“Let me know if you enjoyed this and want more videos.” Wes, pretty sure with your wisdom and wisecracks we’d watch you watch paint dry. If you got videos to make and upload, we’ll watch’em.
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost the account password. I love any tips you can offer me
Thanks Wes, always interesting to see you sort out engines big and small. I know nothing about fixing these things but since watching you, Mustie1 and others, I’ve managed to bring my lawnmower back to life. Keep the videos coming, whatever they are.
Wes, we watch because of you, your wife, the kid and the dog....it does not matter much about the machinery...although you always make it look simple and easy.....much appreciated.
Dixon was bought by AYP in 2004, but before then they were one of the pioneering brands for zero turn lawn mowers. The Dixon ZTR's were the best in their class at the time of manufacture. I own one dating to 1999, and it's still kicking to this day. I dare say that they don't make 'em like they used to!
My dad worked for a shop that was a Dixon dealer when they first came out with the friction clutch zero turn mowers in the 70s. He said they sold them like crazy.
Hey Wes, love all your content and humor. Great camera skills as well. I'm a retired mechanic, with 33 years of paid service and the rest, well all freebies. Can't charge the wife and kids. Thanks and God bless you and your family. Your an excellent mechanic.
I love the variety of vehicles, and machinery you present for our pleasure. Seeing you bring in a truck, then a mower etc is in my view part of the joy of your channel. Thanks for the entertainment and shared knowledge and skills
I have spent several hours today fixing a little john deere lawn mower and yet I have still sat and watched you fix another one - I guess it must be pretty entertaining then. Thanks for posting.
I enjoy the witty sarcasm, and the content, you're doing the country a big service keeping us armchair mechanics from going nuts, when this is over you should get a medal. Lol
I was coming across 80 today on my way to Sacramento and thought “Wes lives up this way, wonder when we’re gonna get another video.” I crossed the Iowa line, parked at truckers’ Disney World, and lo my wish was granted! Thanks for more great content as always!
Any project is good to watch. I was only half surprised at how tight the filter was. Found a few on various engines that required grunt effort to remove. Thank you for the video.
Hi Wes, whatever you want to share here is OK by me, you always make it instructive, interesting and often amusing too! Thanks from an old fart in Ireland.
Hi Wes. I like the short fix-'er-up videos - variety is the spice, etc. "In Goo We Trust" had me laughing so hard I nearly dropped my laptop. Good work, fella
Hi Wes! I was a small engine tech at Sears for almost 20 years. Enjoy your videos! Just a tip- always use the Kohler oil filters- Fram is an auto filter and does not filter the oil on a small engine good enough. Also- those oil drains are designed to have a piece of tubing over the nipple so you don't make a huge mess. You also can start those without sitting on the seat by engaging the parking brake. Keep on wrenching buddy!!
The OEM John Deere oil filters will also work as I have found out. The John Deere part number is AM125424c. I’m saying this because I put the same engine in my ‘85 John Deere lawn tractor and I don’t regret it one bit. I even had my fair share of “armchair mechanics” harassing me with bad info about my engine but I’m not willing to let that change my opinion.
I think I've commented on 1 other video in all my years watching UA-cam. I'm glad I found your channel. Keep them coming. I really enjoy the wit, sarcasm and knowledge. I think in about 6 weeks now I've caught up on all of the videos you have made. Shawn B
I know this is an older video. I go back in time when I'm having Watch Wes Work Withdrawal and tap into the older stuff. I'm running out of those now. This is Wes doing a fine Mustie1 impression! Thanks Wes. Loved it!
Hi Wes, came across your channel a few months ago and I've been hooked since. Great content from a good and humble man. Keep them coming and take care.
"I was going to sharpen the old ones but..." Oh, Wes! I needed a good laugh today. I'm imagining a "yard made up entirely of rocks" and the reality of putting "a zillion hours" on a set of lawnmower blades and I'm crying! Too funny! Thanks, and we would be obliged if you could keep the videos coming. Stay well.
Well you pacified the “pre-fill the filter” crowd but probably managed to upset the “oil spilled on the shop floor” environmentalists somewhere so I’d say your still sitting even on maintaining a sense of calm on the internet! 🤣🤣🍺🍺
You got me! "Pre fill the filter" meh whatever, it supposed to be convenient, who cares, do it or don't. It's a preference. Then... OK... OK... Okay! IT'S FULL! STOP! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?! GAAAHHH YOU SPILLED IT! Sigh... I'm one of those crazies who cleans the project before and after... my brain was imploding... then I read this and laughed!... I'm letting go now. LOL
Taryl has several useful videos on the Kohler Courage engine, as well as servicing the Tuff Torq transmission. The engine and carb manuals are free downloads on Kohler website. I have a Cub Cadet LT 1045-
I like mower maintenance now because I am super cheap lol as I spent 1900 bucks on my mower after I destroyed the first one from just using it and leaving it outside. I bought this one at 40 so far I am two years in and I treat it like a classic Lincoln lol The goal is to never buy another one by maintaining it, cleaning it and properly storing it... Hell I even use stabil in the fuel tank incase I don't use it for a few months as the ethanol gas here in Commiefornia turns to garbage in a few weeks and even coats the gas cans in white powdery stuff that plugs fuel filters and carburetor orifices.
Wes your videos are informative and the way you explain them in what your are doing is good, so short videos like this let's your channel grow by adding New followers.
This channel is called Watch Wes Work. I subscribed because I like to see what you are doing, for some strange, creepy reason. Doesn't matter what you are working on, I do enjoy watching a professional doing things the right way. It has helped me on more than one occasion fix cars/equipment that I have. Because of that, I watch just about every video you put on the channel even if I don't care about the specific equipment. I might see a tip in there that works for something completely different, like the way you fix wiring issues.
Tardy to the party, but looking at that Dixon unit, I realized Craftsman ride-ons "sold out" as well. That's a dead ringer for a YS4500, though they had B&S engines. Love watching you work. Thanks for sharing and for the humor and info!

Good deal! There's really not much too them, and new ones are now so cheap that you can often get broken mowers for free or almost free.
I agree with Gary, always interesting stuff you do with good tips and tricks. Please keep it all up. :)

To be truthful, the brush is attached to the lid.
