Only because I'm a bowling need, but it took 3 lanes not alleys....an alley is what you call the entire establishment. 😂🎉❤
I think she meant they had to go to 3 different alleys to find one they could go to to bowl. The first was closed. The second had rude workers. The third was just right! 😜

I think she was referring to (1) the one that was closed; (2) the rude owner one; (3) The nice owner one they bowled at. I think she knows the difference between a bowling alley and a bowling lane. I can see why a reader might get confused though depending on how you hear it.
I grew up in Arnold, Mo. I was disappointed when Arnold Bowl closed too.

I remember when I was little they just let little kids bowl in their socks! I’m glad they worked with you that would have been expensive to have to rent bowling shoes for everyone! I haven’t been bowling for a long time used to go cosmic bowling in college that was fun even bought a ball that flowed under the lights!
