One-Punch Man (Japanese: ワンパンマン, Hepburn: Wanpanman) is a Japanese superhero manga series created by One. It tells the story of Saitama, a superhero who, because he can defeat any opponent with a single punch, grows bored from a lack of challenge. One wrote the original webcomic manga version in early 2009.
A digital manga remake, illustrated by Yusuke Murata, began publication on Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump website in June 2012. Its chapters are periodically compiled and published into individual tankōbon volumes. As of November 2022, 27 volumes have been released. In North America, Viz Media has licensed the remake manga for English language release and has serialized it in its Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine.
An anime adaptation produced by Madhouse was broadcast in Japan from October to December 2015. A second season, produced by J.C.Staff, was broadcast from April to July 2019. A third season has been announced. Licensed in North America by Viz Media, it premiered in the United States on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block in July 2016. The second season premiered on the block in October 2019.
By June 2012, the original webcomic manga surpassed 7.9 million hits. By April 2020, the manga remake had sold over 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.

Thing about the roaring star cannon is that, if I understood correctly, it uses up all of Boros' remaining energy (as he states directly and also explains why he couldnt regenerate after firing it). This means to me that whatever the limit of the destructive power of that attack is, is also the limit of Boros' destructive potential simply because he literally uses all of his energy into it.
The thing is, for one, even if that was the limit of Boros' destructive capacity, it wouldn't limit his attack potency. And secondly, characters in anime can often just regulate how much their blasts destroy. In Dragon Ball, Saiyan Saga characters can blow up planets, and then blasts from people like Cell way later on only destroy some rocks when they hit the ground. Even though they contain much more energy, the character limits the destruction. For an example directly from One Punch Man, take Genos. In one of his earliest forms he blows up art of a mountain. Then in his most recent from he can kill Dragon Level monsters with blasts that are much less destructive, but much more powerful than blasts from that early Genos.

Yeah the direct quote from the manga is that “I’ll release all of my power and wipe you out together with this planets surface” which very much implies that all of boros’ power is able to wipe out the surface of the planet
Completely agree, how would Boros be beyond planetary in his released form when he needed to power up, yell out for his greatest final attack and use all of his energy on a planetary attack? I swear, people watch too much anime and start thinking destroying a planet is as easy as popping a baloon.

While I may not great with everything in this video, I wanted to point out how when Saitama first punch Boros, he knocks him into one pillar of his room.
Later on, Boros punches Saitama through one pillar, then knocks him into the second one, which would mean that Boros’ punch would be stronger than Saitama’s first punch.
For anyone confused when he says "boros scales to saitama" he means boros scaling to saitama when saitama is only using a certain amount of power!!!! So if saitama is using like 0.0004% of his power (1/2400) then boros scales to that, and whether or not that 0.0004% scales to planetary, galaxy, or multi-continental, boros also scales to that!!!

I watched Kristian Kembers video on Boros scaling which I agree with most of it. Just find it hard to believe he says Released Boros is only 9x the SOL. Wanted to hear your opinion on Boros speed. The thing is, the name “serious punch” suggests that saitama only got actually serious about the fight and actually tried for 1 punch worth of time. Thats all it took.
I believe the manga multi continental statement is just retconned by the anime as ONE have said that he himself read whole of the anime script in order for it to be an extension of Original Work and confirmed that anime have changes

Well technically, every character faster than light is logically planet level or higher.
But we're talking about an anime verse and their physics, not real life physics.
Just look at dragonball for example, if you try to bring in real life physics then the characters arent all that, because they arent destroying planets with every attack, but inverse scaling puts most db characters above universal.

Genos didn't mention anything noteworthy about his aura either.
The only person he singled out was Garou who he stated was emitting extremely high energy waves but he never said it was anything like Saitama's, infact he accredited it to kings "wave motion cannon." Genos believed King was only a small fraction of what was needed to defeat Gouketsu.
Gouketsu is undoubtedly above that Garou who is in turn above Platinum. And Orochi is above Gouketsu by his own admission

His presence in the manga was a lot smaller than webcomic Golden S even if he did less. He's mid. Genos doubting Saitama is just a testament to how utterly overwhelming Gouketsu's power must have been. It was vast enough to question everything he had seen Saitama do up until that point. The only three individuals that went outside Genos' ability to measure them were Saitama,Psykos Orochi,Gouketsu and Boros. Gouketsu is definitely the strongest dragon that's not confirmed to be an "above dragon"
Boros can destroy the planet which contains city Z. City Z is stated to be 58 billion kilometers in size which means any planet level feat in OPM = solar system feat

@SatorisYT it wasn't stated at all but a guy named darkstudios90 measured it using one of the manga chapters. I think the video is called "scaling OPM accurately." He went from scaling saitama to multi solar system in the beginning, but then scaled him to multiversal-low outerversal in the end.

I mean, CG without copying is pretty featless and unimpressive, he is just arbitrarily stronger than gargoyle garou but still massively below non killing intended saitama
The problem with the Cosmic Void situation is that it does not line up at all with later feats if you take it at face value. Consider Saitama's serious table flip being calced at Large Planet Level. If you assume that the Serious Punch Squared is literal (mainly the squaring part), you need the square root of the force generated by the attack, which comes out to Small Star Level, much more in line with later feats, but still a tier above the serious table flip.
For some math. I found a calc putting the serious punch squared at 200 RonnaFoe, which is Multi-Galaxy like mentioned in the video. Taking the square root of that number gave ~69 (nice) Quettatons of TNT, putting the feat in the middle of Small Star Level.
I can see the argument for Boros being Star Level with the guidebook statement, but any higher just doesn't make sense. I personally put him comfortably at Planet Level, with the only arguments putting him above this being the previously mentioned guidebook statement and vaguely scaling to Saitama and wanking him with the Cosmic Void outlier, which I already did my best to debunk.
Saitama and garou scale to the serious punch squared even if the attack was their strength squared bc they were at the center of the attack when it was redirected meaning they took the blunt force from the attack, so they would scale to or to a fraction of the serious punch squared in dura and then they proceeded to damage each other afterwards scaling their ap to that as well.
Yeah arguing the SP^2 is literally squaring their AP and not just a cool hame ignores the fact that they punched each other with that force, they both took that punch and didn’t take serious damage on their arms, then were able to deal damage later. Either that, or they somehow can have hax that square their AP which they can just use and then arbitrarily have squared durability and then both get shot back down for no reason at all.

With this scaling, yeah, I think Boros is stronger than Frieza from the Namek Saga. But Frieza IA still easily a God level threat, he would beat anyone below Boros without any difficulty IMO.

Also if anyone is gonna try to calculate cosmic boros or saitama, I did some rough estimations for the multiplier at a low end. I decided to say monster garou before the cosmic form was moon level and assumed god made him galaxy level. If that's true, that means the form is about a 1.79x10^38 times more powerful, or 179 undecillion times. However, I could be wrong, so let me know what you think in my comments
Hear me out big dog, how about a random peice of scrap from Boros’s ship scale? If you remember the fight the two get caught in a cone?
Ight class, so like…when 1-armed released Boros and saitama were fighting they broke to the surface and like got caught in a cone of some metal debris but what you gotta think is…the metal only broke after a few seconds of fighting, assuming no punches were missed by either side that’s still enough to where the impact of ragdoll of the two combatants being hit wasn’t enough to destroy the metal only dent it, it only broke when exploded.
So we know that saitama had always one shotted EVERY monster, know who that includes? Marugori who stands at 270 m/(885'10") feet tall. (At least in the webcomic and manga, in the anime he’s prolly taller than Everest) That’s not big enough to be a mountain though very close I admit, however it can be guessed his flesh is stronger than that of stone but that’s headcannon so I digress. but multiple punches were thrown and lets lowball here and say saitama didn’t miss a single punch he threw, the cone of metal is only about 10 feet so there’s not that much drop off of pressure/force (again, ASSUMING no punches were missed) and then you have to add that Boros was also punching saitama in the cone and punched multiple times (Boros is weird to scale as in the anime/manga it says “surface of the planet” putting him at multi-continental, then in various books it says “planets with latent energy” so that’s multi_planet and then there’s “the RCCS can destroy a star” putting him at star www.reddit.com/r/NoRules/s/w3eNo8TV0G) but ALL those scales suggest Boros is much stronger than mountain level and therefore this single piece of scrap was able to survive several second long clash of these two titans.
But that’s lowballing it, so now we get to highball! So since the random piece of debris doesn’t appear in the manga on panel it can be called a “anime original character” therefore it should work based off of the scaling of the anime itself rather than just the manga in the anime beefcake is WAY taller, clouds are shown covering his crotch, however as his genitals don’t actually show at any point I take this as canon instead of comedic censorship as he is shown above the clouds and no other clouds can be seen above him it can be assumed these are “high clouds” which form at about 16,500-45,000 Feet (5-14 km) given wether you want to lowball or highball, but that’s not actual height, that’s his crotch. I couldn’t find a actual measurement for what percentage of a person’s height is but I found this for hip height percentage “Hip Height: The hip height (measured from the floor to the highest point on the hip bone) is typically around 32% to 38% of a person’s total height” This range accounts for variations among individuals so that’s still “highball or lowball” but I said I was gonna highball and based off of the over the top comedic nature of OPM it can be reasonably assumed that it’s the absolute highest to show that raw size doesn’t really matter to saitama it’s always one punch. So let’s assume these are high clouds forming at about 14 kms in the air and beefcake has low hips at about 32 percent so after calculating his height comes out to around 39.48 KMs for the record, EVEREST is only about 8.9 KMs so we can assume saitama was throwing out punches of at the VERY least this magnitude and Boros was also throwing hits, and let’s assume both parties missed at least one hit, that quickly takes this debris durability from mountain to large island and possibly small country level, based off of the front and side view we have of the scrap I count 10 visible impacts, and the scrap only exploded after Boros did something as seen by the blue energy glowing out meaning the debris could’ve taken more regular hits so all these calcs are still below its actual peak durability maybe even to the point of this being small country level, other feats include sustained intergalactic travel for at least 20 years. meaning its durability is not nearly spoken enough by the community and I will fight to protect the good name and strength of “random debris of lord Boros’s ship”
Yeah, something else is that released Boros scales to orochi the monster king, whom has small planetary/moon level calcs, this insinuation means this peice of scrap is actually quite possible contenental level assuming Boros hit it at least once, it’s also indebatable stronger than all metal made on earth as “metal knight” noted and made his drones out of the material after the battle was finished, so all durability feats shown by ANY building and pre-Boros-ship metal knight drone can also be assumed that this piece of debris ranks higher than those feats.

This might be a hot take, but I don't think the weekly end notes should be invalid. They're being officially published by the magazine, they make it into the weekly releases. The reason they're taken out of volume releases is because they are no longer in their weekly form and now we get volume statements. They are still officially published by the magazine.

I always argued with people that Boros was actually a bit of a fight for Saitama strictly on the fact that prior to Cosmic Garou Saitama only ever recognized Boros power calling him strong MORE than once.

It seems to me that the scaling system, which is used almost everywhere, including this video, is perceived by many and me a little incorrectly (in a different way). For example, when I hear "Planetary Level of AP", I initially think: "So this character can destroy the planet (or something like that)." But it actually means something else.: this is just a symbol of the energy / / forces available to the character. This system is good for comparing and categorizing characters, but it is difficult to perceive the powers of the characters (for example, Saitama (in the end of fight against Cosmic Fear Garou) is credited with " Galaxy - Multy galaxy level", but in reality he cannot destroy the galaxy in any way).
It's the same with Boros, he can have (in his Meteoric Burst form) " Panetary level of AP" of higher, why not?, but this does not mean that he can destroy the planet.
It's the same with his last attack. When I heard that it was being scaled to "Star level", at first I think: " What? It is totally wrong! How he can destroy the star?", but then everything fell into place. PERSONALLY, I (THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, PLEASE DO NOT SCOLD ME) believe that at best, this attack will be able to destroy half of the planet, or something like that. (In any case, this is the end of humanity). No one has OFFICIAL proofs that this attack is capable of destroying a star and so on.
Personally, I pretty very disagree with author (but author itself said earlier, that he is impressed by Boros and is generous to him). MB Boros only almost comparable to pre serious Saitama (Saitama much durable and stronger than alien). Anyway,I think it doesn't matter how destructive this latest attack is, or how it scales. It is ALMOST (99%) equal to a Serious punch. IT'S INCREDIBLE! NO ONE, besides Cosmic Garou (THE GOD'S AVATAR), Blast (THE GOD'S SEALER) and Saitama (THE STRONGEST) can't surpass this.
I like your channel ( altough i don't agree with a lot), especially your analytical videos and your videos "What if Boros becomes good?" (How good they are, I'm looking forward to the new season) . Personally, I was very skeptical about your video " How strong is Boros? ", where you quite clearly compared Boros with Garou (that's why I was angry, because to say that GAROU's MONSTER IN PEAK FORM IS WEAKER THAN THE RELEASED BOROS, it's honestly ridiculous, I just burned out from that). But it allowed me to look at the problem from a different angle and I partially changed my mind.

according to statements (the csrc star level one) released boros is pretty much planetary or planetary-large planetary and csrc is star level (as you said , it doesnt put a cap on it but i doubt they made it to be above star level. this just falls into opinions mostly so im just gonna say its star level since there isnt much else to go off of).
also if we only go off of feats in the manga (as far as i have seen atleast) he punches saitama and obliterates a huge part of his ship (wich is above the moon jump) that would put him from multi con-moon to small planet-planet. this is just going off of whats shown but i doubt thats what they wanted it to be.

saitama had to be holding back somewhat or there wouldnt even be a boros fight. this could range from either saitama relating to boros on his struggles , saitama thinking this could be the fight he was looking for or both.
at this point nothing is concrete evidence because we are just making stuff up from how people act and react.
i also heavily disagree with boros damaging saitama because cosmic garou couldnt do that. expecting boros to do that is just ridiculous.
boros does keep up with , react to and trade blows with saitama but thats a saitama that is taking the situation seriously but also being somewhat casual (again , a serious saitama would probably end the fight instantly).
he does call boros strong but compared to all the people he fought before (and also most if not all others up until the cosmic garou part) boros was stronger by a huge margine. he is considerably stronger then even the ones after in the ma arc.
it is expected for saitama to think he is strong and that this is almost a real battle when he is stronger than almost anyone else while also being able to keep up with a somewhat casual but still serious saitama.
i like your content and i dont hate boros or anything but through most of this video i just saw a lot of cases were you acted kinda biased , not really talking about other cases that are as reliable as the others and saying statements like "planet surface" thing while taking inverse unreliable statements as truth.

I personally think saitama before his exponential growth is galaxy level and by the end is low universal, but the reverse causality likely undid that growth. As for boros, I'd say the gap is an average person compared to peak human, which is a 150x gap. While this is definitely a highball, it isn't too outlandish to assume these things
Why doesn't anyone use the meteor feat of it being a 6-9 on the torino scale, 9 being able to AFFECT not destroy but affect multiple continents and could bring a ice age, if we say it was a 9 than a single city is multi-continental, city z being destroyed from the impact and some of the other cities surrounding it being affected, not all but some, this means the earth is massively bigger than ours as if a 9 hit us multiple continents would be affected, not destroyed but affected
Welp, I guess that another benefit to waking up so early, that being I’m technically not 2 days late to the video lol. I personally don’t agree with star level or above, as it could have just been Blast portal covering the background rather than the serious punch square destroying those stars, and even if the serious punch square did destroy those stars, it doesn’t seem consistent with what we see later in the fight, with Garou after powering up, being dumbfounded by Saitama sneezing away the surface of Jupiter. If both of them can destroy multiple stars(which average out to being several times the size of Jupiter), then that feat shouldn’t be impressive at all. In my opinion, Saitama serious punch prior to their exponential growth is large planet level(as I think it fair to say Saitama serious punch prior to their exponential growth could completely destroy Neptune), making Boros CSRC earth destroying level. I prefer staying conservative with my power scaling/estimations, and I often use Occam razor, as it questionable whether or not One and Murata put any more thought into it than that. I should also clarify that I measure attack potency based on how powerful just 1 attack is, rather than how powerful multiple attacks combined are.
My thing is when boros was looking for strong fighter's before arriving to earth how did he not come accross those guys that were with blast one of them looked similar to boros and casually blocks a attack that could've destroyed the earth making me question if he was the strongest as he claimed.

Also the punches used on both are incomparable, especially if you look at how detailed and Serious Saitama looks when compared to Boros vs when compared to Garou

That the guide translates planet and star separately does not mean the latter in inherently accurate, if the anime guide is even accurate to begin with since Geryuganshoop seems to have power beyond what Murata believed he could accomplished in that continuity.
Most manga in the weekly release have chapters statements. To my knowledge it is not known for certain who writes them. For Naruto, for example, they are usually taken as accurate, suggesting Kishimoto approves them. I am less certain for One-Punch Man. I would say that ONE might have just changed his mind on how far above Saitama is, though.
Saitama is some degree stronger when he fights Monster Garō than when he fought Boros. According to the Audio Dramas, he thinks he should be always able to defeat himself from yesterday (though the exponential graph brings this into question).

Not everything put in a manga is written for the sake of power scaling. If you think of the writers intentions for things it could give more clarity to the characters power. Saitama might have thought "this is almost a real fight" because he was on the moon which he had never experienced before, and he was depressed and really wanted a real fight so he might try to convince himself it is. The writers intention in having Saitama think this is to generate excitement for the ongoing fight, not to scale boros to Saitama. That's why Saitama specifically thought "almost". They go back on this scaling at the end when Boros said it wasn't a fight at all, Saitama never really tried, and it was a one sided slaughter. This statement makes much more sense for the authors intention to be used as scaling, as the fight is already over, and it gives clarification to questioning of the power levels they had to create for the purpose of suspense and hype.
Also, I think it's more complicated than %'s. If Saitama is 4D or whatever I don't think that automatically makes boros 4D. Part of Saitama's power is his growth and removed limiter, allowing him to do basically anything. He's still a three dimensional being just with four dimensional capabilities. There's not some greater aspect of Saitama that boros couldn't touch by nature of Saitama being 4D. And if there is, we could consider that his growth or removed limiter, which boros cannot compare to in the slightest. If Saitama were to "utilize" this "4D" side of his power, we would see that Boros truly never stood the slightest chance against Saitama, as his power isn't just his stagnant power in that moment, and that boros isn't relative to that in any way. Most arguments for Saitama being 4d are him grabbing hyperspace gates and stuff, which I don't think boros would be able to do.
I'm not saying you're wrong or disagreeing with you. I just like the discussion. I think it would be cool for boros to come back and beat the crap out of a cosmic entity
