you can use an "Attibute filter" to blacklist anything thats "not washable", then cobblestone and everthing doesn't go through, but the ores do, because they cannot be washed
In create you can put filter in filters and it works recursively, so if you ever run out of room in a filter, get another and put the first in the second.
I have several things to point out on create engineering. As some coments pointed out, the attribute filter can solve the washing problem, what thay failed to note is that if your item can be washed several times it will produce the final product because the intermediate "can be washed". To solve this issue it is possible to nest filters inside each other, this can be done up to NBT nest limit and has the nice bonus of not consuming the attribute filter since the container filter takes a snapshot of it. The crushing wheels can be run in any direction. Running them upwards is not very useful, because you need a chute with a fan blowing upwards, a dropper, launching the items into the crushing wheels from below or any item transportation method that moves items upwards. The output on the top flings items vertically a short distance, they can be picked up by a funnel or can be directly placed on an inventory like a chest, or more likely, a belt. The easiest crushing wheel configuration is horizontally on a belt with a shaft on the belt and two vertical gearboxes connected to that shaft. The fastest item sorting requires a multiblock item vault with brass funnels, Ilmango built it unknowningly. Extending the funnel is mostly aesthetic, but if you combine it with tunnels you can have a belt that does not accept dropped items by accident. Finally, the fastest possible cobblestone generators use a mechanical piston to move a slab of any solid block between a layer of water and open ended pipes with lava, this method exploits the fact that moving contraptions break blocks when returning to block form. If you are curious TangoTek built one of those for his create series a while ago. I hope this wall of text is useful to you create enthusiasts out there.
I've actually managed to open a video literally seconds after it was released a few times. Pretty weird sensation to see a video from a (reasonably) large creator have like two views and no comments.
About machines "sagging"/going downwards: I usually build machines "in reverse", i.e. starting with the output chest. Since that is the one that needs to be accessed most frequently once the machine is running, it's the one whose position matters the most.
It would be fun when you can make other stonetypes with different fluids par example basalt frome blacksteel and rum or slate from from bronze and olive oil. So this way you can go all renewable metalls if i am right you cant get any ore from a cobble generator, but rhyolite and gabro covers a lot. Great series! I am always excited when the next video comes out.
For anyone wanting to build a stone generator themselves: Just let the hoppers point directly intothe basin of a mechanical press, that is placed between to drills (Not directly ofc). Then you just gotta run the press at 1/4 of the drills speed. You can also place water between the mechanical press and its basin, allowing you to create gabbro. Super compact, simple and efficient
Once you have steam power it would be interesting to make a massive underground machine for all the different cobble types, see how far you can go when it comes to making things from scratch using automation
crystallization catalyst... removes the need for clay molds... crafted from crushed bismuth and redstone... both of which can be generated by washing gabbro.
Those extended funnels are ingress vs. egress mode of the funnels. But other than the funnels, there are also filtered tunnels which might be interesting to investigate.
Wow, so much work but so much fun! I agree about the Elytra tbh, I like my worlds better before I have them. After you get them, it’s almost a lazy mindset of “might as well use it” that kicks in.
there are stockpile switches that give a redstone signal when the inventory it is conected to gets full (you can set the treshold), you don`t have to use a manual switch to direct where the cobblestone goes
The extended funnels on belts is purely cosmetic, the items still output at the base of the funnel. The only practical use I can think of is the hitbox changes a little, so you could drop items ontop/its easier to walk around and work on it
Ilmango, if you put the Crushing Wheels with their axles pointed up and down, they can take items off of belts without needing to hopper or funnel items in and out.
Don't remember which series I was watching, but one group did a clever trick of having each part of a process feed a vault, then content detectors read how many of that is available and if it's below a certain amount it uses the wireless Redstone to signal the prior step to produce more, so.. if you wanted to say have x number of something that requires copper, it requests the crushing wheels to pull cobble from the storage rom the cobble generator, which as it falls below some percentage starts making more cobble, to refill its storage. This can be extended out to any step in a process that requires a pre-step product, thus automating everything.
It depends on what you want to automate. Generally speaking however, you want to have a constant rate of production throughout all the the steps of the process, otherwise it becomes inefficient
You could replace the belt with a large item Vault. The Vault would immediately transport (0t) the items over inserted from the hopper and could also store them.
About the elytra and discouraging having transportation infrastructure, for one of my towns in my single player world I designed it around having water everywhere so that I could use a trident to get around quickly. I also like to build things assuming that the inhabitants did not have elytra.
by utilizing the fact that blocks that are placed inside blocks by a contraption drop, you are able to build more efficient farms. I also guess they would drop the stone itself instead of the chunks
6:12 I think if Minecraft had create mechanisms, no one would dig big amount of blocks by hand. Also - to dig a perimeter for farms, everyone builds tnt dupers, so it's a kind of mechanisms.

Ilmango, I'm remembering a few episodes ago, you talking about using a mechanic where a block in entity form will break a solid block when it becomes solid within it. You spoke of using it to make a fast stone generator. I'll see if I can find the episode and update this post.
You can just use some rotating structure, that will stop every 90° and thus be placed in the world, removing the newly generated rhyolite or gabbro. Two issues with this: The items don't get picked up right away and may get destroyed by the lava (Might actually be no problem, if one uses molten metal). And second, just like Mango sad, it's kinda an exploit, since you essentially need zero stress units. And since this is not a moving contraptions, but a stationary machine, there aren't really any excuses for not using the intended way
@@racernatorde5318 TangoTek made a really cool one in his Create series with blocks that slid back and forth (if I remember correctly). I don't know if the same thing would work in ATFC though.
