere I can think of to find something that says that, but can't find anything. Do you remember what source you were talking about?
    Thanks and blessings to you

I agree with you Don he did not say the kingdom was within them!
Jesus did not tell The Jewish leaders The Kingdom of The God was within them. He told them the kingdom of God was in their mist.
The Kingdom of The God was already among them. Christ the epicenter of the new government. They didn't understand that because they were not of his lost sheep, Israel. Nor did they receive The Holy spirit at Pentecost in order to be part of The kingdom under Christ leadership. It was promised to Israel, Christ sheep not the goats who's father was the devil, serpent.
    John 18:36.
Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to The Jews: BUT FOR NOW, BUT NOW, AS IT IS my kingdom not from hence".
What world was he speaking too? The Old World that's in the ground 20 up to 60ft we have been excavating out since the 1800s.

Interesting, that it supposedly took us 2000 years to dig The Roman Empire, Egyptian Empire, Mayan empire Etc out of the ground or even know that it was there LOL.
Also, another worthy fact is Flavius Josephus portrait paintings clothing fashion looks like a 1600s Turkish Royalty. I reckon 1600 years after first century, people are still dressing the same. I don't think so!
I believe that the ending of that world involves every word Jesus said and was not just spiritual, but it was also physical, and the old world was put in the ground! I don't know how much time went by from it being put in the ground until our civilization, what we know of as 1800s forward!
And what about The GOTHIC Catherdrals they were magnificent incredible architectural masterpieces, they are on top of the Roman Empire that's in the ground.
Even today, our civilization can't duplicate these cathedrals. We do not have the knowledge to build them. Neither do we have equipment to move some of the solid piece stones that were used in The Old World.
We have been taught distorted history and timeline!

Isaiah 9:7: "Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this".

The pictures of Josephus were not painted in the first century-- at least I have not read that. The paintings were, as was common in paintings of Jesus as well, depictions reflecting the clothing of the time in which the paintings were made. Those later artists did not know the proper clothing of the first century.
And your post is not relevant!

There are problems with preterism, but not the doctrine in its true form...
Only our understanding of its elements in context of the totality of Scripture...
We disagree on a lot of the ins and outs, but all in all the context of Scripture teaches an immediacy to Christ return...
    Will it happen again???
    Who knows???
I don't see any reason in scripture to see that is being the case...
If it were then it would be a mystery and there would be no way to know that anyway...
That's why prophecies have mystery, duhhh

Mr. Hodge holds the view that the OT prophets believed in the end of the world. I had been wondering where he gets that idea. I recently began reading G.K. Beale's "Union with the Resurrected Christ." In this book he takes the position that the OT prophets believed in the end of the world. Beale also cites Caird's "Language and Imagery of the Bible" for that same view.
