I give all those guys credit. That is awesome helping somebody out like that. Mike's always fantastic and always makes it right mike and his crew always make it right godbless 🙏 you all ❤
I gotta give Kevin a lot of credit. It's not everyone who can start a job, realize they're in over their head and call for help. That, by itself, is a quality in short supply, but look at what happened because he did! That's someone who really does care about getting it done right, and it's good to see guys like him.
Without a doubt this was the best video Mike and his crew has ever produced in my opinion. The love that was displayed, especially from the kids who obviously wanted to give back and learn at the same time was amazing. The time capsule idea simply blew my mind. AWESOME IN ALL WAYS!
Mike, Mike Jr, Sherry, Damon, & Kevin, I have not seen anything this heartfelt and impactful since New Orleans. Please all of you keep on doing what you do & pass on the right way of doing it right to the next generation so that they can pass on the doing it right philosophy to future generations.
WOW, I couldn't imagine losing a son or daughter!! I don't think i would ever get over the loss. She's really reaching down deep to show a courageous face.😢
Start to finish - amazing and so full of love and good will. I will watch this one more than once. Thank you Mike Holmes for your heart for humanity. I guess this is why I watch nearly every episode. God bless you for blessing others.
I am very happy for the family. They needed this. This episode was filmed in 2012. Holmes claimed the cost for repairs and Reno was $160k +his crew‘S labor. In 2012, you could buy a really nice house for $180-200k. Mind blowing.
The team & friends really care for this family. I love how Kevin is always smiling! What a friend for the home owner. Maybe more??? Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
Write your own ending, I say. Regardless of any romantic scenarios, they will certainly be lifelong friends and I would bet that those boys will have Kevin in their wedding parties...................................
WOW. Its amazing to see all the kids care so much. This is a lesson in life that schools just can't teach. All the young guys hear will become so much better in there lives and everyone who knows them will be better because of the young man who are learning about how to care about the things they will do in there future. They have a great teacher in Kevin he is a of a kind. All the people involved in this one deserves a metal
One of the best videos you folks have done! Helping others in this horrible situation brought a smile to my face!! Not to mention the wonderful job you did for the family! Hats off to you, your staff, the students and the teacher. You folks really did it right!!!
You have saved so many amazing people and done such wonderful work. But this story had me in tears from start to finish. Such a sad story but what a beautiful, humble and grateful family.
This episode is deserving of a deep dive. I would love to see a more in depth episode even if it took two videos to put it all in. I am so pleased that Mike got the students involved. The future needs kids who wish to know these things. You are a good man Kevin for knowing your limitations and calling the best possible man to help this family.
This no doubt was just a wonderful episode such good people and people caring and people helping people and teaching the kids on all levels just awesome.
I love the Make it Right show cause Mike goes to the extreme to help people, seems like the production let him spend whatever he wanted for these people so it makes the show that much more entertaining
@@beverlydust5381 Yep, theres probably a per season and per episode budget, theres almost certainly a lot of negotiation between the homeowner, mike holmes and crew and tv network on each episode. There is probably allowances for issues that are found that are not known at the initial inspection(mold/asbestos/lead paint etc). On some of the earlier shows especialy holmes on homes it looked like mike holmes saved a lot on certain episodes and that likely allowed him to spend more on others.
@urzaserra256 The home owner's insurance company may also provide some of the money, Mike Holmes might may have negotiated a deal with certain companies that there name would be mentioned on the show, like electricians, and the plumbing and the heating company ,foundation and in the ending credits of each show..
Its so heart warning to lose a love one especially a son, my deepest condolences to the family, and here's comes 🙏 a Angel to Help and making it right to ease the loving heart of the mom, Besides God there's Angel call Mr.Mike and his Helper ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤God Bless the Family ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love watching all of the videos. Some times more than 2x. But had never seen this one?.. This one really touched me. Wow all of the love.Wow Wow. Love Mike and the crew. He has a drive and a righteous indignation that makes me smile. He has touched so many people, first hand and by watching.. Stay Blessed 😇🙏🙏🙏.
I would watch a Holmes show that featured Mike working with a high school VoTech class. Perhaps three or four episodes. A couple students could focus on working with the Plumber. Others learning framing. Electrical. Then use a different school VoTech for the 2nd half of the season. It could be interesting and great experience for students.
Hankie alert !! 😭Dammit! 🥺I should have paid more attention to the title.🥺😭 🥹 Y'all are fabulous. 🥹🥹🥹🥹 What a unique experience for everyone. RIP Gene, you are so missed. And still loved beyond measure.
These houses were originally built with baseboard heaters. Forced air hating came after. I lived in that part of Brampton. One wall of our house had no insulation in it.
Glad to see the U.S. isn’t the only country plagued by Craptastic builders who pay off building inspectors to pass subpar construction like this place and the surrounding neighborhood. Building inspectors are supposed to work for the homeowners/future owners, not the builders
My brother recently moved from Manitoba to Ontario, he has been framing for almost 20 years. None of the homes he has worked on in Ontario would pass inspection in Manitoba, and when he pointed out some of the defects to the boss he was laughed off. "They don't get paid enough to care." He's quitting framing because he can't work like that with a clean conscience.
I’ve got to say I’ve watched Mike Holmes shows since the beginning. And the one thing that is a constant is the people that buy these homes & or use these contractors are MORONS!!!! You can clearly see these houses are a train wreck before they bought them.
Not everyone has the knowledge to look for and see the problems before they buy or rent. My grandad built houses when he wasn't mining. So my Dad picked up a lot of know how about proper building. He could go through a property and decide if it was a good home or not.
Not a fan of sump pumps. Best to avoid whenever possible. Risk of motor burnout and more commonly power failures. Battery backup is an option, but then another component to maintain.

I don't understand why healthy younge people are ending like this all over the world, usually after some kind of physical exertion from playing sports, just seems odd
As sad as this is, it's nothing new. This sort of thing is almost always caused by an undiagnosed health condition like a heart defect that only shows itself with extreme exertion or some sort of physical trauma and often there is no warning, just a catastrophic failure that ends up being fatal.
genetics just pulls these random things on occasion, recessive traits 20 times over that'll almost never pop up right up until it just does football (american version) is however also rather prone to sudden head and neck injuries that will add up and spontaneously just flatline an otherwise perfectly healthy person, and in centuries past people were just more prone to death by illness so these sudden death cases just wouldn't have been as well noticed
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. this episode!! Having the second generation helping was a terrific thing! Real world problems!! And solutions. Great job!

God often sends the right people into our lives at the right time: Kevin in that person! God be with you, Kevin and Mike H.
Really cool that Mike and his crew got the students involved. The fact the teacher reached out to Mike… you don’t find many Ike that any more.
Without a doubt this was the best video Mike and his crew has ever produced in my opinion. The love that was displayed, especially from the kids who obviously wanted to give back and learn at the same time was amazing. The time capsule idea simply blew my mind. AWESOME IN ALL WAYS!

this one actually got me a bit chocked up so awesome that the teacher and students wanted to do this
Kevin... super nice guy. Cool to see people helping those in need.

What a labour of love ❤ it brought tears to my eyes bless you all and the students that gave of themselves 🙏
Stories like this is what got me into watching Mike and his team and the reason I kept watching his shows.

No, not in the Toronto area. Other places in the country absolutely
Not good show that doesn't change much at all
@@patsgarage8593 I didn't catch if they mentioned the location of the house but the neighbourhood didn't look like it was.
This episode was gold! I cried happy and sad tears. God bless the family, and every single person who showed up and stepped up.
This video and 'Lein on Me" are the two most heartwarming jobs he's done and to get all those kids involved was awesome.
The team & friends really care for this family. I love how Kevin is always smiling! What a friend for the home owner. Maybe more??? Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all

The show had a budget for each episode, but some of the subs donated their time and Mike Holmes has a foundation to help people in need.

Needs to collab with This Old House.

nice job
I'm sorry for her devastating loss of her son.

This is Gene's house.😊
I've lost a kid that's a pain that is unexplainable
I like how they glossed over the fact half the roof had to be pulled off completely
