I love the cinematographer Grieg Fraser. He shit Geoff Prime with an IT camera. Apparently people were passing out in feud’s birthday arena scene but I thought it was so amazing looking
It was Villanueve's idea. Frank Herbert alluded to something like that in the book, but not specifically. More that their sun did not emit much visible light, but rather a heightened level of infrared radiation that the Giedi Prime atmosphere amplified. The planet was habitable, but just barely.
@@LookHereMars A good example: Lyet Kynes were Chani's father. But this adaptation's spice turned him a woman (? why this plot twist ?). The emperor offer sardaukar help for the harkonnens but those sardaukars disguised as harkonnens (obviously the Padisah emperor not wished his part in the plot revealed whatsoever...). The Bene Gesserits not talk with the baron (that scene were interesting though but not explained enough to consider it serious) because they, you know, hate baron Harkonnen (noone really loves rapists I think). Apart from the many departures this version is good, lightyears better than the idiotic mini-series were, but I still a fan of Lynch's version (consider it as a sin of my age)...
I want tò Say that 2 days ago i watched again dune 2 at the cinema again, the harkonnen arena was spectacular
It was. Having a sun that absorbs light was so cool

Gedi Prime and it's black ⚫ sun would be a good add on although not sure if that is a Villanueve or a Herbert idea

GREAT Channel

Villeneuve has failed to accomplish adapting Herbert's opus: Dune. Way too many departures from canon. Dune-ish. But not DUNE.
As someone who has only seen the movies, out of curiosity could you point out some of the departures from lore?
@@LookHereMars
Yeah, rarely do I hear such discontent with this movie
Oh shut the hell up, its closer then 99% of other adaptations... he pulled it off, period.
And that is the reason why it is so brilliant.
