Great playing, dear Friedemann! Brilliant sound and phrasings, I was in love with No.7 the old days: great to listen to your amazing recordings of the Rode concerti! Greetings...
Great performance! I've never heard this piece with orchestra. Congratulations on taking the time and effort to perform this piece. Excellent violinist and orchestra!
BRAVO!!!!
Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto, Mendelssohn String Quartet, Accolay Violin Concerto, and maybe some DeBeriot in one concerto?... It might just be me though.
Quite delightful, and the key of a minor and its simiarity to Viotti # 22 strikes with a few passages standing out. I gather their dates overlap, so no idea whether they knew of one another's compositions, but I assume they did. To me the Viotti is even more charming, but the energy and wit of this one is also appealing. Thanks.
Wow - wholesale cuts & alterations. Well, they don't always do it to make it easy - sometimes it makes it better. Lots of violinists have done it - the Tchaikovsky Concerto has been altered by many, and sometimes for the better.
Better than any of Mozarts violin concertos. Kinda annoya me that guys like Pierre Rode have been completely overshadowed by the likes of Mozart even though the quality of their music doesn't differ greatly.
My son found this music outside a music store in a box for free when he was 15 1/2 years old. He’s now been learning it for 2 years and at 18 he’s playing it in a youth symphony as the solo concerto!! He loves his music. It’s his favorite. He’s used this with many auditions and scholarships.
Interesting observation. Viotti's Concerto N. 22 was first published in 1803, the same year that Rode's Concerto N. 7 was written. But the Viotti concerto was actually written several years earlier. Maybe Rode saw it still in manuscript?
Yeah thanks, I sure know how to read a title. I was just commenting on the odd resemblance with Viotti 22th concerto. And it's spelled Rode by the way :)

I read that this concerto was a fav of Paganini and he played it besides his own compositions.
Really? This is a great concerto, but in the hands of paganini was heard like a angel

I like this concert more than mozart concertos, i dont understand why this is so underated
TBH, much (if not most?) of Mozart is boring and/or copy-paste of itself.

Concerto numero 7 - Opera 9
Very good 🍟🍝🍕
Friedemann Eichhorn
Bravo! but who exactly performed the recording?
I have Friedeman Eichhorn's recording and it sounds exactly like this, so I am pretty sure it is his recording.
Connor Chen thanks!
Alvin it says in the description box
Yes, the concert I played when I was 9 years old at a music contest in Romania and got 1st place.
Good job.
It says Nicolas Pasquet, conductor and Friedemann Eichhorn, violin,
so what's hard about that to understand.
