I was in the choir that performed in the movie. I remember the lodge was freezing cold for several hours that day. They finally got a huge fire going and warmed us up.
Wonderful. Eterrnally fresh and charming. Art Garfunkel and Jimmy Webb, too! How can you lose? thank you, Amy and collaborators, for giving us this wondrous and enduring gift! All the best of the holiday season to everyone!
Where was this at in Montana? My wife is from Hot Springs, and just found out Amy was in Montana in 1986. Wife would have been 11 years old then. We would love to know the history of her filming in Montana.
@@JeannetteFrench The final segment with the orchestra and choir was filed at Kootenia Lodge near Big Fork. The scene in the People’s Store was on Hwy 95 just south of Kalispell.
@foxxbj and @jeanetteFrench I was also involved in the filming as a 12 year old. I have so many fond memories of this October in 1986 when it was filmed on location in Northwest Montana. I don't think any of it was filmed in Hot Springs. Parts were filmed in Glacier National Park. Parts were filmed at then "Glacier Horse Ranch" and parts were filmed in Browning.
I remember watching this on tv. Saw her live for the first time, summer 1986, Wolf Trap, Vienna, VA. So 1980s....that outfit is a scream..especially the pants :)
Classic Amy Grant from the mid 80s i was a kid like 10 in 1986. My mother was a fan of Amy Grant back then, now Amy has changed since then, she was once married to Gary Chapman, now she's merried to Vince Gill.
Yes and course, she hadn’t been married that long neither and, yes she did have children by her first husband Gary Chapman though! So, it wasn’t really crazy, people don’t get married to start making babies right away, so, it isn’t that strange!
The concert footage was actually filmed at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville in the middle of summer in 1986. A bunch of church youth groups made up the audience. Everyone was told to dress like it was winter.
Most people film Christmas Programs in the winter anymore then, that way they can air them on time during the Holiday Season! Not Strange! Did you Not Read In Fine Print Where All the reading comes up after the program where they name all the names where it gives all the names and what they helped with, it also states Previously Recorded! Regular tv is not live, programming!

It's that time of year again!!!! :) 🤩😇😊
I recorded this on VHS when it aired, and probably watched it 50 times, thanks for the memories!!!
Because of your recording I can pass this treasure down to my children ! ❤️
I used to have this on VHS. Regrettably I let it slip away from me. So glad to find it here. I really wanted to see it this year.

You know what station this originally aired?
Haha me too
Merry Christmas 2024

The Christmas specials today are horrific! This wasn't perfect but looking at it now, man do I appreciate it! It should be aired again. I love it!!!!!
Oh my! This is my childhood!! Thank you for putting this up! My VHS copy broke years ago!
The voice of an angel🥰
1986
2019 Merry Christmas Everyone and Thank you Amy
bringing back such great memories thanks.
Fun... Last year was 1986...
Thanks for uploading this!!
so good.
Wow what memories. She recorded this before she had any kids! Crazy!
Her voice was young and fresh and full-throated then.
Yes and course, she hadn’t been married that long neither and, yes she did have children by her first husband Gary Chapman though! So, it wasn’t really crazy, people don’t get married to start making babies right away, so, it isn’t that strange!
Sweet voice and meaningful lyrics not some Ho Bo shivering and trembling for her Donkey ride, nice 👍 👌
It's a shame that Art Garfunkel is listening because his voice was fantastic back then. 36:05.
Written by a young Carlton Cuse, the future co-showrunner of LOST . . .
That's AWESOME! 💥
