    Love the clever bashing of the trucks. Fire truck and the boom truck take the cake in my humble opinion.

  • @dinmorejunctionmodelrailway

    I think the art of a model railway is the cameo scene's. The stars and stripes proudly ripping in the wind 👍

    On a side note to any CNW lovers that might not know, Illinois Railway museum looks like it will be acquiring the CNW 7003 soon still in Zito yellow. I saw it on 11-7-2022 on our power track at Proviso yard about 2 am. It may be in West Chicago by now if it's moving that way in a timely fashion.

      Really? Did not know that. 7003 is still in original paint? IRM is getting it? Do you work at Proviso?

      7009 just arrived at IRM on the 15th.

      @@dennisnorris6439 Very nice, is it really still in Zito and unpatched?

      @@CNW1025 Looks like it had a patch but the UP markings have been removed. It is still Zito yellow. Side numbers and numberboards are still intact too!

      @@dennisnorris6439 That is awesome! So another CNW unit survives! I miss seeing 8646 and 8701. I'll have to look for it next time I'm up at IRM for the CNWHS Archives Building.

    I model the 70's and have done the same thing for sveral trucks. I also use the Athearn C cab Fords

    • @CNW1025
      @CNW1025  Рік тому

      That's a good point as well. I never thought about using one of those cabs, possibly because of the higher cost of the Athearn trucks as compared to the Mini Metals.

    FYI . Mini prints makes hydraulic locomotive jacks for your shop if interested. Beautiful layout.

      Thanks! I'll look those up. Its the small details that really make the difference I think.

    You do fantastic work. But now you have added more work on me. I have been wanting to increase my CNW vehicles, so this will help a lot. Just isn't enough time to get all the things done, I want to do. Haven't run a train on the layout in over a month. Going through with draws, working on scenery stuff. The detail on the trucks looks good, noticed the dirt on the wheels of the boom truck. Keep the videos coming.

      Well its about that time of year isn't it? Head into the basement, or attic in your case and play with trains! Lets get a video of your new scenery. I think I may be doing some of that next. Funny you noticed the dirt on the wheels. That is actually as natural as it gets. Its real dirt that is sifted and is used as the final layer in the yard office area, AND I did not glue it down, otherwise it turns to dark mud. So therefore if you drive the truck over that real (dusty) dirt, it naturally picks up the dirt just where it needs it, on the tread.

    Model the Missouri Pacific during the 70s era and run into the same issue with MOW vehicle availability. This video is helpful.

      Really, I don't understand why there are so few options. Seems that all vehicles are either from the 50s or the 2000s. if you're in between, you're out of luck.
