People tend to forget that Slade had some fine pop/rock ballads in their repertoire. This, My Oh My and How Does It Feel are top drawer in my opinion. Thanks for making this old guy happy with your song choice and excellent execution of it.
@ Everyday, absolutely, that one had slipped my mind. I’m usually pleased when Christmas and New Year are over, travelling around the country trying to keep family and friends happy gets harder with every passing year.
@@kevingriffin9893 Slade had a run of very catchy singles, in the '72-74 era of glam rock, usually wearing ridiculous clothes. Worth hearing just for the singer's sandpaper voice.
You were obviously a perceptive 14-year-old, Steve! Lovely cover! (Thanks for your help yesterday ... I shan't feel quite so intimidated by technology next time.)
Very perceptive - wise enough to buy a lot of T.Rex, Wizzard & Slade records at the time. Sadly, 25 years later I wasn't as wise, and gave them all to a charity shop...😢
Morning Steve, just to let you know Wendy's Life During Wartime cover isn't on the playlist over at the new forum. She's prolific and it's easy to miss some, the thumbnail is always the same :-)
I am always finding something new to me in SOTU, and I love that! Good tune.
@@MelTheUker I know - at the end of some seasons I have a "to listen to" list long enough to miss the next week entirely...
Fine song. It was a new one on me. Nice to see Noddy could write a meaningful song as well as a string of pop classics.
@@berniarmstrong They wrote a few softer ones, some for their Slade In Flame album/film. Still enjoy listening to them.
I wouldn’t have picked that as a Slade song. Great song and fine version.
@@jp888then No, it's not one to jump up and down to at the youth club. They even got the spelling right on the title. Thanks for listening.
Noddy and Jim were great writers. I have the DVD of Slade in Flame somewhere, must dig it out to watch again.
@@PGUke Yes, I think this one was from that film, which I confess I have never seen.

Sounding mighty fine!

Great tune, new to me. Thanks for sharing.
@@tomcatwombat6529 thanks for listening Mr tcw
Very enjoyable, Steve!
@@ukeanflute thank you!
New one to me! Great presentation, it inspires me to learn more about the song and the group! Thanks for the intro Steve ~

This was great Steve. I’m going to have to listen to more Slade.
@@desertpavement510 Oh definitely. But don't try to sing like him.
Not a song I know and, like John, if you'd asked me to guess I'd never have said Slade.
Terrific stuff, Steve. Thank you for the introduction!
@@bobjking It got to No2 in 1974, but you were probably more interested in Stewpot's Junior Choice at the time.

Nice, Steve! I’m just a bit disappointed you didn’t dress up Noddy style : (
The fancy dress box is up in the loft, including the top hat with mirrors. Maybe another time.😊

@@Bystander929 It looks as if Wendy has added it herself, and Joko too. You can add any more which turn up on email but not on the forum.
