it snowed in Yuma, AZ (my home town) on Dec 12, 1932. Long before I was around to see it. I didn't experience snow first hand until I was 19-20 when I briefly lived in Prescott AZ
We moved from Arizona recently, and I remember reading a story that when it snowed in Yuma, it was overnight. Since city officials knew it would melt by morning, the emergency vehicles turned on their sirens, so kids could wake up and see the snow.
A friend from the tropics, who had never seen snow, thought it was fall-out from an atomic bomb, and got very scared... took some time to get him out to play with it...
Some great geography surprises: Montreal, Quebec is farther south than Trieste, Italy. Toronto, Ontario is on the same latitude as the northern coast of Spain. Cape May, New Jersey is farther south than Newport, Kentucky.
Amazing... especially when it comes to Alaska. I'm obsessed with that American state which to me seems like a far away country. Thanks for that interesting fact about it.

8:17 1. It's not the largest monument in the world, it's just claimed to be the largest pyramid. 2: From looking it up and doing the math on how big it is, I feel like it's not actually the biggest pyramid. Unless the dimensions listed online are wrong, it's smaller than the Great Pyramid of Giza. Giza's dimensions are 230.3m X 230.3m, and 138.5m tall which comes out to ~2.45 million cubic meters for a pyramid Cholula's dimension are 300m X 315m, and only 25m tall, which is ~790000 cubic meters, or less than 1/3 of the volume. Even if you were to take those dimensions and make a rectangular prism, it'd still have a smaller volume than the Great Pyramid of Giza. So either the dimensions listed online for the Cholula Pyramid are wrong, or it's not actually the largest pyramid in the world.
