    Hi! 🙋‍♂️I'm Samuel Lee, and I am an artisan specializing in Custom Fantasy Leather Armor who has been crafting arms and armor under the Prince Armory banner for more than a decade. I focus on crafting one-of-a-kind extravagant custom projects with intricate leather tooling for my clients who use them for LARP, Renaissance Festivals, Cosplay, Costume Contests, and Private Collections.
    I'm just now getting into producing leather armor patterns and content for larger audiences so bear with me as I gradually divide my time more evenly between custom work and making videos and other content for everyone.

    Hey Folks! It's really great to finally be producing content for our fans, old and new. I'm just now learning how to shoot and edit videos so I'm totally open to input on how I can improve. I've got a lot of videos planned for this year but I'll be doing some fan requests along the way as well so make your voice heard if there's something you really want to learn about, or a project theme I should make a tutorial for, or any questions and I might do some Q&As too.

      I've been teaching apprentices for years and these are designed exactly for the purpose of teaching people while still being interesting and cool. And I am deliberately making them approachable for those without a lot of tools. You don't even have to tool it. All you need is a hammer and something to cut with and you can make this helmet if you get some leather.

    The video is well thought out, Good descriptive talk through, although I would probably shorten some parts like the paper cutting, and all the bevelling, we don't need to see examples of every piece done, it just makes the video longer and I found that I skipped parts.

      The one thing left-handed people may want to know is that using right-handed scissors will scuff up your top edges and points because blade closest to the edge pushes down and not up like it is using them right-handed. It almost drove me crazy because my edges were ugly. I fixed it by using a box cutter or letting my right-handed wife cut them out.

    @daringdarius5686 5 років тому +3

    Yo this has been SUPER helpful and has given me dozens of idea's about how to go about my current piece of cosplay (doing the helmet soon).
    Just one criticism to give, whenever you're speaking in the video, could you maybe just lower the volume of the music just a wee bit? 41:00 It might just be me, but this was a part in the video where I had trouble hearing you half of the time due to the music being so loud. I mean, the music choice was great and very enjoyable, but I very much prefer your voice and being able to understand what you are trying to say.
    Again, thanks for doing this!
    Edit: Oh, and I instantly subbed, not for the free pattern because I think I missed it, but just for future content. Thanks!
    Edit 2: I just realized you've already been told this by other people so I assume that the whole criticism remark wasn't necessary. On a side note, saw your portfolio on your website, and my jaw just dropped. It all looks SOOOO GOOOD. Just wanted to say that. :)

      Great, glad it helped. Hope to get more videos out soon. And yes, the audio levels thing was an accident. What actually happened was part of my voice recording was too loud at the start so I lowered the whole track a bit and I think I missed adjusting parts of the music as well.

    A suggestion: mix your music much quieter! Your voice was in competition with your soundtrack and that's pretty bothersome. But otherwise, dope work!

    Awesome helmet. I am new to leathercraft, and start making a few items for archery as quivers, armguards, and belt pouches.
    But in the future, I wish to have one big project like whole armor from leather. Thank you for this video, it's really helpful.
