Thanks for taking the time to say that! Theres another good explanation on those carbs in the mini video i uploaded last week, go check that one out aswell! 😎👍👍👍
Great video one of the most straight forward explanations of the SU carb set up I have seen. Great presentation and enjoyed listening to your thought process/diagnosis. Thanks for taking the time to film it. I have subscribed
I’ve got SU 4s I always and have for years set the mixture using a Gunson colortune or better one for each carb shows exactly what the mixture is showing when burning
Technically yes when starting from scratch but the adjustment was so minimal it didnt affect the engagement of the throttle arms and resulted in them moving simultaneously 👍👍
The car was running fine-ish before the customer messed with the carbs, hence starting with the fuel side of things. Drove out the shop a happy customer!
Yeah they certainly aint the best sounding engines, maybe the audio makes it sound a little more rough but most of the time they sound rather primitive 🤣
Never seen such a bad video? If a car doesn't run well (and that one didn't) you go through the job in sequence, why waste time establishing there was no fuel in the car after trying to tune the carbs? All the repetitive work!!!! Blow the carbs out with air, dont just poke about and stir up the sediment, what about the sediment sat in the tube? Sorry mate you wouldn't be doing my work.
Thankyou really learned a lot on setting up the carbs.brilliant

Yes that would be ideal! Id love to get an oldskool meter for the emissions. For now i have a well trained large nose 🤣🤣
Great job excellent ff&a 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
The carb linkages should be seperated when balancing ?
Runs like a bag of spanners
Had a Mini 1275 Gt which I converted from Single SU Carb too twin SU. Carbs , Oldschool David Visard. This geezer has a lot to learn.

is there a gas filter
Is the choke mechanism pulling the jets fully back up
It is now!
You really need to check the ignition system over before moving on to the carbs

is this what the a series Sound and idle like? was going to buy an MG, but if this is normal, id rather look for something else...

Please ditch the music. It is waay too loud, compared to your voice.
Noted, videos since have been edited for quieter music. Cheers for the constructive criticism 💪👍👍

@VaudreysClassics The original 1500cc sounded lovely, so I may well be putting it back in !!

@@having1a1laugh agree many mistakes.. and it was horrible at the end terrible hesitation when throttle opened
Everything was blown out of the carbs with compressed air if you watch close 😉
Poor diagnostic sequence. Description nomenclature inaccurate. Not fluent with systems analysis.
Wow, so many experts here... no head scratching moments with you guys. The guy sorted it.. end of.
not the correct carbs for mgb
Iv only ever seen these su's on the standard mgbs! What carbs you reckon should be one there?
@@VaudreysClassics you called them hs 6... it should be hs5
