- This will be the first of a 2 part series about the motive power on the SFS. This part will include everything besides the First Gen Hood Diesels and other early units. I tried to keep it short but there's a lot of locomotives here...
Great fleet of C&NW locos! I grew up in Bartonville, Illinois, on the south edge of Peoria, and the C&NW line to St. Louis was only a block from our house. Radnor Hill was just a few miles north. I walked on the C&NW line all through grade school and into high school. I also have several C&NW models. Even an Athearn SD45 my brother and I kit-bashed by removing the dynamic brakes like you are doing! Thanks for the video. I look forward to seeing Part 2 early power. cml
Thank you for the compliments. Part 2 with the early units is out! And I too used to walk along the CNW tracks when I was a kid, most of the time when leaving school, perhaps earlier than I should have been... the tracks by Farley Candy Co are the ones I use to walk down, so that's a big reason I modeled that area.
Great roster…all my favorite EMD power
Awesome collection. I especially like that Santa Fe 5031.
I really enjoyed your video on the. Units you have. To me thats what I want to see. You described them well and gave us some of the sounds that was very impressive!
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching
Beautiful Selection of Engines.
Thank you kindly
Nice fleet!
I’ll be in a very long term motive power purchasing period as I moved my modeling era back by 80 years into the early 1900’s steam era and all I have is a 2-6-0 and a gs4. By time I completely collect my corrected era fleet it’ll be
3 4-4-0’s
1 doodlebug w coach
2 4-6-0’s
1 4-6-2
2 2-8-2’s
1 0-6-0 or 0-8-0
1 2-8-0
Vo-1000
Sw1
70-100 tonner
1 PA ABA mopac eagle consist
And a 2-6-6-2 if I ever find one again
All dcc and sound with mostly custom lettering for the GCL, St. Louis Brownsville and Mexico, mopac, Sp, Galveston Houston and San Antonio, and Santa Fe
Thank you! I'm thinking of picking up one steam locomotive just to have as a showpiece myself
Great collection of power and the dual sound units really makes me want to set up my power units with that. Looking forward to part 2.
The dual speaker set up is just worth it. JT builds one nice speaker enclosure.
Nice review of a very nice collection of CNW locos. Look forward to part 2.
Many thanks!
Good video. You do have the same problem as me. You are a "Model Train Junky". Nice roster hope you get on the SD-18 build.
I still need to finish the non-dynamic SD45 first, you should do the SD18 first!
@@CNW1025 I already did two SD-45s, It's your turn for a first. I need some tips.
@@cnwtrain Fair enough.
When will the next roster video come, I've been excited to see it!
Publishing it as we speak!
@@CNW1025 cool
Love the fact you have other "purchased power", in that roster, the "run-through power" is cool, but the different colors make it right,(in my book) thank you, for sharing.
Question, what type of speaker did you say, you were running ? I tried to go back, but just couldn't hear it.
Thank you for the compliments. Scale Sound Systems is the company that makes the speakers and the housings that I just started using. And I really cannot see using any other speakers going forward. Check out my other video on CNW 1635 for a before and after with the stock walthers speaker and then SSS.
I have a print of CNW 5531 GP40, framed with the real number board of 5531. I am a Chessie fan, but would love to see this framed print and number board go to a real CNW fan. Would you want to buy it?
I love run trains on your someday layout cnw is awesome railway
