@@carp1118 I know it's over for live tours, he won't change his mind. Unfortunately, we are all getting old and 2015 and 2019 shows were not as good as 2005 for instance.
@@AgentRafa I love his music. God bless him. I had the opportunity to see him on the last tour. I watched someone's video from a show earlier in the tour and during the instrumental portion of "Telegraph Road" his left hand cramped up and it didn't sound right. I don't want to remember him that way. Glad I didn't go.The tour for "On Every Street" there's a live show Basel Switzerland, that's how I want to remember him.

How moving is it when Sonny Lambreth hugs Mark? And Mark smiles and turns to appreciate the others. Not only a genius, he is the most generous person in the art. I don't know if it's any of my business to say this, but I wish he would write a concerto for guitar and orchestra.
The final guitar duel is absolutely faboulous. You can tell by Sonny's face that he's having a hell of a time. Just beautiful

It is so SAD that 2019 is the year Mark stops touring for good...... I miss the man as I do Dave Edmunds/Rockpile.....I am 71 and I hope my grandson listens to our music till he is 71
One of the greatest dire straits member post a comment on UA-cam, and it goes like unnoticed.... sad world. Guys, remember, Terry is amongst other things the drummer behind the Alchemy live that you all love like crazy, that was a seriously remarkable performance. Terry, english is not my native language but know that you’re as much a hero to me as Mark is. I wish you all the best for the future.

Hi Terry, to everyone who ever saw Alchemy live youre a legend. Easily the best live performance of any band ever, and you were one of the reasons why. At 6:52, that is the self satisfying grin when you just did something very difficult and you did it flawlessly! In my opinion, MK is the best combination of composer, storyteller and guitarist the world has ever seen!
Normally when a song that's played live comes at the end the crowd starts clapping but the total silence forces them to play to the very last note, I think thats what the smile is about. He takes it as a compliment because the audience doesnt want to miss one note of this masterpiece,.

@@shrek1968 He seemed unapproachable back in the day but that was just his wariness of the Press I think. He always opens his gigs with a quiet "You alright?" and everyone in the audience feels immediately at home. He has a great way about him. There aren't many guitarists who are recognised straight away by their style but there's no mistaking Mark!

If I had one wish it would be easily spent on going back in time to be present at this entire concert. Song after song just piles on top of the previous making this a guitar lovers masterpiece. That exchange of licks at the end is very special. A masterclass in Strat slide and Les Paul. At 5:33 you see Sonny open his mouth in wonderment at Marks playing along with a wry smile at 5:48. The Les Paul was on fire there.
