I had my heart stopping beating for a bit and was in a medically induced coma for 2 months, I could've sworn I woke up on route to theatre but couldn't speak and felt UNBELIEVABLY peaceful... like a peaceful I've never felt before or since. I was told by the lead consultant that my eyes had patches covering them and my eyes taped shut so was impossible to know the route which we would've taken to theatre... but somehow I knew the exact route as I'd experienced it before even though it was impossible to see withy own eyes. Ever since cheating death like that I've come to accept death and am certainly not frightened of it, however... I'm still scared of the way in which I die. I wish I could explain in words the feeling of peace and weightlessness I felt... but it felt like nothing else.
As someone who suffers with really bad anxiety around existential thoughts and worries, dans perspective was really genuinely beautiful and comforting, i want the same thing.
Dan talking about his children almost brought me to tears. I'm 22 and not thinking about having children in the slightest but that got me good

Just a quick point but elite athletes can bet on themselves it’s just slightly more nuanced. They can take out a Lloyds of London insurance policy for them to score a certain amount of goals in a season, they pay the policy price( depending on how much the pay out is the price fluctuates, top Motocross athlete Chad Reed famously did it and paid about 100 grand and it paid out about 4mill apparently) and if they achieve the amount of goals Lloyds pay out!

I've had sciatica since June and I've been on codeine and it's made me constipated like you wouldn't believe, id not done a shit for 8 days and I shit you not ( excuse the pun ) I had a shit as fat and as long as a large pringles tin and it made my arsehole bleed for about half an hour. Thought I'd have to got to hospital for stitches but didn't want em to think I'd been sticking things up my hoop.
