I'll never forget the day when my dad came home and said "Hey Faye, do you know the rock group Def Leppard??"....This was back in 1984 when I was 24 years old. We lived in Hawaii Kai, Hawaii and my dad had stopped at a nearby boat ramp at a beach and met the group after they had finished jet skiing.....Yeah....I wished I was there
Hysteria always brings a flood of Forgotten feelings and emotions from Better Days. I waited anxiously for this album to drop so I could walk in and purchase it in vintage viny and shortly after, I had to purchase it on cassette so that I could take it with me. As soon as the Hysteria tour was announced , I saved my nickels and dimes to buy my ticket in advance.
I remember standing in line at Ticket Master for all the concerts to all these bands back in the day! I was a huge concert goer back in the day! I got so good at buying tickets to these concerts that I would always get front row seats to these concerts! I really miss those days! I was very blessed to see all my favorite bands in concert! The only one I never got to see was Tom Petty! I regret not seeing him in concert!
Hi, my wife just passed away last June on my birthday and we had to literally say goodbye on Father's Day which was the 21st. She always said that we would come see y'all cuz that's my dream you still are. Just not with her. You're so amazing and maybe one day before I die I can see you. Thanks
My son died almost 3 years ago, and this song just tugs at my heart especially when he wants to know 'if you're alone tonight'. It's hard for me to keep a dry eye. I loved him terribly and miss him so much. R. I. P. Jeff!
How does one go through life not loving these guys? They sing about things that impact us at all stages of life. I found them relevant at 17. I'm now 51 and I crank their music. I tune my systems to them. Def Leppard will turn a sub inside out in 2 drumbeats. I tune to them and all is well. Why? Because I love all music. But one must crank Def Leppard when you listen to it. Tune for the best listen to anything!

That's because Robert John "Mutt" Lange produced this album. He's the invisible sixth voice you hear harmonizing on this song. The same as he did with Bryan Adams in the early 90's with "Do I Have To Say The Words". Hysteria is the most well produced/ mixed album I've ever heard. Cheers!

I bought my Def Leppard albums when they were first released on vinyl. Would clear the house out and very carefully take the record out of the sleeve and gently put it onto my Dual Electic Glide Turntable w/Pickering needle, run the sound through my vintage Pioneer receiver and have the most incredible clear, extremely loud, crisp sound disbursed out of a pair of JBL L110 Studio Monitors (17ft apart). The floor would shake. My ears would ring for a while after, but for me, short of being live there was nothing like it. Old Guy.
I was lucky enough to be born in 1970 (so I was about seventeen when this album came out). Listened to it on a cassette player back then. Also dressed exactly like Joe did in this video; had the torn Def Leppard T-shirt; the jeans that I took a razor to (which took fifteen minutes just to get them on) and Def Leppard was all that I was listening to. I had a chance to see them live during this tour because my dad was dating Joanne Lucketta (her son Troy is the drummer of Tesla and Tesla was on tour with Def Leppard at the time). She was going to get us back stage passes but my dad thought she was going to buy the tickets also and because it just wasn't important to him - he completely forgot; we never went. But I did end up meeting the whole band about four years ago in Hollwood; they're all really cool guys of course. But I still haven't seen them live... :'(

Respect to them for waiting for Rick Allen to get situated with the drums after he lost his arm. He's extraordinary on those drums! 🥁
When it came out, they were the biggest band, I would have never thought they would have done better than Pyromania…but, “pour some sugar” grabbed earth by the collar and said “Let’s party” and the single cougars started flocking to arena rock (Tesla/Leppard being the biggest thing in 87), lightning in a bottle (this album). Steve Clark put down his greatest riffs, Rick Allen’s comeback, and elliots vocals - summed up 87. This album can lay next to Zeppelin 4 and Pink Floyd’s Wall and hold its own. No doubt top ten album/cd/dvd/cassette/download.
No your not the only one listening to def Leppard.." Hysteria". Reminds me of a true love Brian meets, bossier city Louisiana. Excellent time in 1993 onward.
My best friend's sister who happened to be a twin, died from falling off a 3rd story balcony. ..saddest days of our lives. To know her was truly a gift. She donated her organs to carry on with life for those who needed it! This song came out that day she was buried.🩷
Memories of melodic dreamy rock and roll song ballads. I feel peaceful every time I hear. This song never gets old. The bands of this era had so much incredible talent. I'm so happy that I was there and part of the 80's scene. Def Leppard forever 💘. Long Live Rock and Roll!
In the early eightees when I moved to n.y.c it was exciting like def Leppard they meant a lot to me, and they were one of the best bands back then, I was born in 1956 and I know good music and look in 2024 there still on tour because there just great !!!
Such a peaceful song. Takes me back to better times. At least we had our day. At least we had the 80s. Long Live the 80s. Heres to Life as we once knew it. "Oooo Babe. Hysteria when you're near."
Saw Def in concert ..1988..Charlevoix Mich..what an amazing show...the light show was spectacular...perfect night . Now I'm in my mid 40s..still loving them..
Masterpieces Forever.I Still Have All Album CDs,CAssettes,Merch & Hat Too.Worth Buying.Good Old Days & Memories. Old Is Gold . 80s & 90s Were The Best Era. Today's Music Is Pure Garbage.
I met the band in person back during this tour when they flew into the airport at Iowa City's Municipal Airport, where I enjoyed meeting the crew and artists... seeing the Def Leppard drawing that one of the musicians had drawn before landing.... Once in a lifetime!!!! Had to use a GPU to start the Aces High charter service Gulfstream G-1.... Life is too short to shit yourself!!! Be a Shepard for the future generations of America 🇺🇸 and the world 🌎
This was the video where I fell head over heels in love with Joe Elliott back in the 9th grade in high school. That summer, when Def Leppard came to Montreal, I made sure I was at that show singing and screaming my head off. Even in 10th row, it was hilarious to see the boys freaking out over how loud the Montreal crowd was. I was pleased to read a month later in some heavy metal magazine that Joe and Rick Savage commented that Montreal was one of their loudest crowds ever. By far, this is one of the best rock ballads out there.
Astonishingly great rock song. I still marvel at how Def Leppard conquered America with a sound so American they beat the Americans to it, otherwise bands from across the divide would have made it before them. This was a band from working class, northern city Sheffield who came up with a sound unlike anything Britain had produced before or at the time in the mid eighties ( and ever since) releasing highly polished, superbly played and produced music. Mutt Lang's production expertise helped make Hysteria the single and album truly epic, and it sounds just as good in 2016 as it did in 1987. Big, powerful music but with a musical intricacy the critics who dismissed them failed to spot- a great timeless band.
@@HelgaV57 Joe Elliot explains in he Sky Arts interview with Brian Johnson of AC/DC ( great series by the way) that initially it was not selling huge amounts while they were on tour in France but when Pour Some Sugar On Me was released in America, sales rocketed off the scale. They returned to tour in summer 1988 and the album was selling millions. The rest is history.
I hope others agree with my statement,. Def Leppard was way ahead of there time . They are by far in a league of there own. And in the 80 's there was hundreds of bands born and none of them deserves a thumbs down. Especially Def Leppard... for those who gave a thumbs-down clearly clearly was not from the 80s era because not only Def Leppard is one of the best bands ever/....
I was born in 85 so I grew up listening to them. Still one of my favorite rock bands to date. I especially love Rick Allens determination to continue drumming after his accident and the guys for not giving up on him

Phenomenal! Thanks to the heavens for raining down pure rock & roll 8/7/2024. Love Def Leppard!
As a child of the late 70's early 80's, this song/band is GOLD!
My best friend's sister who happened to be a twin, died from falling off a 3rd story balcony. ..saddest days of our lives. To know her was truly a gift.
She donated her organs to carry on with life for those who needed it! This song came out that day she was buried.🩷
So sorry......
This is absolutely my favorite song from Def Leppard I love there music
Still listening 🎶 always will ❤️🔥❣️❤️🔥
Love Def leppard !! They are still good today in the music world !!
Def Leppard is what many of today's performers can only pretend to be - classy, super talented, sexy, and timeless. DL is the best !!
Memories of melodic dreamy rock and roll song ballads. I feel peaceful every time I hear. This song never gets old. The bands of this era had so much incredible talent. I'm so happy that I was there and part of the 80's scene. Def Leppard forever 💘. Long Live Rock and Roll!
you and I !
The 80’s Ruled!
In the early eightees when I moved to n.y.c it was exciting like def Leppard they meant a lot to me, and they were one of the best bands back then, I was born in 1956 and I know good music and look in 2024 there still on tour because there just great !!!

I like to thing of the 80s as a never ending era. It's still alive to this day. Not in mainstream media, but inside the hearts of many of us
Such a peaceful song. Takes me back to better times. At least we had our day. At least we had the 80s. Long Live the 80s. Heres to Life as we once knew it. "Oooo Babe. Hysteria when you're near."
so very true, dont take the 80´s away from us
80’s were the BEST!
Love the 80’s music, 78 baby and still listening to 80’s bands.
I can't believe a Rock lead singer who wears his wedding band. KUDOS!

He s still fine !!!
I agree with you, but disagree because they could not copy Alice Cooper's style of music.
Ll
Well said sir
I heard that the album wasn’t selling big at first, but then slowly started picking up. Truly the greatest rock album of all time.
I’m still listening to this album ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

R.I.P Steve Clark
Still their greatest song in my opinion
I hope others agree with my statement,. Def Leppard was way ahead of there time . They are by far in a league of there own. And in the 80 's there was hundreds of bands born and none of them deserves a thumbs down. Especially Def Leppard... for those who gave a thumbs-down clearly clearly was not from the 80s era because not only Def Leppard is one of the best bands ever/....
For sure
I was born in 85 so I grew up listening to them. Still one of my favorite rock bands to date. I especially love Rick Allens determination to continue drumming after his accident and the guys for not giving up on him
You got it.
