Literally the most badass scene in crown of candy from Zac in my opinion. I replay it all the time. Was so satisfying watching the group go "OOOHHHH"
Most badass scene period in my opinion.
Brian's shield shenanigan from out of the yogurt is pretty cool too, imo
Zac normally plays dumb characters because his smart characters (looking at you, Lapin) are able to end sessions with one boast.
i liked when theo cast knock
Ally's casual "You should just eat him" ALWAYS kills me.
Such an incredible scene from Zac. It also hits harder on rewatches...
I'm so used to Zach playing low int characters, Gorgug, Ricky, and I love him for it. But as soon as he plays a decently high int character he absolutely nails it. Honestly showing his range and how amazing he is.
So happy to be able to bring this moment to life! I absolutely adored A Crown of Candy and can't wait to watch it from the start again 🥕🐰
I recognized the art style immediately! I love your drawfee animations, so glad you got the opportunity to do this!
DeepBlueInk, you da best!! You’re one of the few channels that I never miss an upload. Glad you can collab with such amazing people.
These videos are so much fun-- amazing animations!
Really want another season of it forsure
@@sriracha_sauce same!
“A rabbit slapping a carrot!”
I LOVE the moment when it finally clicks for Brennan, Zac showing how brilliant he is as Lapan is great too!
This scene outclasses almost every representation of Machiavellian masterminds in media. I could talk endlessly about how genius this plan was (including the parts not included in this amazing animation), but the best part is that I don't have to. Every single detail of this plan, whether spoken or not, is available to the audience, which means his plan makes perfect sense to us, and thus makes us admire Lapin's cunning even more.
I cannot overstate how much I love that the Intrepid Heroes get to be in different settings, which has let every single one of them how clever and resourceful they are. That's something no other medium would be able to convey, and my favorite thing about TTRPGs in general
i mean technically it makes no sense that Lapin would be in on the plan considering that the whole point was to destroy his kingdom, so the notion that Carradin would fall for his lie and think they were in on the conspiracy together is completely nonsensical. Obvously Brennan is the most soft DM though, so he let it happen
@@dylantully5265 ...but was it Lapin's kingdom? Lapin was in deep with the curch, iirc.
@@dylantully5265 Not really? Everyone else at the top of the church put the church over their countries. Why wouldn't Kerradin think Lapin was the same? Lapin has specifically been working to make everyone think he's the same for years.
@@UchihaKat you're forgetting that the whole point of the conspiracy was to destroy all candy people. At the time of the episod's airing no one could have known this but in retrospect it is a glaring error
@@dylantully5265 No, the whole point of the conspiracy is to get the church more power. Eliminating all the candy people just turned out to be a convenient excuse to work towards that goal.
LOVE the representation of all the players dressed up as their characters. Watching their animated versions lose it is always fantastic, and having them dressed as their characters was a clever touch.
Lou has so many great characters but there is a special place in my heart for Amethar. Warm and caring, beset on all sides, smarter than he gives himself credit for, and incredibly hard to kill.
Amethar is a great king. And war guy 😎
this and "I underestimated you, chancellor" "oh, shut up" are my absolute favorite parts of this season and I rewatch them so often.
I’m glad I went in blind to Crown of Candy. Compared to other seasons, the stakes were stacked so high here.
This was definitely Zack’s Season.
I don't know man... I'm watching it now and all I see is Ally going _full_ John Wick on everyone...
One might even say it was his big day
@@jodinsan where are you watching it?
@@jodinsan ah yes, the Peppermint Batman
They had to kill Lapin, as he was too powerful.
God the angle Zac used to approach this task with was TOO PERFECT! I went crazy when I first saw it, when I first watched the series I didn't know if Cadbury was truly a double agent but then when he slapped him I shouted with everyone else!
One of Zac's greatest scenes. A real power play.
I honestly believe Zac maybe one of the low key best D&D players of all time. He is honestly someone I totally look up to. He honestly brought tears to my eyes when there was the Zelda drama in season two of Fantasy High (which I wish we could get another season of)
“WHERE IS YOUR BULB NOW?!”
This scene and the scene where Emily just brutally lays down damage using magic as Saccharina are so cool.
Finally. A brilliant moment animated to life.
Yes. More of this please. Maybe do “Slammed Down Big Style”, or “Freak a Meep”, or the many humiliations of Thaddeus, or Gooey meeting Theo… or, of course, “Here’s to a future you can’t ruin” paired with “What’s the last part of my title?”
They desperately need to do Fabian's breakdown from FH season 2 in this style
The animation really captured the "where's your bulb now?" vibe in Lapin's look and smile. *chef's kiss*
Zac bringing the fucking pain. Best cleric outside of the myth, the legend, Kristin Applebees
“I just slap him in the face”
When I fell in love
Zac's character is a warlock though
I love these animated segments!! So fun!!
For thos interested, him saying "Where is your Bulb now?" is equal to saying "Where's your god now?"
For the non-Dropout people who don't get why "Where's your bulb now?" is such a badass line (like me when I hadn't yet watched the series), it's because of the word "your". Lapin secretly being a pagan is one of the most dangerous secrets in the campaign, and he just admitted it to Keradin purely to gloat.
I wished that they animated or included the part where Lapain had to convince the imperial guard with Theobolds encouragement to arrest Alfredi.
The gravity of all of them being food did not hit me until this animation 😂😂 great job!!
i love the stylized pcs so much, they're so cute
I was blown away by this whole season!! Definitely one of my fave moments.
literally all of a crown of candy was just savage
The lip synching is extremely good!
one of the best scenes ever. we definitely haven‘t seen enough of this character..
I’m suing for emotional distress. This funny little animations got me to watch Crown of Candy and I am HURT. 😭😭
Probably my favorite scene in Dimension 20 of all time
I have NO IDEA what is going on here, but I think I very much need to watch Crown of Candy. After I finish Fantasy High. After I finish Escape from Bloodkeep. After I finish Unsleeping City. After I finish Tiny Heist. After I finish The Seven you can see that I have a problem here.
hi, I'm from the future. did you watch it all in the end?
GoT < A Crown of Candy
Yeeessssss another DeepBlueInk animation! You love to see it.
Absolutely amazing!
I love Carraton's hair in this one. It looks so cool.
We shall never forget this
Just watched this episode for the first time yesterday! Crown of Candy hits so hard.
Oh I’ve been waiting for this
when this dropped on Dropout and was just waiting with such anticipation for it to be posted
I had no clue this was a deepblueink masterpiece from the animation of lapin and the carrot bastard until the cut to the players. truly amazing
Beautiful
Probably the best moment I’ve ever seen DD history
One of the best scenes in the whole season
Zach is my favourite, I'm so excited to watch this new season with him as the captain
That is such a badass moment, holy shit, and this animation gives its justice :D
If only the machinations of the Bulbian Church stopped here.
I need a “Where is your bulb now?” t-shirt.
this scene is so fucking intense the first time i saw this animatic i thought it was at like... the very end of a crown of candy. Imagine my surprise to find that it happens in the FOURTH EPISODE.
Woohoo that slap tho!
I'm only just up to the next episode after this one, but it's frustrating me up the wall, he said he was given THREE!!! water steel daggers. They only found TWO!!! and its driving me nuts that not one of them picked up on this!
I hope it gets resolved next episode somehow or that one of them notices, but if they don't then that was a HUGE oversight by the party, especially when they had a situation under Nat 20 influence where they could have asked for more information, let alone not asking more about who was involved like the pontefex etc.
So good
Perfection
GOAT moment.
Glorious
too good.
Lapin's Big Day was amazing.
that rabbit just fucking devoured the carrot
its kinda ironic how the arc ends though for Lapin
I have dropout. I found this about a week ago, not sure when it dropped. Started a rewatch of CoC because of it.
what a moment
I just... I love Lapin so much.
This animation and the comment section of youtube are the reason I decided to finally get drop out to watch a crown of candy
Some GRRM level cunning.
Is this the same animator, who did the Rick Diggins bit?
Yes, bluedeepink
Nearly!
What would it take to get at least one whole season of D20 -- any of the old ones -- animated in this style? Frankly I think the ones that would benefit the most are D20 Live (since that didn't have the luxury of pre-editing) and maybe the zoom episodes like Mice and Murder. But I'll take anything at this point. These are so well-executed.
it'd be prohibitively expensive but id love tk see like the three biggest plot moments per episode animated of one of those. like maybe 3 2 minute episodes for 8 episodes of mice and murder. thats 48 minutes of animation. expensive and labor intensive but possible
keep in mind that this animator is one person, not a studio.
Yeah, I can’t help but think this would be crazy time(and resource) intensive, as delightful as it would be if it were feasible. Even this 2 minute clip would have been so much work given that this is just one person doing all the storyboarding, rigging, animating, compositing and editing. But damn if it wouldn’t be nice to see an animated d20 action scene.
So fucking good
Having to convince the knights made this scene so much more intense, should've kept it in.
A crown of candy is really great, I want a second season
This is A Crown of Candy
TRAGEDY on the first day of school
Ally in Liam Wilhelmina garb is my new favorite thing
Deep Blue was here!!!💙
Lapin’s big day!
DEEPBLUEINK?!
I'm on the last episode of this now and the writing and political intrigue is SO PALPABLE and I genuinely hope someday it is transcribed into a cinematic show.
All the weirdly human looking guards...
Guess who got their head caved in couple episodes later?
Seeing the player characters in this animatic reminds me of another D20 animatic where it cut to the players in the same/similar style of this, kinda round with square glasses and each in a different color. I think Emily was animated losing her shit and they kept showing her even behind the other players still laughing? It doesn't seem to be on this artists' channel though. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm having trouble finding it.
It might be "Cody Sells His Soul" on this Dimension 20 channel!
@@DeepBlueInk That IS it! Thank you! Gah, I'm so mad, I skimmed all of those videos, but I was thinking it was near the end so that's where I was looking.
@@UchihaKat Ayyy! Nice one! It was a spot on description of it!
@@DeepBlueInk Just realized you're the actual artist. Hi! You do great, and very memorable (obviously) work!
From “Where is your bulb now?” to “Liam, flirt with me.” Zac Oyama, everyone!
0:50 0:51 1:37 1:38 1:48
1:19
Then Lapin eats him
It's kinda hard to enjoy this when you know what happens with Lapin soon after...
Crown of Candy was awesome
This scene is so cool and joyful…. And then things got worse
SPOILER!!!!!!!
🤔 I feel like there was a cool opportunity missed when The carrot was the last person Lapin saw before his death. I feel like the Carrot should have brought up this interaction before killing him
Keradin is barely even a person, only a puppet to those with authority, he wouldn't have the presence of mind to think of a witty comment.
*spoiler*
That was all a red herring tho right? I mean I remember this as a big moment of triumph, but the Primogen Alfrede’ was being set up no?
Video #2 of me asking Brennan for book recommendations to become a more informed white male...
🤣
You could check out The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander, Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi, Belly of the Beast by Da’Shaun L. Harrison, and Women Race and Class by Angela Davis. Just a starting point of course, being more informed is something you spend your lifetime doing and learning how to put that info to use, good luck on the journey!
Meh seen better animations of the same scene. Bigger budget doesn’t mean higher quality I guess. \_😏_/
Bet you’re fun at parties
