Protip: If you call your video of making an indexable collect holder "Making an indexable collect holder", people will find your video when they look for content about indexable collect holders. But if you call it some BS title like "Mechanism that changed metalworking", nobody will find your video. Food for thought.
Collet not collect!
It will also stop people skipping to the end, to see what is being made. And then not bothering to watch the actual video
Good call
GREAT !!Thanks !! your words are perfect ! You spoke to me without them.
Making a collet chuck that has zero runout far more difficult .how much runiut .you dont show that .
MASHA.ALLAH
Great job I would have done the milling first before the turning so it could be centered all depends on what you are making just my opinion
Love watching your videos on machining
You're right! Thank you so much friend!
It looks nice when finished. However, in your order of operations you have no guarantee that the hex OD is concentric with the collet.
That's for sure.
Merci pour le partage de vos vidéos
Merci mon ami et bienvenue🙂
Love it. Beautiful shop. //ji
Good clean worker = good clean work!!
Thank you very much bro
👍 ! Saved some money and had fun doing it ! Win win ! 😉
I've made collet blocks for 5C. But not the square and hex ones. I made ones with 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 sides. Did all the internal work first and then honed the bore to a sliding fit on a ground bar stock 1.250" in diameter. I then did the milling with the a piece of ber stock thru the center. With the bar stock eupported in .500"/12.7mm vee plates. Milled one side. Rotated to register against an angle block of the correct angle. Then surface ground all sides using 1.000" bar stock held in a preision 5C collet and an angle plate. Indexed using angle blocks. Within .0002" on all sides for each block. Each bl9ck marked with centerline height.
👍👍👍
Interesting project. Good editing. Very funny dog.
Great job, thank you.
Briliant work, my friend👍👍👍
Thank you very much, friend😉
Awesome Idea.
excellent idea!👍👍👍
Thanks, bro
Thanks, my friend
excellent ca evite bien des tracas avec j y ai jamais pensé merci
👍👍👍👍👍
👍🤝🙏
Excellent job.
You are a much better machinist than am I. But I have to ask--- How confident are you in the accuracy of that cold drawn hex bar that you started with?
Thanks ❤❤❤
👍🤝🙏
Good work🎉
Thank you my friend and welcome
Neat idea. It’s ironic the company who invented the ER collet products are insanely expensive that most of us can’t afford them and resort to other means.
👍👍👍
Nice Croc's.
5C collet in a hex collet block or in a spin indexer works too.
That was my thought as well. Could add an ER holder to a collet for more sizes, smaller stuff.
What lathe do you have? Merci
Nice part. Saves time and money.
Keep on rocking !
PS: very sympathetic are your greetings in the camera !! 😊
Hi Nice Job and nice to see the dog back in the work shop with you. Is it not time to make a power feed for you mill ??? From Brian w.germany
Thank you very much, my friend
Buena idea 👍
👍🤝🙏
How is the concentricity?
Oh! que mechanism!.
Did I miss the bit where you ensured that the hole was concentric with then Hex block??? Just a normal collet block .
How is a basic collet block an "idea"?
Welcome!
Thats funny that I see this today as I am in the process of making one today.!
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Setting the angle purely based on the graduations on your cross slide is not accurate enough IMHO.
Near enough when accuracy is unimportant.
i am working on lathe and i will tell you some suggestions first you dont using power feed for turning so your chips are soo long try use it second that knife is not for chamfering but for tapping
Thank you! Welcome
Amazon sells that hex collet block for less than $50. Just sayin!
Thanks, but it's easier for me to do it myself.
I still don't know what that is
It's a collet block, and a very nice one. It's a very useful tool.
Its not a new idea......been about for ever.
Welcome
I Don't see ! Anything ! AMAZING ! About people like you ! Making ! Some part ! That's Commercial ly available ! ALLREADY ! With Commercial styles Tools ! That you have decided to go and buy at the SHOP !!
Welcome🙂
@@CoolIdeasDIY-qv1nz Show me ! That you ! Can make this part ! BETTER ! Without your LATHE ! AND MILLING MACHINE !
coolest!
Welcome!
You look plain. We're happy now.
Das hat mal wirklich die Branche der Metallverarbeitung komplett verändert , habe meine CNC sofort in den Schrott geworfen , was eine Innovation !! 🤦♀👎
Welcome!!!
