She is from Butcher Hollow Kentucky. They actually did a movie about her life. Coal miners daughter. She is one of my absolute favorite singers.
Fun fact about this song : Loretta wrote it in 20minutes before a concert one night after a fan of hers went to her back stage before the concert and was upset cause her man was there with another girl and she pointed them out to Loretta and Loretta said honey she ain't good enough to take your man. And that's how it came to her.
I don't drink, but in my entire 45 years of life, I have never seen bourbon that light in color.
I’m predicting Tammy Wynette and Stand By Your Man for tomorrow!! Who agrees?!! ♥️🎶🎶
Y’all really need to watch Coal Miner’s Daughter, Loretta’s bio and also Sweet
Dreams which is Patsy Cline’s. They’re both great movies, very well acted and I think pretty much historically accurate.
heheheh
Tomorrow's drop is a secret! - Keith
I'm thinking the same. If not Tammy singing "Stand by your man" then maybe "Til l can make it on my own" or "You're good girls gonna go bad" or maybe "Kids say the Darndest Things"
So many songs to choose from. But most definitely has to be Tammy Wynette. Wouldn't it be funny if it goes in another direction & we get Donna Fargo singing, "Happiest girl in the whole U.S.A" or "Funny face" 😂😂😂
@@ednafenton7558 Haha 😂! Good idea. I was thinking maybe the opposite though - as in
D I V O R C E !
@@jwmson7791 l was thinking that one to, but forgot to write it down.lol
Loretta is from Butcher Holler Kentucky, she was also Married at 14 to her husband Doolittle Lynn
That's quite young. - Keith
She had her first kid at 14 too and was a mother-of-four by the age of 21 and a grandmother beige of 29 also a little piece of her family history is she's also the sister of Crystal Gayle another great country singer
Butcher Holler Kentucky, is where she was from, another song is Fist City, her husband was a big womanizer and she wrote from her experiences. Don’t come a drinkin’ she has many her most controversial songs was The pill
Between this song and Fist City Loretta is the original bad ass of country music! Love her
We've enjoyed everything of hers we've heard so far. - Keith
Loretta is the same as Dolly when it comes to writing then singing about their childhood. She’s an amazing woman. Her and Patsy Cline were real close too ❤️
I suspect we'll be learning more about all of them. - Keith
Loretta was a total badass. She sang her life but always with a sweet smile on her face. She was so honest that country radio stations refused to play her songs 6 or 8 times.
Listen to Fist City by Loretta. The woman was either a bus driver or teacher one of the two. She'd gone around to Loretta's friends telling them she was taking Doo away from Loretta BUT what really set her off was when her kids come home crying because this same woman told them she was going to be their new mommy. Fist City was born. When she became friends with Patsy Cline they became quite a pair. Watch Coal Miners Daughter you'll see.
Y’all should check out her most controversial song, it’s called “The Pill” radio refused to play it and she wasn’t allowed to perform it on any televised programs
Yes!
Amen! Great song!
She sang so sweetly ab
while threatening a beat down, smiling all the while. True southern woman. BLESS YOUR HEART.
And, yes she's from Appalachia, born and raised in Butcher Holler (Hollow)
Awesome reaction! Loretta Lynn is my favorite. You should listen to "Your Squaw is on the war path" and "The Pill".
I know her Momma would read Tra leaves and such. I always suspected she was Native American, my Nana was and she had sight too. I do as well from time to time but never could control it. I get flashes when I meet people and stuff. It's eerie.
If you haven't watched "Coal Miner's Daughter" you really should. Loretta started out timid, but Patsy Cline taught her to stand up to Doolittle.
I have. At least parts of it, but I was too young. I don't remember it. - Keith
Yeah because Patsy's old man was a woman beater too at least they had a few run-ins from what I understand.
I’m willing to bet a million dollars #4 is Tammy Wynette “Stand By Your Man”
It's either that or "Whoever's in New England."
My guess is kitty wells, it wasn't God who made honky tonk angels.
@@kathymcdaniel6688 They are obviously doing the Mount Rushmore of female country: Patsy, Dolly, Loretta which Tammy is next. You wouldn’t ever do a first Tammy Wynette song without it being “Stand By Your Man” and that songs fits the “woman in love with a man” theme.
@@kathymcdaniel6688 I Hope it's Kitty Wells! I love her.
I'd go with 'These Boots are Made For Walking'.
So far all the songs have had men with 'wandering tendencies'.. ie cheating. But it could be a slightly different theme.
I'm glad I was able to guess this song, "Coal Miners Daughter" is a good song by Loretta Lyn.
Any guesses on the next one? - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts hmmm. I can think of a couple but its most likely going to be an older song sang by probably a classic classy country lady.
There's a newish group called "Chapel Hart" that wrote a song as a response to Jolene called "You Can Have Him, Jolene". I think you'll like that one. The singers performed it on TV in front of Dolly and she endorsed it.
Loretta has another song "Fist City" also about her man.

Loretta Lynn is from Kentucky born and raised. And if legend has it correctly she and her husband Doolittle went round and round on more than one occasion. So yeah she wasn't afraid to go to the city. Loretta songs the pill one's on the way I'm going to hire a note to decorate my home and of course most of the stuff that she did with Conway Twitty my personal favorite being Louisiana woman Mississippi Man. Great reaction guys I absolutely love to look on case face when she first said women like you they're a dime a dozen you can buy them anywhere.
That was a great line. - Keith
Love watching you guys. You should definitely check out one of Loretta's most famous songs, Coal Miner's Daughter. She tells the story of her life growing up in Butcher Hollow, KY. She is one kick ass lady! ❤
Thanks! I think to date, we've done two Loretta songs, and we enjoyed them both. - Keith
I agree they definitely need to react to coal miners daughter, if not already!
There’s a little bit that’s been trying to flirt with my husband for a year now (poor dude is so oblivious, he didn’t even realize), and I sang this song to her face at karaoke tonight. So satisfying. 😂
I saw Loretta Lyn after my mom died and my daughter shook her hand and told Loretta that I sounded just like her I miss her both of them my mom and loretta
Now you are into the OG's of women county singers! All three of the women who have performed in these videos are legendary in the country music genre! For a country music fan, it is sacrilege if you don't know who they are. You could seriously piss someone off if you didn't know who these people are. As always keep it up boys! You're doing an amazing job listening to songs I listen to on a regular basis. It's fun to watch you guys react to songs that I know and love for the first time. It reminds me of when I first heard them and in a way makes me appreciate the song even more watching you guys listen to him for the first time.
Glad you enjoy it. I think it's becoming obvious to us that these folks are legends for a reason. - Keith
Love hearing my fellow Kentuckian!!
She is one of the Queens Of Country. Love her. She and Conway Twitty have at least a dozen duets. Their voices really compliment one another.
Can't wait to see who you're listening to for part 4.
She would and did fight for her man, and don’t you just love how she said it all with a smile on her face!
That’s called a lady from where I’m from. Queen 👑
The mouth was smiling but the eyes weren't. So look out. You are headed for "👊 Fist City".
I love the old school songs like this (and Harper Valley PTA) where they sing like the words are soooo happy! While threatening your life. 😂😂😂
Mr Keith you should know where she from. She is the COAL MINER DAUGHTER from over on Kentucky. The theme song for most every girl in southern WV.
Totally the SWV theme song. This is just exactly like, well, almost every woman you'll ever meet from Logan, Mingo, Wayne, etc.. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts
Yep including myself.. I live in Crosby outside of Houston.. even today I was at work. I’m a sales specialist and somehow she asked about my WV accent and she even asked if I had ever heard or watched COAL MINERS DAUGHTER. I had to laugh and say. Yeah I have but you are really talking to a COAL MINERS DAUGHTER. She was in total shock that there are still coal miners and that my family are miners. Don’t know if you remember the Kepler processing plant in Wyoming County but my family has worked there from the beginning.. My Dad when he was alive and brother are heavy equipment operators on the coal pile and up on the slate dump. They run every pice of equipment there but D-9 high track is mostly what see them on daily. I would love to send some pic of the mines so you could share with Mr Dustin. He seems interested in the life style back home
Felt kinda bad 😔 for Loretta talking about the true story of her life and what she had to endure... may the dear lady rest in peace...
In a world of dollys, be a loretta.
LOL!
Talent beauty and class. She's one of the most genius song writers. Loretta is from Butcher Holler Kentucky
I had to look that up. May as well just say she's from Paintsville. - Keith
Like Patsy Loretta is another one of my heroes!! And she is from Kentucky but lives in my homestate of Tennessee. And I've been to her place and it's gorgeous. And yes us southern women can bless your heart as we smack the hell out of you. This series of women have been great and I can't wait til #4 I have a couple of women I think it can be so I'm excited to see who they picked.
Been a bunch of discussion about that in the comments. We'll let the suspense linger... - Keith
You guys are so Cool! Your reactions are Priceless..
He hit the nail on the head
Love Loretta
I have no bourbon to send, lol. But I highly recommend "They Don't Understand " Sawyer Brown.
I vote for that too!
I first fell in love with her music as a kid watching Hee Haw in syndication. Then her movie Coal Miner’s Daughter came out and, kinda like the Wizard of Oz, was regularly shown on TV. I sit right in front of it and sing every song right along with her. A dream of mine came through a few years ago when I got to see her in concert. It was still an amazing sound.
Clapboards. They’re called clapboards, and they’re used to provide both a visual and an audio cue at the same instant so that the audio and video tracks can be easily synchronized.
She wrote all of her songs from her life experiences.
Im from North Carolina. Grew up in Virginia. I have a saying "If you feel froggy. We'll jump". 😂. Then I go bless your heart.. 😂
Quite typical southern woman thing. - Keith
Loretta was a beautiful lady with beautiful music i use to drink wild turkey 101
Loved the reaction ! I still recommend You're Looking at Country and Coal Miner's Daughter.
Keith dances? Is there a pole involved? (asking for a friend) hehe Loretta is a fireball, I hope you check out more by and about her, great reaction yall!
Me? Pole dancing?
I suppose everyone has their price. But you'd need a pretty popular gofundme to get me on a pole. That one wouldn't be cheap. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts hahahaha
Music I grew up on....I love it...yall r awsome...also I'm a barrel racer and I thunk a nurse is above me cause she saves lives... 🤣 🤣
Hahah, thanks!
There was a performance Monday night that you really would love. Dolly Parton hosted the country music awards & Kelly Clarkson payed tribute to her with a stunningly beautiful version of I will always love you. An absolute must see.
Ooh, I bet that was good. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts She starts it soft like Dolly's version then builds it up and ends it big like Whitney's version. This would make a great reaction video. Kelly is an amazing and sometimes underrated singer.
Loretta was my mama's favorite singer and Mom and I got to go see her in concert. Loretta is from Butcher Holler, Kentucky. I'm from Western Kentucky. Loretta wrote most of her songs and a lot of them were about her husband Doo Little Lynn. He would run around on her and she would write songs about the way he did her, but she always stuck by him and she was with him till the day he died. Also a lot of her songs are about him running around while she's at home raising the kids. She's got to take no s*** attitude but she took a lot of s*** from Doo.
yeah, I'll never really get that. It's not like Loretta would've had any trouble at all finding someone loyal. - Keith
She also gave it back.💩💩
Sissy Spacek starred in a movie about Loretta Lynn. L. Lynn approved it before release. Watch it if you can find it.
Loretta is from Butcher Hollar, Kentucky. You should react to Coal Miners Daughter.
Love you guys
This was my take. This and Fist City. By the way, he is still with me and she is long gone.

Yes I was hoping this was going to be on the list just didn't want to say anything to spoil the surprise as far as Loretta Lynn songs I seen a lot of people on here said (Coal Miner's Daughter) which is based off of her life I agree with that one another good one would be (don't come home a drinkin)
WooHoo! Love this song!😄
You Ever Hear Us Say
Well Bless Her Heart 😊😈
She Better Run Like Hell !! 😂
She has a great song called "Fist City" You would love it. It's along the same lines as this but the title says it all. Either react to it or listen to it on your own.

Oh yeah I remember now. I even hit a like in that one. 😁
Has anybody recommended "You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly"? By Loretta and Conway
I've seen it a few times. No idea how many votes it has, since Dustin tracks that. The title makes me want to react to it though. - Keith
I'm guessing Tammy Wynette is number 4. Stand By Your Man. These 4 ladies (and Kitty Wells and Dottie West) are the pioneering ladies of country music.
Awesome!
She’s saying “Bless Your Heart” in song and with a smile!
True Story!
You really should check out Loretta's Sweet Thing with Ernest Tubb. It along these same lines. First time I heard it I LMAO.
You need to listen to her song called Fist City
Fist City is another one thats great
Great reaction. Very simple music, but It can lure you in all happy happy, so that you go.. ' wait what, did she say?!'.
That smile while I'm telling you in so many words to back off or I'll kick your azz, reminds me of my mother. She had that same attitude,,she'd smile at you and give you both barrels. ( figuratively and literally)
Your mother, and hundreds of appalachian girls/women I've known in my lifetime. It's a thing in the south, and in appalachia. - Keith
I love ya'lls facial expressions in this one. I remember hearing this growing up and seeing Loretta perform on TV.
She's from Kentucky. Yes she is Appalachian.
She’s from Butcher Holler Kentucky
Y'all should hear her Fist City next...this was the first warning, that one was the final...

Another that would go with these is Homewrecker by Gretchen Wilson. Not AS good as these, but still worth the listen.
Some other great song by Loretta are The Pill, Don't Come Home A Drinking, After the Fire is Gone, One's on the Way.
Jack White worked with her on the album Van Lear Rose from that album: Story of My Life and Miss Being Mrs. and the duet with Jack White, Portland, Oregon
Loretta was scrapper. She would fuck someone up. She's from Butcher Holler. (not hollow) Butcher Holler is in the Appalachian Mountains. It's an unincorporated town just outside of Van Leer Kentucky (coal mining town). I love Loretta. She's like me and another girl I used to run around with, we'd smile before we made someone eat pavement. 😂
I'm not one to fight over a guy, if he wants to go, bye! But if he's told her she's trash and she persists, she's gonna need to make a dentist appointment. This might be why I'm almost 50 and never been married lol!
Y'alls reactions were perfect! As always you made me giggle.
As for the burbon...that wasn't aged well at all!! Looks like water with food coloring in it. And then y'all said it tasted like cough syrup? Yeah, um, hard pass.
I had to look that up on the map. Southeast of Paintsville. Yep, that's coal country. The ladies tend to be scrappy by default in those hollows. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts a branch of my family line is from Russel, also Appalachian. Y'all got Mr wanting to sing again with this old stuff. Thank you!
If that bourbon was aged four years it did not look it.
Great reaction! Loretta don't mess around. She will cut a b*
You should see the movie Coal Miners Daughter about her life. She was a feisty one. Don't think you'll be disappointed. Also Patsy Cline's Sweet Dreams. Til the next 🖒
I saw parts of that as a kid, but I was too young to remember any of it. - Keith
My favorite part of this entire song has always been how sugary sweet she is while singing lol
It's called a clapperboard. ;)
You gotta see Coal Miner's Daughter. Fantastic movie. It really helps you appreciate her badassery.
She ups the ante in another great song, 'Fist City.' It makes a great follow-up reaction.
Another great from loretta lynn in your sqaw is on the war path
I'll add it to the list -Dustin

Y’all please forgive my memory.
Loretta is from Kentucky
Love Loretta This song and Fist City are my two favorites of hers. I'm with your women on this. She is absolutely Appalachian. You can hear it a little more in Coal Miners Daughter. She says bornd rather than born. Appalachian speak typically adds letters to the end or beginning of words and sometimes in the middle. Like instead of Irish they said Iarish. They barely say the I after the r.. My grandparents were from Appalachia in Kentucky. My favorite things they said were "its airish out thar tday" and "stop that messin an a gaumin" took us til we were teens to figure that one out. We'd just stopped what we were doing and it worked so....Garmin is an Irish word that means messing or like gummin up the works. There's my Appalachia lesson for the day. 🤣🤣🤣 Another notable fact about Loretta is that she bought the entire town of Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
Yeah, my wife's from Michigan, and I took her to places in WV where she had a lot of trouble understanding people. - Keith

One of my favorite lines from the movie was when she dragged her husband out of the back seat of a car where he was making out with some woman. The woman says Do you know who I am? Loretta says no I don't know who you are but I know what you are.
