Basically human/icenes used to rule moritania vampyres took over you take down the vampyres and learn what a wyrd is part human part icene part vampyre
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!! Noone makes lore videos on OSRS and the few that do are not nearly to this quality. Extremely well done and to the point. Definitely subscribing and watching all your vids
Ive struck gold. Just yesterday I sat and read through pages on the osrs wiki trying to piece together the lore and then this! The lore of Runescape is honestly quite amazing and in depth so to have a channel that appears to be focusing on that aspect is unbelievable! Keep this up man and you will truly go far and have your name cemented in the RS Community
I'm glad you think so, thank you! I hope so haha, you are 100% right aswell - the lore is amazing and in depth, there's A LOT that's given to us and even more that's tucked away in books and notes within the game. Hope to be able to share that lore with everyone!
This is the content I've been looking for, for ages J1mmy briefly covers what's go ons in quests in his By Release series but sometimes I wanna know seriously what the story is about 😂
This was easily one of the most intriguing and fun quests they've made! It was very exciting to learn more about the Zarosian empire, and the new bosses are very well designed (good loot too!)
I think my favorite parts were seeing how they deviated from the RS3 quests. With the Frostenhorn and Barrows Icon out of the picture, Azzanadra can't establish a connection with Zaros (no curses prayer book for us!) and Sliske's played his hand far earlier than he intended to in Ritual of the Mahjarrat. Between that and us backing the Zamorakians instead of the Zarosians up to this point, the balance of power has shifted, and the Ritual of the Mahjarrat is likely to end very differently. To say nothing of what we learned in Lassar about the source of Sliske's shadow magic. I've seen that pillar before...
Completely agree with you! When writing the script for the video, I did glance into the RS3 side of the quests (as you mentioned, Azzanadra can't establish a connection since he's missing key parts) and it's a great how the deviations have amounted from small decisions that will impact the future of OSRS Gielinor in a very different way compared to RS3. There's a lot of talk about "The North" and they did add a VERY interesting statue south of Ghorrock, so all I can say is I'm very excited to see how the OSRS team take this storyline further
One thing I'd love to see is a parallel to The World Wakes, where Guthix actually sees the timeline in which he perishes but makes no effort to try and protect himself because he believes in balance and will allow events to take their course without interference. Not outright telling the player or anything, moreso cryptically referring to Sliske's shenanigans in the RS3 timeline. Would be so cool for them to use Guthix as the bridge between both worlds.
This is so perfect dude. Every1 in RS makes jokes about not caring about lore but when the cards are dealt and chips r down, many players, like myself, care about lore
Just the kind of video I was looking for. Fantastic summary of a fantastic quest. Really like how they are clearly going for a darker tone than in RS3, which is nice given they confirmed we won't be meeting the gods. So now other characters and stories can take center stage.
Silske is easily the greatest character rs has ever made. I watched his entire lore from rs3. Hes an amazing puppet master and they did his character amazingly. I cant wait to see what osrs does with him and i hope they keep his legacy just as good as rs3 has.
I felt so bad when it is revealed that all the npc you helped were already dead, I was so happy to see another Imcando dwarf and that she was able to escape and I was really happy to see that Wizard Persten survived the scar, and then my heart was smashed knowing that they were death for a long time 💔
Yeah it was a shock to the system honestly - just goes to show you how low Sliske will go to achieve his own goals, and there may be more Imcando dwarves coming in the future! There's rumours that Varlamore has a settlement in the Avium Savannah, so we'll have to see. But rest assured, I feel your pain dude - especially with Wizard Persten
@@mushguy Within Desert Treasure 2 most likely, but during the events of the Temple of the Eye she seemed relatively unassuming to me at least? If she was always Sliske then that means the Order of Wizards was infiltrated a while ago
Yeah you can go and speak to the other wizard you met in the temple of the eye quest who stands outside the gotr portal and tell him about finding persten in dt2, and you come to the conclusion that the real persten died a long time before you ever met her. so during the guardians of the rift quest she was actually sliske the whole time
Hell yes man, I've been so desperate for good OSRS lore videos and this is really scratching my itch! Please make some more going over things like Xeric or Dragonkin, loved this!
Great video man! I would love some spekulation videos about what could happen at the Ritual and potential quests from the other known Mahjarat, based on information we already have. Also spekulation about the connection between the pillar found in the church of the silent chour and Xau-Tak could be interesting. Anyways keep up the good work!
This is great! I loved this quest, and I'm really hoping they deviate more from RS3's timeline. I love all the Mahjarat stuff, but I just can't abide the end of The World Wakes where the gods just... show up? And they're like, people? Not cool esoteric transpersonal conscious entities, but like, guys standing there wearing clothes. What a weird materialist direction to take things in, I really didn't care for it.
Really enjoyed this! I think you did a great job of going through the quest at a good place, I do wish the music would have been a little quieter or your voice a little louder relatively to it.
Thank you, I'm glad you did! I appreciate the criticism aswell, I've heard that a few times now - so going to adjust audio levels going forward :) Appreciate you leaving a comment!
Loved the video as usual :), thanks for covering my suggested topic so quickly. One quick question, do we know more about the mysterious stranger or who her master is?
Thank you! Always happy to cover topics you guys wanna hear about :) Regarding the Mysterious Stranger/Figure, there's very little known - towards the end of the quest, Hazeel does say "Your minion failed to recover even one of the medallions" to Enakhra, so the biggest connection we have is Enakhra being the figure's master. It's likely that she has multiple resources available, so it'd be good for that side of the lore to be expanded upon in a future quest (which I really do believe there will be one in the works)
Thank you! Funny you should say that, it's something I'm looking into currently! Considering the amount of hints we've been getting about future quests, it's definitely an avenue I want to explore, especially since "What If" contexts are so open ended!
I think you've got a great niche here mate. Both rs3 and osrs are lacking someone willing to put this together. Not even watched the video yet and I know it'll be good. Keep going, you'll get some recognition soon 😊
Do you really think you can save them? There's a lot more going on with what's going on in lassar than what we see in the quest. I'd suggest looking into Xau-Tak related things on rs3 :)
I appreciate the suggestion! I can say I've noted it down as something to investigate, and have glanced at different resources, so it will definitely be covered :)
RS3 Azzanadra: Disguised as dr. Nabanik Osrs Azzanadra: Disguised as dr. Banikan RS3 Sliske: Controls barrows brothers and other souls while stealing super powerful elder artifact. Osrs Sliske: Controls barrows brothers and other souls while stealing super powerful zarosian artifact. Man I really like how RS3 team insists on not bringing stuff from osrs or when they do it is vastly different, while osrs team is like "Can I borrow your homework? Don't worry I change some words and maybe make it a bit better."
Good video, just one thing, Sliske's pronunciation is actually 2 syllables. You got the first syllable right, the second is prounced like saying the letter K
Oh right! Thank you, will remember that for future videos. Part of the challenge has been trying to learn how to say all the different names within Gielinor so I appreciate the help!
This is good. I have 1 bit of constructive feedback: my hearing is a little fucked, and I found it hard to hear/understand you a lot more than most youtube creators. If you tighten up your audio a bit or take the time to add accurate subtitles it would help me and I think it would probably increase your viewership. Otherwise, great content.
Thanks! I appreciate the time you took to watch and comment, and I'll bear that in mind - I realise the accent is a bit more different than most content creators. Plan is to lower the music a bit, but the subtitles are a good idea! Will explore that. Thank you again!
Your accent is part of it, but i think it has more to do with your pacing. Your intro was a lot easier to hear than the audio later on. I've listened to some audiobooks about voice acting, and they consistently encourage new voice actors to speak as slowly as they can when recording, because we tend to speak much faster than we think we do and more often than not end up leading from one word directly into the next without actually stopping in between. It takes longer to listen than it does to speak.
OSRS Lore is actually very good! I never spacebar through quests. I am a lore and quest enthousiast. I find it a bit saddening that so many people skip the dialogues and just use quest helper to breeze them through everything. Can you really even say you deserve a quest cape if you have done almost nothing yourself?
I'm glad to hear it! The quest dialogue for OSRS is some of my favourite out of any RPG honestly, especially with how self aware it is at times. Had a lot of fun figuring out DT 2 without much assistance
I can't follow the video nor do I care about runescape lore but I'll drop a like and sub because you might be the first lore based creator I've seen and it's done well. Gl sir I hope the channel goes far. Thanks for not making another pvp rebuild series.
