(C) 1/50 is exactly 0.02. So, 0.021 > 0.02
(D) 0.021≥0.02 is also true.
Thanks for explaining it for me, no one taught math like you
You could easily make 1/50 into a decimal of 0.02 or just multiply both amounts times 50, removing the fraction and making it 1.
Giving us 0.021 x 50 = 1.05, and 1/50 x 50 = 50/50 = 1
Yeah. Another example of of going twice round the houses to get to an easy answer
Who taught you to count?
C
got it GT simple math .021 GT .020 thanks for the fun
Another cream puff. Thanks Boss.
D is also correct.
Why?
I can see that at one point 21/1000 = 20/1000 and then exceeds it by 1/1000. Surely it's the final results that are being compared, not how they could equal and than pass.
The 7=7
was worse
John states it could be referred to as greater than or equal to 7.
@@vespa2860 sorry a UA-cam changed my original post.
D is also the correct answer because .21 is greater than or equal to .20.
There's your answer.
@@mylittlepitbull3143 Thanks, someone else replied to me above making the same point as you.
Guess D is correct because of the OR element. So in the 21 and 20 example, the equals element is redundant but the 'greater than' is still active making it true.
I think I must been equating AND with OR.
@@vespa2860well I had straight A's in math all the way through fourth year calculus, so I'm hoping all that education hasn't been wasted on this question.
c) >
Well ..
You don't need a calculator to work out that 1/50 is 0.02
so 0.021 is greater than 1/50 by 0.001
Answer c
You like to make simple problems complex so I guess that is your method of teaching..
C) 0.021 is greater than 0.02
C is the best answer, but D is also correct.

How can a greater number be considered equal to a lesser number (in this case 21 compared to 20)
3:10
7 can be considered to be greater than (or equal to) 7
I'm missing something really obvious!
The symbol for D is "is greater than OR equal to" this comparison is true when either condition is met. This is why D is a correct answer, although C is a better answer.
@@richardhole8429 Thanks for reply. Confess I'm still not sure - will have to think about it more (usually doesn't help!).
In the 7=7 example - you could write one 7 as x
So
x is greater than or equal to 7
But we know the value already, so it is equal to 7.
Actual question -ignoring the thousandths, The answer is
21 is greater than 20
mylittlepitbull3143 below, says the same thing as you, so I'm definitely missing something.
edit - With the help of both of you, I managed to work it out.
C. Greater than is true
D. Greater than OR equal to - has the greater than still correct although equals to is not.
@@vespa2860 Let's look at the problem at hand. 0.021 compared to 0.020
We can write the comparison as 0.021 > 0.020 (is ghreater than)
0.021 < 0.020 is FALSE.
0.021 = 0.020 is FALSE
0.021 0.020 (using as the NOT EQUAL comparator) is TRUE
0.021 = 0.020 (greater than OR equal to) is TRUE because greater than being true OR equal to FALSE, either of the two comparisons TRUE give a TRUE result
One last example 7 = 7
7 = 7 is TRUE
7 = 7 is TRUE because the = part is true even though the > part is false
C my answer

Change fraction to two over one hundred

Too easy .021>.02 to convert the fraction to a decimal either divide the numerator by the denominator or multiply both numerator and denominator by 2 either way the answer of these is .02 now comparing the decimals .021>.02
