I made this vid the same day it happened, I just wanted to show you that its not always good. The $30 wasn't a big deal to me, mainly pissed me off. I made this vid in 30 minutes, sorry if its bad. let me know if you've ever gotten scammed⬇
i feel your pain when you get scammed, its horrible
I would report him to the police quietly or something . its called being responsible.
I got scammed for 140 when I first got into it. So glad it wasn't too bad especially since I was using the parts to build my mom a pc to play games with the family
I bought msi b550m pro vdh wifi for 70 canadian dollars thankfully i wasnt scam and a650gl for 30 bucks with 3 years warranty
If getting scammed for 512 instead of 1tb counts i payed 50 cad for 1tb mp600 corsair gen4 but got 512gb in the run
You have to be the worst type of person to scam someone period, let alone for 30 dollars…
wym
@@chrisakadaglitchy2057 think OP saying ur a POS if you scam, let alone scam for 30dollars, dude had balls too cuz they linked up at his place
frr
Send him a fake laptop box with wasps
mark rober glitter bomb
pull up to his home and ask for your $30 back LMAO
exactly lmao
Hows that gonna work? They are just going to ignore him. He cant really do anything about it. Its $30 after all. I also wouldnt waste my time to camp outside someone house for that low amount of money. Scams happen. You cant always win. Sometimes the the game plays you.
…EP 2?
Hey, we have the same name 😄
yeah pull up with the cops 😏
Yeah anything priced that low I basically treat it like I'm going to a casino.
Hey! Nice Job with the Japan Video! I really enjoyed it. Thanks for replying to my comment on it too!
Nah I bought b550m pro vdh wifi for 70 canadian dollars (50 usd) which is 150 cad in amazon (110 usd) And a mag a650gl for 30 bucks with 3 years warranty it depends on who
put the address on doxbin🤣
Don't whoop his ass bro. Not worth your time. Be blessed Elijah
the scammer basically confirmed that he's broke LMAO - this is why you need a mobile testing rig like NerdOnABudget
This is the answer.
If you can’t prove it works then keep it.
Pull up, its not about the money it's about ethics
*It's a shame, I never take anyone's word if it's working unless I see it working. A lot of people play that game where they say it's working but when you ask them to see it working they either not got the time or ignore your messages lol*
If they have proof of it working you’re 99% fine… until you find out the GPU restarts under load.
What can you do about that
@@SirIron23 You can ask them to run a benchmark with the card and video proof that.
@@t0uchmyh0rn I mean if it’s just a board
@@SirIron23 If its an expensive purchase I"ll def check reviews and ratings on the seller to make sure. If I find anything sus I usually just pass and put my money somewhere worthwhile.
In my case, it was a lose-lose situation due to a memory issue. Despite thoroughly checking reviews and testing it in person, there’s always a 1% risk. This is the inherent risk of saving $ locally versus online, unfortunately.
happens to the best of us. Best to just move on and never be like them
That’s rough man. Buddy 100% knew he was scamming, like you said the aggression gives it away instantly 🤦♂️
your composure throughout this is so perfect man im sorry
When I sold my RTX 3070 in person, buyer drove 1hr to me to pickup and I had a video clip showing the GPU works using FH5 benchmark and showing the date on my monitor.
Bro will make the money in a day
that's not the point..
@@Crazy_Sue FR LMAO
@@Crazy_Sue It is tho. Sometimes your time and effort just wont worth it to pull up to someones house and wait until they are no longer ignore you. Elijah's time is money.
@@t0uchmyh0rn It doesn't matter if it's $30 or $3000. It still isn't an excuse to fuck someone over and scam them out of their money. Sure, he could make it back in a day, but as I said, that's not the point of this video. The point is calling out jerks this guy and maybe others won't face the same struggle.
@@Crazy_Sue I understand and yes the point of the video should be to bring awareness to scams and that it happens to the best of us. Calling out a single guy with this big of a platform is not only a bad idea, but Elijah could face serious charges. You cannot possibly think thats a good idea but if you do, i cant help you.
These scammers have been desperate recently… I got burned a couple times these past few months. I don’t even trip anymore, just report them and write it off.
Sorry you went through that god bless you bud you live and you learn every dog has it day and his day will come
Bro I'm sorry you got scammed! This is one of the reasons why I try not to buy used parts off Facebook market. I have and luckily they all work but it's always in the back of my mind that they won't. And keep your head up and keep making great content! I think is dope that you shared is this cuz it can happen to everybody.
00:30 "local deal" then proceeds to drive on the highway... X ) Love you America, never change.
Thanks for keeping it real in the PC flipping game ❤
"what am i gonna pull up and shoot em for $30??.... i don't know" cracked me up lol
Don't sweat it man, chalk it up as an educational business expense. Keep moving forward. You got bigger things ahead. James will continue to suck, while you're out there doing what you love. I'm trying to get into the custom PC sales myself and I've made a couple of gorgeous builds, they're up on PCpartpicker, but they're both made with mostly new parts and they're high end so I'm just hoping to break even and play it way slower. Wait for those screaming deals. Anyway man best of luck to ya, keep on that grind!!
Same thing happened to me like 2 weeks ago, guy said I burned it, i bought it on our local hardware marketplace platform. He had like 100+ feedbacks, after i told him i couldnt get it to post we had a little chat, he called me up calling me a dumb kid, whole time was angry and blamed it all on me. Couldnt do anything sometimes gotta take it and try to be more careful.
Keep up the good work :)
Man that sucks!! You’re not an idiot. But I can’t wait for Sunday!! Have a better week bro.
im so sorry you had to go thru that🤦🏾♂️as much as i wanna say go after him it won't matter, best to just leave it. ppl like that guy will never win in life long-term
always sucks when you get screwed over
File a police report...PD may or may not do anything about it but at least it is on record.
Yeah had a dude scam me for 50 bucks, called the local police station got a reply they called me back and just that spooked the guy enough to give me my money back. But they seemed like they’d actually do something on the matter so you never know
@@Mogooey Same I got scammed for an MSI Tomohawk b550 motherboard that I gavbe the dude $60 for I got my parents to call the police and was able to get my money back, the PCIE slot was about to fall off lol
You could call law enforcement, have them show up. Explain the situation, hand them over the motherboard and let them confront the person. You probably wouldn’t get your money back but maybe them talking to someone else will give him a reality check or get more pissed off.
could return the board to amazon lol
Got scammed like this from Ali express lol. I feel ya man. My nightmare
Nah man no one deserves to be scammed. Flags or not scammers suck.
Ive been scammed for a $250 5700 and a $200 2080ti
i'd get my $30 back in 1 way or another, without physical violence as Im a good law abiding citizen lol
That’s the same thing that just happened to me lol
Guy kept saying it was ram and he blocked me
i got scammed on a motherboard too for $45, when i got home i noticed a capacitor was super loose. i ended up wiggling it and it freaking worked after that
intentional. he did you dirty. if hes a kid, talk to his parents. get your money back. its the principle
Have you put a new CMOS battery? It may sound crazy and people may call me stupid but I had a mobo that wouldn't turn on. Tried different CPU, ram, and nothing. Changed the CMOS battery and it turned on. Worth a shot
Thats actually a thing, he should try that
Agree a dead CMOS battery can prevent a boot. He should just remove it and try without the battery.
I just cleared the cmos and got them same result. Then I replaced the battery and same result
I've had the same issue with 2 motherboards. One motherboard just required me to unplug literally everything aside from the power button and just hold it for 30 seconds if not longer, clear cmos, remove battery and leave it for 30-45 minutes then try again. Another board I had to drench in 90% IPA 3 times and finally got it to work. If nothing is physically wrong, and you're bored and don't mind wasting time there's many things you can try aside from the obvious.
I SAW THIS LISTING i was lowkey gonna buy it but didnt because i wanted a Micro ATX
Let it roll off your back. Buying and selling stuff you are going to run into selfish, irrational people. Got my first 1 star review from a guy who didn't even buy anything from me, was just upset I didn't sell him a 25 dollar junk case.
Got scammed $300 for a RTX 3060ti which i was so heated about.
Yeah honestly just report it and give him a bad rating ive personally haven't been scammed (yet) but now ill have to avoid these kind of people...
What specific CPU did you use, maybe if the Asrock board is on an earlier BIOS version it won't boot with some later Ryzen CPUs (mostly 3xxx onwards)
Ryzen 7 2700x
You can probably sell it for parts and recoup your money. Keep up the good work!
I had a seller get me on a $27 motherboard from eBay, pins are bent.
some motherboards on am4 need a bios update. especially the the x3d chips. how many cpus did u try on it?
Ryzen 5 2600
Ryzen 7 2700x. Maybe I’ll make a vid trying to fix it or do more testing on it. I have a ryzen 5 1600 I can try
I've had 2 of those asrock boards give me issues in the past. They are junk lol
Same thing here, $120 for a RTX 2060 SUPER. Got the address and everything, but it didn't work and I really cant do anything...
It was bound to happen at some point, your good luck spree has come to an end
Steal his package if he buys anything online when it arrives before he cant get it in his hand steal everything and in the same box put a wasp nest then tape it back up and with whatever he ordered give it the next day
Report it to the police about it, if you can still get screenshots of the chat
Sucks man, people are shitty. Quit blaming yourself, you put trust in someone as you should and they failed you as they are a failure of a human being
Bro, same thing just happened to me!
Also. Can it be that the Mobo doesn't handle 20xx, because of a new bios update? (If it does have the support for 50xx, maybe it loses support for 10xx-20xx?)
What do you think that the best budget SSD is? (M.2)
Just $30 not too much too loose but lesson learned
i just got scammed watching this video
did you ask seller with witch cpu model use on moba? or bios version updated? asrock say not recomend use new bios version on old cpu
bro gget a jackery or an inverter for your car so u can test the stuff right there and then
😭😭
Pull up 😂
Sorry to hear that but try to keep calm. I picked up an open box Asus Intel board from Microcenter that was returned by a customer, it didn't post either, I was going to return it but just for fun I tried replacing the cmos battery and I cleared the cmos, on that particular board the cmos clears with a button on the back of the motherrboard, it booted up just fine after clearing the cmos, the factory does not test and setup every board. I also had another old 2016 Intel Asus board and it also stoppped booting up cause it didnt like a video card, to fix it I cleared the cmos by shorting the cmos pins. Alot of boards get locked up due to the cmos or the cmos battery. Exactly how these people are damaging motherboards I don't really know, maybe if ur using it with a bad power supply or bad cpu or bad ram or bad video card but who knows. Double check for any visual damage on the board, use a magnifier glass, double check the cpu socket, the ram sockets, pci sockets, usb sockets, i remember one time the board wouldnt post because a noob shorted the usb socket or plugging in a shorted usb jump drive. A tiny short can make all the difference. I don't know how practical it is but preferably you want to see the components working and you are there in person to test it out, however you can never be 100% for sure because some computer stuff you have to load test using benchmark software and run it for several hours and let the parts get nice and hot and toasty and then see if everything is still stable. And its possible the sellers dont know that their pc components are bad. Just because something boots up and you get a post doesnt really mean anything. Also be careful selling components because alot of people are careless and very low iq, they will buy a pc off of u and theres thousands of ways that they can damage the pc, they take it home and it wont post and then they will be coming for you because they think u sold them something bad. As a buyer or seller its best to do the transaction with the pc running and then say you saw it working so dont be telling me later that its not. Sold As Is. And last its just part of doing business, defective pc parts come with the territory. Roll with the punches. Have a good weekend and God Bless =)
im thinking all who deal with this need to have a setup like danny noab just to check
I understand the feeling completely. Out of the many facebook deals I have done, I have only ever been outright scammed once and the absolute fury that consumes you when you realize what happened is something else. In my case I learned that day to check for burner accounts and to do a better job inspecting for damage. I also now have a preference for porch pickup with the thought being nobody would try and scam if I know where they live. Honestly kinda ballsy of that guy to try and pull that and over $30 too. I'd be worried about some kind of retaliation if I were him.. I hear pizza tastes really good this time of year (:
samething just happened to me with an old lga1151 mobo for $50 lmao what can you do
I only got scammed 2 times one was on ebay i got sent a cpu with bent pins i think i remember correctly it was a ryzen 7 3700x but ebay refunded me and second time was on fb marketplace it was gtx 970 and it did not work at all and dude blocked me it was not a big loss on my end tho i paid $25 but still 25 bucks i still lost my money it is what it is i am more careful looking at deals
It feels criminal being this early
1:14 i mean mans got a point
It’s only $30. Chuck it up to “live and learn” and move on. Yes they’re obviously a POS for doing this but at least it wasn’t an expensive mistake
Boughtn isn't a word
thankfully it was only 30 and not more
Hey man not sure if you're going to see this but I just built a 90$ dollar computer and it runs every game great 100fps + but fortnite will run 135 fps average on performance mode but it keeps randomly drops to 12 fps then right back to the 135 fps
Leak that sh*t bruh
Hey Elijah, I think i kinda got a good deal recently it's
Ryzen 5 3600
GA-A320M-H
GTX 1650 4GB Palit StormX
16GB 3200 DDR4
WD Green 480GB SSD
SPC Elementum E2 550W
And some IBOX Case with rgb
Full working PC was 150$. What would you do next with it? How much you think I can flip it for? Maybe i should change some parts?
Take a friend and go to his house. Get your money
bro watching be like
Have u tried RMA it?
You have his adress, so just left him in front of the door box from idk rtx card, and left shit inside.
Record. Use doorbell. Win.
Got to listen to the signs bro, universe will not lead you astray 😉
Hey, just consider it as part of the game. Think about all the great deals you've scored. Just accept the loss and leave a negative review.
bro you take that risk you know what it comes with and $30 mobo? even if it’s a b450 what’d you expect my man
sue him
30$ bruh be frl rn u getting deals for example 50$ n you cry it down to 45 or even less so y making a big deal of that aint gonna win all the time bruh 😓😐
could be worse its only $30.
sue his ass
Bro I just got scammed and now see this video 😢😢😢😢😢 this guy I ligit call him he said f u and blocks me on everything I tell my friends his number and he closes it 😢😢
Why not get it fixed from the company?
U should go back to his house 😂 honestly not worth the 30 bucks if he lives far just take the L on this one
Bro just tank the 30 buckaros man recently me and my friend got scammed for 750 euro so that sucks :(
just say: man, i dont care. i have your adress, if you dont refund me, ill involve the police. i got scammed once too, and it solved the problem easily.
BIOS?
Us bro us
the thumbnail...
Enjoy the $1 i sent lol
Next time Bring your equipment to test out the components that you buy so this won't happen next time. The process will take long but will leave you to be satisfied and sure of what you are buying. But yeah L scammer
Your scamming everyone else by selling everything for such huge profits when they arent even that good you deserved it!
Least it wasn’t too expensive
that is the only plus side, but 30 mins of driving and about an hour of trouble shooting. Time wasted
Dude. It's $30.00. Yea it sucks to be on the bad end of this. but maybe this is not intentional. You can leave feedback for the transaction? I would leave a professional negative review. Hang in there! Surprised you haven't had this happen more with all the transactions you do.
Not intentional? He got blocked
100%. This is part of the deal flipping PCs, it sucks but it happens.
Yeah the money wasn't a big deal. It just pissed me off
@@ElijahsLab You're right, I agree it's not about the money. Keep at it man, I love your content.
When buying AM4 motherboards, unlock the latch and check the pins under light to ensure all of them are shining gold. If any of them looks blackened, there is a chance the motherboard is dead.
It’s always an AMD mobo that seems to be the center of a scam lmao
I’ve gotten scammed only three times in my 2 years of doing hardware swaps and trades, and they were a MSI B550M, HP B450M, and an Asrock B350M. Sellers would leave me on read or something to that degree. They’d also sell for cheap. So they got their five-guys order money and scrammed. Weirdos.
