Actually, the worst that can happen is an allergic reaction. My poor sister developed an allergy to hair dye, her whole face swelled up, she was making Quasimodo jokes for like 5 days. Thankfully she didn't need to go the hospital as it quit getting worse immediately when she rinsed the color off.

@lorraineburnett2973 ya ... i have had exzema my whole life and have random reactions to stuff all the time, so she was exposed to that kind of stuff really young. Which probably helped her know how to handle it. But yes she was super lucky.

I was worried about that when I took my son at 16 to my salon to have his virgin hair bleached then dyed purple. So my hair dresser did a trans test and thankfully, he was fine. He said it was tingly while it’s on the head but that’s normal 😊
Thank you for not shaming box dye. I’ve used the same color for years and really like it. I hate doing it myself, but the result is good and my hair seems to stay pretty healthy. I feel like so many hairdressers love to put down people with hair they color themselves.
You can also color your hair with professional hair dye and developer at home (you can order them online) there is no need to use box dye, since you don't even know what volume developer it comes with.

Me too. I just use medium brown and I've never used bleach thank goodness.
HAIR BUDDA- I owned a salon for several years and I can’t tell you the number of customers that came in for color corrections. MANY times ADULT WOMEN would be upset about the products they bought from GROCERY stores 😱 because it didn’t look like the picture on the box PLUS if you can believe it, many told me they thought the product was suppose to “know” or automatically differentiate between hair it should lift and hair it should not 😵💫🤯 I used my poker face I used for when my children would say or do funny, ridiculous things so I wouldn’t shame them but it was hard! I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! I agree with helping because people WILL do this anyway! When I taught at a beauty school it was even WORSE. I pray you & yours be blessed!🥰

My hair was "frizzy" I went from slick straight to frizzy. My stylist said I think your hair is curly. She put a curly hair product on my hair and I'll be darned if she wasn't right. My hair looks like I have a loose perm. All natural. Insane but as you get older things change. My hair changed.

Mine changed colour when I got pregnant. Each time it got a little darker. Then, when I was very sick, it got curly. It’s now straight again, but my greys are curly! 🤷🏼♀️
Wow, that’s awesome! My mom has naturally REALLY curly hair but neither me nor my sister got the curls, we both have pin straight hair. It’s cool to think it could change!

😮 mine was wavy, then after my son, started to curl, some parts are almost ringlets now!! I paid sooo much money for a spiral perm in the 90s 😂😂😂

I'm a hairdresser in the UK, and I have some customers that bring a box dye, and I put it on for them correctly and as the box says with no problems at all .

Box bleaches and bleach kits are usually 40 volume. I did mine a peekaboo with a bleach kit and it worked because I was careful with the time and placement. And I also used it on my friend who now has a strip of pink hair.

Always check ur box color , bleavh kits, like walmart ect. I saw people would switch the stuff with other boxes.
Another great video, thank you (and thank you for the video you posted a while back on going darker. I took your advice and have gone from blonde to red with no problems (I refilled my hair as per your guidance) and have got a lovely, even, vibrant result using Igora Vibrance 6/78)

We are able to return most things in the US, but it’s been really heavily socialized into us by retailers to expect it to suck, the whole time. Stores seem to have made it a hassle. Sure, it’s allowed, but there’s 15 cashiers and 1 person at customer service who can process a return.
It’s even annoying online with a lot of retailers. It’s allowed, it’s free, but it’s going to take a bit to get someone to talk to and authorize it.
I had used a product called Splat and it turned out purple. It was supposed to wash out after 4 weeks, but it didn't. Prior to this I had dark brown virgin hair. So after 4 1/2 months of the color bleeding I decided to bleach it. I followed the hair buhdas advice from the multitude of videos and it turned out fantastic! I used Feria Metallics and first used one that lightened 8 levels. The roots were a beautiful blond and the purple parts turned a fantastic pink! I loved it. Then 3 weeks later I did it again with a platinum bleach, same brand, and the roots are platinum and the rest is a pale pink. In 3 more weeks I will use Feria's toner to finish. Yesterday I went to the grocery store two days after the 2nd bleaching and I had 7 random women approach me in the store, individually, and tell me how cool my hair looked. It's healthy, no damage, is soft and I love it. Thank you for your videos, tips, and great advice!!❤❤❤
When I used to use box dye (haven't used box dye in years now) I always made sure I had 2 or 3 boxes depending on my hair length. Because I have alot of hair (not really thick hair I just have alot) I always made sure I had more than I needed because I knew 1 wouldn't be enough. If I only used 2 then I'd keep the 3rd one for next time or to do regrowth

I used some Schwarzkopf blond dye before going for full no-chemicals 9 years ago, and the result was really good on my grey hair. But I was blond and it happened to be so close to my original color it was really nice looking. I used it 4 times a year during two years - before I realized it absolutely fried my waist-long hair :-( I cut 50 cms, and went for Yemen henna. Been a ginger since then and absolutely loving it :-) 2 years after I choped the last cms of hair that met chemicals, and now I stay very far away from them. No more hazardous colors, no more fried, and loving the look and color :-)

Thank you for making these hair/bleach/dye fail videos! As a result, when I decided to do color, I skipped the boxes and went straight to the salon. The best thing is that my hairdresser uses maximum 20 volume!
Never heard of being able to return unopened box dyes in Brazil, but even then I agree it's better to buy two boxes if you're unsure that one is enough. If you have a leftover unopened box you can always re use it if you like the colour when you go back to touch up the re growth

I’ve realized that the best way to stand out with your hair is to do nothing to it! I’m 50, and have very dark blonde hair. Nobody my age has my hair colour. They all highlight it, dye it, glaze it, etc etc etc. It’s kind of funny that nobody has their natural colour!
❤ I'm 57, got long hair to middle of back, haven't coloured or bleached (lowlights) since my 20's. Hardly grey, naturally brown thanks to genetics 😊 i have had people ask me what colour i use in my hair😂😂😂 so 🤣🤣🤣 it costs too kuch to even get it cut and dried here🇦🇺

Happiness is Hair Buddha ❤️ Many years ago I had black hair several hairstylists told me what it would take to lighten my hair. I decided to be patient and let it all grow out and start fresh. Oh to be young and giggle at our mistakes
It took me a long time to realize the box die makes your hair unmanageable. I couldn't brush it EVER! It took years to have manageable hair. Good luck to these ladies. Hopefully they find out sooner than I did. 😂❤

I love my natural hair color. I'm 58 and still have mostly brown with beautiful natural auburn highlights, and just a few silver strands here and there. And i love the silver so even when it goes more silver, im not ever coloring it!
I did this in college. Orange roots, brown lengths. I just decided to pay my penance and like an idiot for a few months.
My Redken leave in conditioner is my absolute saving grace when it comes to my frizz, you can put so much in and it doesn't feel at all greasy or heavy, it just soaks in and eventually just leaves my hair looking nicer than it ever has

I panicked for a second when I saw which product the first one had, as I very recently decided that it was the best option for me. But it's cool, I've got shortish thin hair yet bought 2 boxes! I have virgin hair, the last of the highlights got chopped off over a year ago! And my hair is a medium brown so I've gone for the "bronde" shade.

In America you can return between 30 and 90 days depending on the item. Food usually doesn't get returned but you can still be refunded.

I transformed my hair into silver,stopped dying my hair from May 2021, it is very beautiful and healthy, the frizzy hair disappeared, whoever see me asking if it is natural or highlights, many encouraged to do the same , trust me it is amazing and stress free, all hair salons frying my hair, I go to 5 star ones and burn my hair… paying a lot for treatments, all these now is history, first few months ( I cut pixie to get rid of my old thousand layers of colors on my hair 😜) you still have low confidence, after you have it all silver , you will love it.

I’m from Canada 🇨🇦 and we can most definitely take back an unopened box of box colour or box bleach as long as the safety sticker hasn’t been tampered with.
My teacher in hairstyling school had an awesome saying which I still say to people today to correct them. Hairdressers colour, people Dye(Die).
My practical teacher did not like
It when we called colouring hair dyeing hair. So she always corrected us with that saying and it’s stuck with me still, over 15 years later. 😊

In the US, Walmart says it can be returned as long as it is sealed. They usually have clear tape over the openings.

I did dyed my dark blonde hair for the first time ever using a Clairol Blonde kit. It came out a really pretty Strawberry-Blonde color. I loved it! After that, I colored my hair black mostly. It’s back to its natural color now though, with some gray in it. I don’t intend to dye it ever again.

In the USA you can return almost anything....unopened, opened, damaged, partially used, used....ESPECIALLY if it's Walmart
I used to use boxed dye, it was fine to go to darker colors. But when I had regrowth I would color my whole head. I ended up having over processed hair. I went to a Cosmetology school to have them work on me to fix it, they asked me to promise to stop using boxed dyes. Haha I haven’t touched one since.

I don't really understand the obsession of many women/teenage girls to have platinum blonde hair there are many interesting hair tones brownish, reddish or even other blonde tones which are not platinum ones and If they want a extreme make over they can buy wigs there are lots of them with different lengths and colours. The first woman is obvious that her natural color was not black notice her eybrows she maybe had or light brown or dark blonde What did she expect to become blonde with black dyed hair??? She should have gone to the hairdresser to advice about hair color and tones . The teenage girls made a terrible mistakes due to her age and it's to bad because the girl was originally blonde and she could have chosen another blonde lighter( not platinum) which fit her more having lighter hair gives you more freedom to chose colours which fits you finally she realised of her mistake and went to the salon to fix the disaster applying highlights which fit her better😂😂
It's because of Targaryens. Then there's the witcher. People don't appreciate having individuality. I had very nice honey blonde hair but a few hairs dressers told me it was yellow/orange (it wasn't) and convinced me to go lighter. The biggest mistake. Now I am ginger, I color it by myself and don't listen to anyone any more.

I use box dye. I use casting creme gloss. I'm a natural blonde and I use ash blonde. Never had any issues.
i use a box dye, evry few weeks i use a third of the box on my temple patches, then use a whole box evry 6-12 weeks. i mix it in a bowl and use a brush, i never mix in the bottle. but i have the sense to have a shade very close to my natral colour and i have very long hair
Speaking of the frizz and no moisture. Any recommendations for someone who has naturally dry curly hair made into sage brush by medication? Have tried everything from the inexpensive to the expensive to rejuvenate the hair. Masks, oils, conditioners, all of them. Didn’t know if there was a special something that could be tried.
Me too. My hair is fizzy, curly, and straight - seriously, it looks like it has multiple personality disorder, do to medications. I am curious about the 'protein' he speaks of - what exactly does that mean? Should I rub eggs on my head?
I have frizzy, wavy, straight and ringlets 😮😮😮😮 but one thing i do know is, rice water rinse did not work for me. Totally straightened and dried it even more, i too have tried all kinds. Only thing that has worked is fructis macadamia hair food. In tub , not expensive, used as hair mask 1 x month.

I always did box dye red
I use blond box dye to remove haircolor. Even black. And it has removed better than bleach from black to close to blonde. So basically it's all about hair and how it reacts... my hair keeps even semi permanent color longer in than box tells me, but also as easy to remove color😅 now I got gorgeous red color and before it black hair and used only 2 full blond box dyes and one halfway through, but luckily my friend wanted stripes so I put it on his hair😁
Any advice on what to use for loss of hair. This is the 3rd time it is falling out due to ill health and the demon antibiotic Metronidazole! First time lost 80% second time 60% it grew back both times. I have fine hair but lots of it. Im no longer on antibiotics and have had to start Hormone Replacement Therapy about a year ago. My old shampoo and conditioner are just not working the same and ive tried a host of others but nothing seems to be making my hair look soft and shiny. Im so confused as to what to try now.😢

I Germany you can return online ordered items within 14 days after delivery without telling a reason. But this is only for original boxed and not opened items.
If you buy it I a salon or store, it’s up to them. Usually they take it back within 14-30 days with the receipt. BUT most of the time you do not get a refund, you get a coupon so you can buy some other stuff in that store. It’s all to the policy of the store.
And another fun fact is, that people who sell the stuff here in salons or so do tell you NOT to go over 9-12% hydrogen peroxide 😅
But I don’t know if German % is the same as % in other countries 🤷♀️
