DIY Pressed Leaf Art
Вставка

- This may look a little familiar...and that's because I made the shelf in a previous DIY. I made the pressed leaf art to go along with it because I have trouble keeping plants alive...but LOVE the green in the room!
It's a very easy (and cheap) way to decorate.
You can always do this with fake leaves as well if you don't have plants around home--or don't want any colour to fade (it will a bit).
Enjoy!

Hello, I drew on a large and real leaf. I want to preserve the leaf and the drawing so that it does not crumble and break. How do you do it? Thank you for the creative, painterly and illustrative artistic answer
I'm so looking forward to this!
You might need to keep an eye on the leaves for mold or other issues. Pressing the leaves over a long period of time removes the moisture which allows them to be preserved as well as flattening them. But if you don't get rid of all the moisture they may start to rot, decay or mold. Hope they stay as pretty as they are here! :)
Small forest dweller sadly the palms don't look very nice anymore (more brown than green) but the other look great! ☺️
That's a shame. Maybe you could try again but press them for longer. If you don't have big enough book, you could use a board or something and add even weight to it :)
Small forest dweller great suggestion!
i thought you were going to SHOW us what your project looked like one month later?
Sorry I didn’t SHOW it (in hindsight I should have) however I did just say I would tell you! As this was a couple years ago now I no longer have the decor as I’ve moved! Sorry and I’ll keep this tip in mind for future projects like this!
Won’t the leafs turn brown? How can I preserve them to not turn brown yet be dried and pressed.
The whole point of pressing them is so they don't go brown
I really liked your idea I am definitely gonna try it 😍😍
Thank you! Happy DIYing :)
You're welcome 😄
Gorgeous! It’s definitely because you pressed it in the book.
Athena P thank you!
Can you use paper towers instead of the tissue paper? I've seen newsprint used also.
Did you add glue to the bigger leaves 🍁? I saw something behind them before you framed them .
Elisa Barranco no glue! I believe it was sticky residue from the piece of paper that was out in there when I bought it
toDIYfor should I put some glue so they don’t move ?
It would have been nice to see the finish result. I thought that was the whole point.
These a finished
May I know how long the leaves would be intact inside the frames ? Won't they crumble ?
The longer you press them the longer they will last. Mine were only pressed maybe a day--and lasted several months. The large palms lasted even longer than the pothos leaves did
@@toDIYfor Thank you
Wow!💖👍🏼
it's cool idea❤ liked:)
Lovely!.....😘

Pressed, yes. Preserved? I don’t think so. Temporary art is fine, but spend the time on preservation and your efforts might last more than 90 days.
It’s too bad you didn’t show the results after 30 days.
Sorry I didn’t SHOW it (in hindsight I should have) however I did just say I would tell you! As this was a couple years ago now I no longer have the decor as I’ve moved! Sorry and I’ll keep this tip in mind for future projects like this!
Let us see the leaves one month later
