Right on! The 80's was the ultimate decade for music, all of the greatest hair bands played with passion. It is much superior to the cookie cutter crap of today!
Personally, I think the first four albums were all great, this one of course being the best, but all the albums after I just dont like....at all. I was depressed when the song "Lets Get Rocked" came out, it just wasnt them, or at least what they were
It is a love song written by a rock band from all angles of the song when you think about it. Now in this modern time, hardly anyone can write and play their own rock music like these rock bands. Got to admire their talents! I love the song even I was not born during the a rock bands were all over the world. I am their fan for a few years now. The words in their song are so true though! I came back here to refresh my memory. I thought it was Steve Clark who played the solo here but I was wrong. It's the lick that starts at 3:24 that sticks in my mind after all these years. I was wondering how it was played.
Don't understand why any of you keep saying this group or their songs were underrated. No they weren't they blew our minds!! They rocked an entire generation to where we can still feel it today just as well as back in the day...never underrated by us at all!!
At the time they were and still are. Autotune and manufactured music took over. Now you can find a crackhead and make them a star with 0 musical talents at all and sell millions of albums to the sheep
No...I don't think I ever underrated them at all! In fact, their 1988 tour was the best concert I've ever been too...next to Queensryche Empire!!! Both, my favorite bands!!!
I know right? I mean this song was one of many that encompassed the material that made up the back drop to an 80-mile-a-minute period who's memory will forever echo thru the canyons our minds. We were there....and that means something.
One thing about Def Leppard was melody. Unlike other groups that they would go off in a different direction with any solos - it was always about keeping the melody within the song.
One of the best albums in this era if not ever. Still wear my crop shirts glad I still can. I'm a woman who loves this song and band! The intensity in Joe's eyes, Steve's amazing riffs, such a sexy song. God I miss this time.
It's almost 5 am where I am, and I have a sudden urge to call my girlfriend and tell her how beautiful and perfect she is! She really is a gift from God!
Def leppard. The story of this band is unbelieveable, the one handed drummer, the fame, the success, the fact that almost everyone heard of them. These guys are legends, and they still have a couple years left in the tank.
I can't believe this song "flopped" when it was released...it's a freakin classic! Hard hitting, crunchy...solid as hell! Just an immense and voluptuous sound. Music just doesn't sound like this anymore. Run Riot is also incredible...I just love these guys!
This WAS 1 of the 1st released songs off that album ! Why , it wasn't getting the fame as the others ! To me , it's BETTER then the great hit , " Pour Some Sugar on Me " ? BUT , maybe it's just me on that part ?
Great for rock radio, wasn't going to hook mainstream audiences in after four years away. Most countries went with 'Animal' as the lead single and that worked much better.

samhouston1979 they were custom shop les Paul’s modeled after the famous black beauty with three pickups . Creates a more versatile sound with the third pickup . Peter framptons famous 1954 Gibson Les Paul custom has three pickups too !
samhouston1979......'The Riffmaster'....aka Steven Maynard Clark 'was' Leppard. Their lack of success post his incalculable loss with his death is evidence of this fact. Steve was the primary songwriter for this band, he created some of the most intricate melodies, harmonies, his riffing heavy was, strapped so low just rock star cool, his hooks, bends, he had it all and on stage he zipped around and dazzled. Steve went through many guitars, he worshipped Page, hence his love and use of LP Gibsons prImarily but he also used a range of guitars, his 18 string razors, one a white with kahler tremolo was sensational, the other a red one, Thunderbirds, one a bright red with triple pick ups has only ever appeared in a videos not live. If you want to see Steve's rig and how it changed from 1978 until his death and the final 'In The Round/Face Tour' I suggest you visit a website called "In loving memory Steve Clark". Steve did use Strats and Teles in the studio also. The other great iconic guitarist to use triple pick ups on his customs, and a few early LP Standards is the great man Space Ace Frehley. The difference between these tow icons is Ace's middle pick up is a dummy, whereas Steve used three.
I remember when Women debuted on Headbangers Ball and not only loved the song but the video even to this day is an all time favorite of mine! R.I.P. Steve Clarke.
DEF LEPPARD IS A FANTASTIC BAND AND FOR SOME WOMAN ALL MARRIED . SO LOOK AND ENJOY THE MUSIC. LIKE I DO AND I AM A DEF LEPPARD FAN. JOE ELLIOT IS IN HIS 60S YEARS OF AGE AND STILL ROCKING WITH DEF LEPPARD.
A great song Joe Elliott has a powerful beautiful voice one of the greatest song writer in hard rock music. Steve Clark one of the greatest guitar players in hard rock music great guitar solo . I love you Steve Clark RIP 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🎸🌹
I just watched the video of DEF LEPPARD , Women!! I'm 60 years old and I think this is one of the very best songs that they did. Can Do !!!! Seabees!!!!
Started listening to Def Leppard in the early 80s when I was a young teen with Pyromania. Then in the later 80s I had my first car and met the girl that would become my wife we got the Hysteria album and played it all the time back then. Had Def Leppard with me all my life. I lost my wife 5 years ago when I was 49 and now a couple years ago Def Leppard released another great album called Diamond Star Halos and in it are songs that take me back to both Pyromania and Hysteria. Its a big circle of love, life, and music with Def Leppard and me. Love them.
It's hard for those younger nowadays to understand the struggle of the late 70s and then 80s bands. As mutitrack recording became more complicated and its boundaries were pushed, electronics and digital recording moved in. The studio itself became an instrument. On Pyromania and Hysteria, Lange pushed Def Leppard into levels of perfection that would have been considered insane a decade before unless you were Steely Dan with an army of elite session musicians. Drums were recorded and then re-recorded with just the parts drum machines couldn't do. Like Page on the later Zeppelin albums, several guitars were layered. Yet the live shows proved it could be done live and with energy. They redefined hard rock.
Steve was a fucking genius, he was the primary song writer, and he came up with what remain stunning epic harmonies, melodies, hooks, bends and riffs. "The Riffmasters" loss remains a loss that is un-quantifiable.
2:01 Worship Our Master’s Every Need. Women! Women! We can’t live without them! My absolute favorite song by Def Leppard. They Got Me. Still Have Me. So HE came up with an answer, Here’s what it cost…. One part love, One part wild. One part lady, One part child I give you… WOMEN.
You never leave a man behind....and they didn't. And it paid off tenfold for them. Pyromania was great.....Hysteria....PERFECT!! Every song on that album is FIRE!! And Rick Allen is a BEAST on those drums!! This band's story is inspirational as all can get. They didn't give up on Allen...and he came thru and helped them make some of the best music of the 80's.
At 17 I knew this video was dropping any day . Had to go on road trip with my mom out of state. Got to my aunt's house. 1st thing I say is Hi Aunt Marie. YOU HAVE MTV??? She did and it stayed on till I got to see it. Remember sitting in awe in her living room like it was yesterday. Still my favorite album all time. Damn I miss the 80s.
This is one of my favorite songs. I can't believe that it was not a number one hit. I didn't appreciate it back in the 80's, but realize now how awesome the lyrics, guitar, bass. Everything!
I bought this album a few weeks after it was released in '87. A lot of people said it was over produced, but I think it sounds awesome, even 33 years later.
One would think it might be overproduced, and it does have an 80s sound , but that’s NOT a bad thing. It is a masterpiece,IMO , too - I kind of lean on Pyromania as a better album , but Hysteria is about equally as great. The melodies and rhythms on this album are very catchy - I think they wanted to go for broke with everything Rick Allen went thru - and they proved themselves. A lot of the writing is standard RnR , it’s just that they have a way of “nailing it down” , it’s so infectious. 1987 was my HS years , and I wouldn’t trade those times for anything
This song was playing in the bones of our ancient ancestors when we were living in the caves of the great forests. Def Lepard just dropped a record needle on it and let it out.
Fantastic rock song. Steve Clark is a legend and I wish he was still here. But you are all underestimating Phil Collen in this one. He is also massively talented. One of the Terror Twins. Phil & Steve together are some of the best guitarists of all time. Love them both!
Im in love with this song. Enigmatic, intense, beautiful. Inspired on enigmatic, intense and beautiful women. No one could capture their escence in a song. Except Def Leppard
IMO this song should have went to #1 when it came out....killer guitar riff in the beginning, along with totally awesome lyrics and vocals....WHAT THE HELL WAS EVERYBODY THINKING?!?!?!?!

I'm 61 my friend. Love this band from the beginning, decades ago. Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷 🙋♂️🇺🇲
The fact that this band always sang giant portions of their songs together, in harmony...is why I fell in love with them in the 80's
thats what set the 80's on fire was vocal & guitar harmonies, so so good
They ruled the heavy metal world 1987-1989 because of great songs like this
A melodic style back in the 80's
No harmony anymore its who can scream loudest
Yes its a masterpiece
The 80s will never be replicated...and I hate it... they were the greatest!

NO! I am listening in May of 2020!!! 😀😂😎✌️
The opening minute or so of this song is the best opening for any '80s song ever.
4:41 EPIC ❤️
We Miss You Steamin Steve Clark. The Riffmaster That Made The Music Groove. He Was The Backbone Of Def Leppard.
Holy bass, Mr. Rick Savage. It just gets into your bones and makes you want to rock.
One of the best bass players of a rock band - even if he couldn’t play…he had some great stage performance for the ladies
@@ndowroccus4168 Him and Phil can light it up together.
All of this...just YES!!
Oh yeah!
I remember when Women debuted on Headbangers Ball and not only loved the song but the video even to this day is an all time favorite of mine! R.I.P. Steve Clarke.

God's of War is awesome!
This is one determined pack of rock buddies who stood up against all odds and are still shining through......
Love them.
Def lepard, van halen, motley crew, poison and guns n roses molded my life since i was a grade schooler
Most people lose an arm and have to give up on what they used to do. Rick Allen just got better!
Your right gf
I’m a guitarist and Rick Allen is my favorite drummer. (Alex Van Halen is my second)
The song that started the 35 million plus juggernaut that is Hysteria. Still an amazing album to this day.
i love def leppard
I'm DYING over the realisation that I will probably never get into the time machine.
Steve Clark was a fucking genius.
He wrote all the guitar riffs.
FYI, he's the guy in the white jeans.
Steve was a fucking genius, he was the primary song writer, and he came up with what remain stunning epic harmonies, melodies, hooks, bends and riffs. "The Riffmasters" loss remains a loss that is un-quantifiable.
Through his chaos and destruction he created order and masterpieces.
Best song on the record!
@@ScottyKirk1 well said lad

My absolute favorite song by Def Leppard.
They Got Me.
Still Have Me.
So HE came up with an answer,
Here’s what it cost….
One part love,
One part wild.
One part lady,
One part child
I give you…
WOMEN.
Best album they ever did ❤
Hot DAMN I love this music! Brings it all back 🥰🔥
It’s got Biblical and Ancient Greek ideas I love it
You never leave a man behind....and they didn't.
Song is ridiculously underrated
Andrew Sloothaak - the ending to this song is fucking epic
Totally agree! Most of them end so awesome! Sugar me!! Heh heh.. yep! You got this right for sure!
Best def lepard album by far. Although pyromania is excellent as well
Generic 80’s horse shit.
I was just about to say the same thing.
AMPUTATED ARM AND FANTASTIC DRUMMER 🎉❤.
This is one of my favorite songs. I can't believe that it was not a number one hit. I didn't appreciate it back in the 80's, but realize now how awesome the lyrics, guitar, bass. Everything!
I raised my 28 year old son on this band. They are our favorite band to this day.
Good mom! I was luckily to discover this album as a child in a second hand bin, 32 and I still listen to DL weekly.
I'm a 28 Yr old son of a massive def Leppard fan. I'm thankful every day for being raised on the best music ever made.
Cool mom! Gotta teach the new generation how great Def is

How this song never did well as the lead off single is beyond me, it is my favourite off this album and one of my all time favourites of theirs
That bass is savage🤘💯
Znám skupinu dlouhou dobu a tak jsem spokojen 🎉😅😮😂 4:44
Def Leppard has the most amazing opening riffs to all their songs , really sets the mode
No matter what these guys and other hair bands and 70's will be more popular then those coming after;
Omg!!! That song was f***ing awesome!!! Never heard it before. Let's protest that we all have to go back to the 80s right now!!!!!!!!!
I bought this album a few weeks after it was released in '87. A lot of people said it was over produced, but I think it sounds awesome, even 33 years later.
They probably had covid before we eve knew it was a thing...no taste
A lot of people were wrong Hysteria was Def Leppard's masterpiece.
One of my favorite groups, i love their music.
This song is amazing with the awesome melodies of Steve Clark
Steve Clarke is tearing up the cord's, Missing you Steve Clarke 🎸✌️❤️

Fantastic rock song. Steve Clark is a legend and I wish he was still here. But you are all underestimating Phil Collen in this one. He is also massively talented. One of the Terror Twins. Phil & Steve together are some of the best guitarists of all time. Love them both!
this song is the best 🎩
The best rock band ever ❤
Definitely 🎸 🎶
Joe Elliott is a rock star
Absolutely 💯
Im in love with this song. Enigmatic, intense, beautiful. Inspired on enigmatic, intense and beautiful women. No one could capture their escence in a song. Except Def Leppard
1st loving band.
SOO cool. Still cool! WORE THEIR PATCH ON MY JEAN JACKET RIGHT ABOVE MY HEART! THIS WAS MY BAND! Was there since ON THRU THE NIGHT! Love ‘em!
IMO this song should have went to #1 when it came out....killer guitar riff in the beginning, along with totally awesome lyrics and vocals....WHAT THE HELL WAS EVERYBODY THINKING?!?!?!?!
While Rocket is amazing as can be, I think this song should've been bigger cause it is more badass!!!
