Spotted Salamanders Depositing Spermatophores

This video was shot on April 3, 2015, at a vernal pool in the Wolf Hill Forest Preserve in Smithfield, RI. The video shows male spotted salamanders depositing spermatophores, little packets of sperm, on the vernal pool floor as they wait for the females to arrive.

stellar footage! what camera setup did you use for this?

My standard recommended setup is a GoPro camera of your choice (mine was a Hero 3+ Black) on a Lume Cube GoPro mount and two Lume Cubes (these are waterproof). I think for this video I used the Hero 3+ and an external (not waterproof) video light (Neewer CN-216).
