Honestly I love those time lapse videos where there is only music, but somehow because it is you I don’t mind you talking through it at all. You are so insightful and interesting to listen to.
It's so nice to watch someone do quality work. I've had so many people come in to my home, recently, and NOT do quality work. I was beginning to think craftsmanship was a thing of the past.
Great work! I used to make really good money installing cabinets. Me and my buddy used to ask for the house for 24 hours. We’d ask the family to leave and we’d come in tear everything out, paint the room, install cabinets and countertops and hand the house keys back. We’d work straight through until we finished. The longest job we ever did to 30 hours. Zero sleep and only stoped to eat. It was hard but people always loved not being under remodel for day days or weeks. We built the cabinets in my shop usually in 2-3 weeks.
Such attention to detail! Awesome job. When I saw the title my first thought was 'oh no - was there a problem with the cabinets in their kitchen?'. Family is important. I miss mine. In the future the memories of such projects can be priceless.
Beautiful, great work and wise details. My kitchen is 1959!!! Looking at your work and cabinets instalment, I was dreaming that you were working in my kitchen!! Good job. Greetings from Rabat, Morocco.
@@FKS1994 My kitchen has the original cabinets and countertops from 1973, haha! And I see what SOME PEOPLE LIVE WITH, truly disgusting things. Some people might even think my tastes are "uppity." Unreal.
This is the first video I've seen of yours, and I love the way you explained everything. I love that you made separate videos on things like the microwave install and RTA cabinet assembly, that way no one video is overwhelming or skipping vital details. I'm looking at getting a fixer upper home in a few years (since that's all I can afford lol) and I've been dying to find someone who teaches house remodels in a way that I can learn from and feel inspired. I'm definitely going to start binge watching your channel!
Nice work. I like hearing you narrate the time lapse videos. I wouldn't know what I was looking at otherwise. :) Love the new cabinets. This is what I want to do in my kitchen (or have done). My 1982 honey oak cabinets have definitely run their course.
❤😊 Oh My it looks magnificent. Enjoyed everything so much. Sure glad I dropped in a while back. My kitchen is from 1972 made mostly plywood. I’ll probably only be here for 5 years so I will paint add a dishwasher , new electric stove and countertops . Still going to be 3 grand. No solid surface just Formica. Wasn’t thinking of 2 tone till you said it. Gray and white will work for me too. Thanks for that . 😊😊😊
Love the remodel and the video! Beautiful choices and excellent install. I would use a taller board at the top of the cabinet to make the crown molding trim touch the ceiling. Eliminates a space gathering dust.
Beautiful! My family has been in construction for more than 80 years and I grew up "on the job" "gophering" for my dad. It was fun to watch your video. Your explanations were clear and concise. Thank you for sharing.
Love it! The soft seafoam they chose for the bottom cabinets is beautiful and as always your work is perfect. The only thing I would change is to add molding going all the way to the ceiling, my eye focuses on that gap too much but that's just me. Looks great!
I'm a Home Stager and find Before and After absolutely fascinating. You did not disappoint. I loved your step by step process including all creative alternative "fixes" to make it all come together. Great job!!! 😃
Your yapping makes sense so please continue yapping hehe, this kitchen looks great. I was about to start timelapse binging so you read my mind. But still going to timelapse binge on the bathroom remodeling project. Thanks again for sharing. See you in the next video
Everything turned out nice on your kitchen. I just remodeled my kitchen. On the island, I added a 3 inch pony wall on the back for my outlets and wiring. Also I wanted more of a modern look in my kitchen, I didn’t add any crown molding. I think if you replace the doors between your sink or oven and add glass doors will make a huge difference. It’s all just preference. Thanks for this video.
I like this form tooo .... AND Matt has the sound levels just right with music slightly in the background. Watching utube vids when the sound isn't right and then a commercial comes on and blasts everything you've been trying to remember out of your head hurts.
just want to say that I love watching your videos. I'm a fellow native Massachusettsan (Masshole I often say) so I can relate to the old house idiosyncrasies and surprises. I learn so much from you. keep them coming, we'll keep watching, and a great many thanks.
The video was fine and the kitchen looked great and you did a great job. i enjoy watching you, as if you run into a problem, you find a solution and fix it.
i am a woman and this video made me sit still for the whole 23 mins, it’s so rewarding! i love your craftsmanship! very attention to detail, i wonder how much you spent?
I wish I had the garbage cabinets. The crown molding truly made up for the ugly empty space. BEAUTIFUL! I have never understood the cheap style of buying short cabinets; leaving a gap between a dusty sealing and the cabinets instead of using the entire space. I got rid off 80s cabinets when I bought my house that went up to a 50s decorative empty drywall box. We went all the way up, sideways and down and we gained so much storage. There was a dead corner and my husband installed a lazy Susan; at the other difficult corner he installed a stainless steel open shelves cabinet.
You did an absolutely gorgeous job. Wish you were in my area and could do my kitchen. I really enjoyed watching you fix this kitchen. You definitely are a handyman and great at what you do.
Beautiful job! Made me realize we’ll never get our kitchen redone. Ours is from 1962 and the entire room needs to be done. Great work…I’ll check out your channel now!
Hey! I also just redid my 1960's kitchen. That was more of an undertaking but I made a bunch of videos on it. Check them out if you want. Thanks for watching!
Oh WOW! What a difference! It's absolutely beautiful!! As always I understood everything, because you explain it in a way that I can understand. Awesome job as usual Matt!! 😁❤️
Nice job I usually supply an extra panel to cut for above cabinets and take crown to cieling. they sell a corner hinged cabinet instead of the blind corner.
Wow! I love that you didn't destroy the cabinets, even tho you were getting rid of them. I would happily take these and paint them and put in my kitchen!
This was really nice work. I havent' ever built anything but honestly so much of this just made sense. And I found myself nodding along hard when you rewired the microwave - in my old house if I had a space heater running in my craft space (the attic) and you ran the microwave.... bam - breaker tripped. Very thorough work and review of same. Plus I like the clean lines of the cabinetry.
Wow! Such excellent attention to detail. The detail you gave, I felt like you were working on your own home and not just a clients space. Loved that you cleaned up as you went along, great narration, and the overall outcome was a stunning transformation. I would definitely hire you and recommend your services if you were local.

Hey love it I wish I had two tone cabinet in my kitchen I love the style and color "never knew what a toe kick heater was had to look it up"😆 thanks for sharing 💙
Great video, thank you! Two things I appreciate very much about your work are (1) you care whether something looks good; and (2) you care about making things easier for people in the future if they ever want to make changes. With so many professionals, all they care about is getting it done -- if it works, it's good enough, who cares what it looks like. Also, if they do something in a way that makes it difficult for someone in the future, too bad -- that's their problem. However, I'm really confused as to why the cabinets couldn't go to the ceiling. They would be too high? Too high for what? To reach the top shelves? Then do a pull-down, or just don't store anything up there. Some of the items in the video that were stored on the top shelf were touching the top; certainly there would have been no harm in having that area a couple of inches higher. Also, why not just install wider crown molding to bring it to the ceiling? That would have looked a lot better than those tiny gaps. That's the only thing I think would have been a lot better if done differently, but it's not my kitchen. It's beautiful, and I'm glad the homeowners were happy.

The extra height on those cabinets make such a big difference, along with filling out to the full wall distance. Straightforward refresh, great work!
True it's better to have higher cabinets or cover the tops with sheet rock make like a box above it so no dust lol.
