I hope we someday get a stability overhaul so that these awesome structures can stand on their own engineering without having to throw zillions of iron at the problem.
they just need to make pieces called iron reinforced wall, iron reinforced pole etc that uses one piece of iron in the resource. eg one base wood wall is 4 wood. 1 iron reinforced wood wall would be 4wood 1 iron. it looks exactly the same as the normal pieces. you would basically be using the exact same resources as if you had to put down an iron piece and a wall over top of it. maybe a modder who stumbles across this post can do it lmao
@@Chaotic-Star-3-6-9 The problem goes a lot deeper than that though. Currently stability is calculated by shortest path to the ground across a certain number of building pieces (I'm simplifying a bit but that's essentially it). Problem is, this works decently well for wood pieces. But the logic starts breaking down for stone already, much less the more advanced materials, resulting in stability values that just aren't even remotely realistic. Masonry similar to those new pieces was used in real life to build towering cathedrals, they're specifically designed to allow you to build very, very high. And that's just not reflected in-game at the moment. The system needs a complete overhaul I think.
This castle is looking like a Hollywood movie castle; great build. For me, your valheim builds are one of the reason to play valheim. Thanks JJ the bulider 😇
I'd like to see the older build pieces get options like the new stone. Wooden buildings could look really cool if we had more shapes to them. Even a beginner base in the meadows/black forest would look astounding if you could make basic wood pieces look like that.
Nice video man! I love the build and the details of it as well! It really showcases how the new buildpieces give a lot of freedom and variety. The timelapse and video shots are really cool, keep it up!
This is a great build, I love the little spires. I still haven’t found anyone who has made a video on the replica build of the “Castle of San Marcos, St Augustine” yet. Must be too easy to build on valheim? As a kid I heard so much history on that castle. How well fortified it was and defense capable with cannons. The Spanish had built it back when they were colonizing Florida.
Love the video and the build. I definitely agree with your take on the stone. I’ve been struggling to find that good medium but you gave me some ideas for sure
I really love the aesthetic of your building 🤩 You really did an amazing work. Do you think it would be possible to do a little cinematic tour of the exterior and interior ? 👀
As for me, I was kinda disappointed with a snapping restrictions of the new build pieces. For example, you can not snap two or more arches on top of one pillar. This limits the layering possibilities drastically. I hope devs will fix that.
i wish people that have build videos would no use dev commands like floating over lava and stuff because to build properly on lava is actaully hard and dangerous
Deginitlry not something you would want to do in any mode that you intend on making hostile creatures in. The lava blobs alone will take this whole structure down easily.
Hi, very impressive build! I have a problem snapping 2 small grausten arches together in the form of (a slightly curved) 'X'. Left '/' snaps perfectly but right '\' adamantly refuses to snap (or vice versa), regardless what tricks I have tried. Have you experienced that?

If they're building for the sake of it why wouldn't they do it in creative mode? It's not like Minecraft builders do everything in survival either, nor any other game for that matter.
You seriously don't think they've built legit already and are just having fun god forbid, plus experimenting at what can be done building in debugmode? 🙄
I hope we someday get a stability overhaul so that these awesome structures can stand on their own engineering without having to throw zillions of iron at the problem.
Maybe a future difficulty setting!
The worse is the new pillars being just 1m high, they actually support less than walls 🤦♂️

some absolutely sick stuff right here. I cant wait to spend all my time making a 40k imperial cathedral in the ashlands
This looks like a classic villain lair, I love it. The bedroom is really nice, I love how you did the fireplace.
Hoping to see someone make a replica of Castle Volkihar from Skyrim with these new build pieces 😍
Amazing build!
Nice video man! I love the build and the details of it as well! It really showcases how the new buildpieces give a lot of freedom and variety. The timelapse and video shots are really cool, keep it up!
I like that you talk while the timelaps plays
already ?? damn nice build as always dude keep up the good work !!!
Amazing build! And the shield generator on that scenery gives me Harry Potter Courtyard battle vibes.
You did amazing with the sound, Fragments of LIght, and i love the long pauses from commentary! This video is majestic and beautiful! 👌
The main building has a dark souls feel, to me. Very nice!
This is a great build, I love the little spires.

I'm really excited to see what people can do with these new building materials.. i have a feel we are going to see a lot more gothic style
The lava texture on the ground is cool, i wish they had something like thst for water so we could ahve waterfalls.
Love the video and the build. I definitely agree with your take on the stone. I’ve been struggling to find that good medium but you gave me some ideas for sure
This build is awesome! It looks like a gothic vampire castle and I dig it!
Did I say vampire? I meant blood mage!
I absolutely love your Castle and i love the music in this video too. Now im going to build this. Thank you.
Great build, I just started playing around with the new pieces last night and found it can look quite plain. Like what you did with the pillars.
I really love the aesthetic of your building 🤩
You really did an amazing work. Do you think it would be possible to do a little cinematic tour of the exterior and interior ? 👀
Astonishing! Great job! The new building materials are exploding my mind. And your work inspires! Thanks a lot ❤
Finally we get building pieces that allow me to start worshipping the God-Emperor of Mankind in Valheim.
I'm going to like your video now and watch it later. I wanna go into Ashlands spoiler-free lol
we need ornamental metal spikes for the tops of the roof pillars!
Yes
godmode builds are cool but theres something to the genuine grind
Love how this build isn't enormous. It takes skill to build with such restrictions.
Stone structures are pretty strong if you look at most old cathedrals in real life
Really hope they balance the structure stability one day
Beautiful build, relaxing video and some helpful tips there 👍😊
wouldn't call it a castle. Looks more like a Abbey, Chapel or Monastery
Can't Wait!
I wish there were smaller 1x1 wall pieces for the new stone walls, would make smaller scale structures/higher detail structures more viable to build.
It might've been annoying to build close to lava like that but the lavafalls looked amazing.
With the new Stuff, we can build a really good Church. A Lots of new good options.❤
thin columns used as spikes on top of the structure. i added some thin horizontals to it and made crosses that looked a little better to me.
Really cool build! Catapults and ballistae would make nice accenting features, especially on a vanilla world without console commands.
I have some future castle plans with the catapults but I’ll wait for the full release.
@@jjthebuilder build a port for the big chunky boats
I've got some Anor Londo vibes from this new build style.
You are flying and in creative, how does enemies have anything to do with you building. The lava balls yes, but that is it.
I love building in Valheim.
Amazing. Reminds me of the Pandemonium Fortress of Diablo 2.
OMG that was the thing I couldn’t remember! Thank you!
@@jjthebuilder Your welcome? Was it like, your inspiration?
@@mirko7587 no but I couldnt remember it when I was working on a other idea i had.
Please build a Vampire castle 😄

Build looks sick man! Do you by any chance know the name or playlist type for the music? It's so relaxing
Nice Inferno cathedral bro
i wish people that have build videos would no use dev commands like floating over lava and stuff because to build properly on lava is actaully hard and dangerous
Well done! :)

What did you expected the shield generator to be for? It's a given you should place one for the building
^
Fair enough but still, it gives an idea of how much damage.
Looks good but I really don't like the flat gray look of the new pieces!
*WARHAMMER CATHERDRAL INTENSIFIES*
im wondering what the next biom will be and where we can find it :D
beautiful
Quite a challenz indeed

I have a hard time figuring this out haha, but maby take some screenshots or a video and post it in my discord and I’ll take a look!
It's already out? I saw the trailer, but I figured that meant the actual release would be months away.
Public Test Branch only, at the moment. But soon!
Whaoooo❤
What mod are you using to fly around
soooooo cool
I'm going to steal your build
so how high can you actually build with the new materials? I mean you can only build 20m high with stone, even if you put a lot of wood iron into it
gothic cathedral church
How do you switch to testing to play?
Got to properties, then betas. There should be a dropdown menu on the page. Click on it and select public test. If you want to access it, you have to type yesimadebackups for the code at the bottom.
now do it in survival
Could you please share your world ?
you can actually play ashlands already? discord says its on test only
... which means you can play.
Link?
Hey guys anyone with structures getting HUGEE FPS loose after the patch? i can barely get 40 fps in my base (5900x+3080 OC 12gb)
I love how every Valheim content creator, builds in creative mode. Build it legit, then come back and tell us how doable certain things are.
If they're building for the sake of it why wouldn't they do it in creative mode? It's not like Minecraft builders do everything in survival either, nor any other game for that matter.
People like you are probably children who never got the money to play the game, if you actually did its obvious how easy it would be
You seriously don't think they've built legit already and are just having fun god forbid, plus experimenting at what can be done building in debugmode? 🙄
