    Wow what a good video Dan!
    I totally couldn’t hear that you forgot to turn off the AC before starting to record 🙂

    I'm thankful for the 8ft cord. Older house, cord has to tuck behind counter rail and go across and down behind the stove to reach a plug.
    Thank you for the long plug helping to clean up my countertop

    Someone gifted me an Osma, and this video was incredibly helpful at improving what I'm doing with this. I also hadn't used my TDS reader on the output but now I will! So thank you Dan

    My dad found one of these at a thrift shop and gave it to me because he knows I’m into coffee…I found this video because I was trying to figure out why it tasted under-extracted. Thanks for the tip about the hot bloom!

    I think this is the first coffee themed channel where I've heard the creator drop an F bomb, subscribed

      Honesty is the best policy! My opinion cannot be bought. It can, however, be earned 🙂

    Haven't been this excited for a video in a while, I was really curious what you would think about this unique monstrosity, I knew you'd be able to make something out of it. Loved hearing your thoughts.
    Been very much enjoying your Guardian and sunshower blends. You're great at what you do.

    I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. The cord complaint was epic

    Appreciate your candid review. Well... when Berezza introduced espresso to the world, it was frowned upon and even the "prized" crema had to be marketed. It is like you say a whole new concept. One cannot go in with the idea of espresso or cold brew. Perhaps osma needs their pavoni to make it a hit! Personally I feel acid (high notes)may not be that bad. After all it is a prized character in cupping, so much so that the earthy types need "cupper's correction" to bump up the score.

      I think that’s a big issue for me really. It’s hard to market something at this price point when people aren’t familiar with the product they’ll get from it!
      Anyone who’s buying an espresso machine has had espresso before and knows what to expect. They’ll spend the money.
      But a brand new form of coffee for $700 is a tough sell

      @@SoftPourn yeah....I get the feeling the inventors are really more engineers! They need a marketing team! 😅 And perhaps the problem is (kind of what u alluded to) trying to solve a new brew with old methods. A more elegant and perhaps effective mod is varying the degree of cavitation? Intensity, frequency, etc? Like how PID works. I dunno... it just seems more logical. Hope osma will look into that. It will also not be so drastic of a mod to make in their version 2.

    I just tried this on mine and it makes quite a bit of difference. Something I can actually drink. Are you grinding as fine as your would espresso? What ratio did you try to get out?

    • @SoftPourn
      @SoftPourn  Рік тому +1

      I am grinding as fine as I would espresso. It’s been a while since I’ve used the machine so I can’t quite remember my ratio but I do plan on revisiting this topic soon in a video

    At what temperature did you bloom the coffee at pre extraction?

    • @SoftPourn
      @SoftPourn  Рік тому +2

      I went straight off a boil. As hot as I could get it just to pick up extraction as best I could.
      If you give it a try, do a little prick with a wdt to create channels before blooming. It helps the puck accept water at a fine grind
