      IMO, Rob is the "Top Gear" of MTB. His content and presentation are on another level, sure I can't afford all these goodies, I can't afford a Lambo either, but the quality of the videos here is on a level everyone else needs to step up to.

      Rob definitely does a great job with his video production - it's been great watching the channel grow. It honestly might be time to rebrand the channel, sort of like what Seth did when he dropped his actual name from the channel name and switched to Berm Peak.

    Suspension has come a long way since my first full suspension bike in the mid 90's, the ProFlex Animal with the Girvin AL MCU fork. From sponges to springs, baffles and air chambers. Technology is always improving, unless you try to go to the moon again, they lost that technology and it's a painful process to get it back.....LOL.

  • @FINNdeischgut
    @FINNdeischgut 5 місяців тому +1

    Yes, I really want a 190mm version too. The ZEB is available with 190mm, but because I'm very heavy and ride the fork with a lot of air pressure, the ZEB is just far too progressive for me, even without volume spacers. Even without volume spacers, it is impossible for me to utilize the full travel of a ZEB, no matter how hard I jump in the flat. The air spring on Fox dips significantly deeper into the travel, which means it still works quite well even at 135-140 PSI if you open the compression completely and remove the volume spacers completely. A ZEB is significantly more progressive with equivalent air pressure (The ZEB needs less air pressure in the positive chamber for the same SAG) and open compression and it is impossible to use more than 60-70% of the spring travel. For light riders the Fox probably dips too deep into the travel because the negative chamber is larger than the ZEB, but for riders between 100kg and 135kg the Fox 38 is better suited in my opinion. But that is just my personal opinion.

    I love how its just, "increased the valve from 20mm to 28mm." Like, ok, that probably means something to a suspension engineer. What advantage does that have? More valves means we get more clicks of adjustment? Or do you literally have to send it in so Fox can adjust the valves. Thats cool, but probably only for Pros.

    Fox 38's are the worst fork on the market and yes I've had them on the same ebike with Zeb's and now DVO, I've not tried Ohlins or EXT but I've heard there really good. Fox 38's are to stiff off the top and adjusting to get them right even for a good level amature rider is a pain and you end up using the factory setting as a compromise as you did Rob. I'm sorry unless you test the same travel forks from differant manufacturers on the same bike on the same trails you can't make any claims how good they are.

    Waste of money. The Suntour Auron, is just as capable as Fox 36 & 38 forks. With the big three name brands of suspension forks, fifty-percent of the pricetag, is due to the marketing name on the fork. Suntour, just doesn't advertise like Fox & Rockshox, therefore it gets a bad reputation by the abundant wealthy weekend UA-cam riders.
