      The channel order seems to depend on the setup of your multiprotocol module. Mine is flashed with the AETR version, so I had to map it in that order to get it to operate properly. I also had to swap some channels in the output.

    This video really is useful and makes Taranis more of an option and less a 1 shot deal....it is great to see some innovation in the radio side of the hobby and great to see a decrease in monopolistic tendencies especially given the fact that it was the openness that got Taranis started in the first place. Thanks, Lee:-)

    there some HARDWARE CHANGES to the 3rd batch of radiomaster t16s (got mine just a few days ago hallsensor version) the protective film on the touch screen doesn't have a grid pattern on it that so many thought to be the touch screen pattern, there's a larger louder speaker installed in the back cover not in the back of the grid in front so two halves are now connected by two cables, probably important info for anybody opening the radio for the first time and the project box is replaced with a simple flat plastic cover and you get extra screen protector in the box.

      @@graywoulf no grid pattern at all and no speaker is not in jr bay its somewhere in the back right side corner, there was always a designated place for a speaker there. I'm not sure but I think only the review samples and maybe the first batch of radios had a small speaker in the front

    For the screen, imo (and I've got a tx16s) the touchscreen will be super nice. I'm already sorta finding myself pressing the screen to try do stuff like widgets lol. Also, if you go to system > hardware > analog you can test the screen and I can confirm that it's both accurate and sensitive enough.

      @12beemer34 4 роки тому

      @@gautamkrishna7421 I'm still learning this TX. I did find a bug, maybe you can see if yours does the same. In system/hardware/debug if I debug "switches" first I can see all switches work properly. But if I debug "analogs" (testing the screen) and THEN go back to "switches" I find that all switches work except SB. Once I select "down" on SB it freezes. All other switches continue to work but SB stays frozen in the down position. I have to do a power reset to get it to start working again. I looked on OpenTX for any open issues like this but I didn't see one.

    One thing puzzles me about the 5-in-1 supporting FrSky/FlySky etc. and R9 - there's only one antenna.

    • @WrongWayFPV

    What kind of cable (3,5 mm jack stereo or mono) were you using to connect the radio's together in the master/slave test that you did? Just asking because some people noted it did not always work on a Jumper T16 as master, while connected to a X9D+ as slave. It seems also related to the cable used and the version of OpenTX, but not always.

    Great T16S videos! Thanks very much for the info! I have questions about this radios compatibility with a Wireless Training Mode called MASTER/SBUS
    I'm into this Wireless Training using the OTx Trainer Mode: MASTER/SBUS which passes the trainee's stick data thru the radio board to the model in flight.
    But: What I can't get Banggood or Radiomaster Tech support to answer are these question: if I insert a DIY 4:1MPM into the JR slot will it Bind with the Trainee's radio wireless link and work in this MASTER/SBUS mode in the normal FrSky D16 protocol or any other?
    Also, If ia T16S can support SBUS via D16 on the trainer link, can I use the T16S's "Internal MPM that comes standard in this radio with an ASSAN or a DSM2 mode Rx bound to the model's INTERNAL MPM radio link at the same time?
    Will this SBUS mode also work with the XM+ FrSky Receiver that's in a Linker II module?
    I have had the radio on Order since 23 March but it's delayed and not due to ship till 29May. This is important to me since currently I can't use wireless training with anything BUT models with FrSky Receivers in them and I have lots of other receiver types in park flyer models i do not needed to use telemetry with, but I'd still like to let my grandson's train on them too.

    @Painless360 - Thank you for this great video. However i still have a few questions. I am a Spektrum user and find this radio interesting.
    1) Is the 2,4 Ghz DSMX range the same compared to a DX9 transmitter (the one i have now)?
    2) Is Spektrum telemetry supported and able to be shown on the TX16S display? I cant find anything on the net about this.
    3) I have heard that some would not use this TX for big expensive planes/helis - why not? I it not as good and other brands when it comes to range and stuff like that? It seems to that TX16S is at least as good as my Spektrum DX9 when it comes to build quality and materials. My DX9 is plastic all the way and has an extra antenna (diversity) in the handle - the TX16S has not.
    I hope you or someone else can comment on this - and especially signal quality and range is important to me if i should switch to a Radiomaster TX16S. THANKS !

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 роки тому +1

      1) Check out the video in the playlists the DSM power is 100mW. Depends on what power your existing radio is..
      2) Last time I tried it, it worked. See the Wiki for latest details...
      3) The radio is still very new so for many pilots they need some time to develop the level of trust in the radio and technology to trust it to an expensive model.
      It'll be worth a watch of my videos in the playlist for this radio, best of luck!

    Hi, what about the support for the new FrSky ACCESS protocol? To my knowledge, neither the Jumper T16, T18 nor the Radiomaster TX16S support this new protocol ?! So if you choose a Jumper T16, T18 or Radiomaster TX16S, this means in the same breath, a future without FrSky, since FrSky will only release receivers with the new ACCESS protocol in the future and not with the ACCST protocol. Do I understand this correctly? From this point of view, I would very much like to know your opinion. FrSky X9D Plus SE 2019 or would you prefer Jumper T16, T18 or Radiomaster TX16S?

      @@Painless360 Thanks for the fast respond. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an advocate of FrSky or any other manufacturer. I'm a model sport returner and I'm currently in the process of building a new setup. I'm just unsure which manufacturer to rely on. For this reason my request for advice. I have no desire to invest approx. 270 euros in a FrSky X9D Plus SE 2019 transmitter in order to be on the wrong way. As I understand you now, the Radiomaster TX16S would definitely be a good choice and any future ACCESS support is very likely. However, the Jumper T18 will soon be on the market and the specifications don't sound bad - if not very good. Does the 5-in-1 module make any sense in Germany - can I even use it? Say - should I better wait for the Jumper T18? My planned model setup would have been a 2 meter glider with a FrSky X9D Plus SE 2019 and the FrSky Archer GR8, which has already integrated the Vario. In addition, I would have connected a liposensor. If I should now choose the Radiomaster TX16S or optionally the Jumper T18, which receiver and which telemetry components could I use instead? The Archer GR8 would then no longer be an option due to the ACCESS protocol? I sincerely hope that you can give me a supportive answer and thank you in advance for your efforts. Best regards

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 роки тому

      That answer is a much longer one and potentially subject to a lot of personal bias by all who answer it. FrSky started out creating the products we all wanted - a cheap, powerful radio that we could rely on for a lot less than vendors like Futaba, Spektrum, Aurora and others. Sadly as they have grown that spirit of innovation and risk taking has gone and they now appear more focussed on changes to limit the ability of 3rd parties to work with their kit. Other vendors like Jumper, Radiomaster and others are now driving the innovation and set becoming what FrSky was 5 years ago. If you're starting out then both are good choices, for pilots like me with lots of investment in FrSky kit that seem hell bent on no longer supporting vendors like RadioMaster feel more like they embody the spirit of the hobby I love.. Hope that helps.

    • @Dominik-pv4dl
      @Dominik-pv4dl 4 роки тому

      @@Painless360 I like your passion for the hobby! I understand your opinion / position and can understand it very well. Companies like these should "support" each other, spur each other on to achieve their best, or at least, in terms of innovation, not slow each other down due to their own current lack of innovation. The original basic idea, the spirit, should finally stay alive! Because everything else brings nothing to the end of the day! But I also think that FrSky should have learned this lesson and hopefully will now appreciate how much their customers have supported and believed in them over the years. Also, they shouldn't forget that customers are always the backbone of every company! FrSky has brought many great innovations to the market in the past and has supported us with this, in our beloved hobby, and given us many hours of joy. Therefore, I also believe that we, as customers, should not completely ignore this in the current situation. I don't want to pretend that Frsky has really messed up and that their current "business practices" are definitely very questionable. But everyone makes mistakes, and FrSky also has potential, we all know from the past. So let's work together again on "SPIRIT" and the products we all want. At this point I would like to thank you again for your support. I will think again now and then hopefully make a wise decision. All the best!
