I sure miss Guam. I was stationed at the naval air base back in the mid 80's with VQ-1... Many wonderful memories, I love Guam...Someday I will return !
I LOVE GUAM!... I Lived in Guam for 2 years! Loved it!.. I miss the Natural Beauty & the Wonderful Fiestas!.. One of the Most Beautiful thing about Guamanian Culture are the Fiestas!!! If you are driving and see a party at a house you can just pull over & go in and ALL are welcome to walk in a strangers house and enjoy the Incredible Food!
I love Guam and miss the undeveloped Guam, before international air travel into the island. It was pristine, NO hotels on the coastline. ONE hotel in Tumon, The Red Carpet. Their restaurant was our prom destination each year. Cocos Island was an R&R destination for local military. We stayed in WW11 era quanset huts. Cocos was deserted.
Loved it. Although I’m ftom Hawaii, I grew up on Guam. I know Mike James from going to the same church (Guam Bible church in Ordot) I know his whole family, such wonderful folks. We lived in Dededo from 1974-1985. My Dad was a harbor pilot at Apra Harbor.

everybody that loves Guam always leaves because you cant find a decent job ,a place to live , or someone to fall in love with..guam is a post card you look at and forget
Went back to Guam and Saipan for the first time in almost 20 years last year, and was really amazed at how much more developed and upscale Guam has become. On the other hand, Saipan seems to be slowly decaying, with the Japanese tourists flocking to Guam and hardly in evidence in Saipan.

1970'S Navy, the guamanians were friendly back then too.
We were there from 82-84 ad it was Beautiful then. Hubby was stationed at Anderson Af Base. Met a lot of great people there.
i'll take guam the way it was 50+ years ago. untouched...pristine.
