I actually had some lessons with this Mike (Schy) back in the late 80’s - early 90’s. Good dude. He carried Bryson’s bag at the US Amateur that Bryson won.
So far, it hasn’t for me. I made a solution 5 days ago and I’m still using it to test golf balls. Boy am I glad I found this test!! I had a ball that didn’t even float!
Does the forward momentum of the ball along with its velocity not counteract the heavy point? An object under force wants to move in the direction of the force so, so surely there would have to be some considerable weight to the heavy side to act against the forward momentum? I mean i guess if the heavy side was on the break side it may extenuate the break but on the same note could you not place the heavy side against the break to straighten the putt?
I did this. I found that all the balls when rotated in the solution came to a different balance point. This leads me to believe that the balls I tested were so close to being perfect there was no off balance. I even tried different salt level solutions and temperatures.
@@chuckyz2 the point of your comment? Robots have hit unbalanced balls to show that if not on its perfect center it will shift the direction. Soaking is old school and it’s not a perfect method compared to the ball marker that spins up and finds the perfect roll. Crazy enough but it does make a difference and just cause it’s a premium ball doesn’t mean it’s perfectly balanced.
@@SpudOutdoors the heavy side will always find center. Rather it is a little heavier on one end or lot heavier on that end. Floating can tell you by how fast the heavy end goes to the bottom how far out of balance it is. Also, what happens with a braking putt. Does the line stay in line with the direction the ball is going? Why find the balance when you can actually balance the ball? Why mark an unbalanced ball and put it into play? Why not just find perfectly balanced balls and play them? Or figure out a way to balance the ones that are out of balance? With technology being far more advanced these days than in times past, why is it even an issue? But aside from all that, it is an issue and the most rational solution is not alignment of an unbalnced ball, rather it is how to balance that ball so it is no longer out of balance. With bumps and cleat marks and bouncing and getting kicked one way or the other, the alignment will only be a factor on a perfect green with no undulation. Then you have the situations where the ball is actually spinning at 2k to 10k in the air and how the balance can effect that. As it will cause the ball to turn more to one side or the other or to even stop fading or drawing as much as it would compared to a balanced ball. Then how it is effected on miss hits. The only real solution is a true balance. The closest you can expect to get to that is by floating and removing weight from heavy side till the ball no longer comes up to the same spot every time. Then you have the question of how perfectly round is the ball? My question was just to see if anyone would would respond. Your next Q should be how to remove weight without effecting performance. Your Q's to the manufacturers should be why we have to bother when we know they can make them balanced if they wanted to.

Because if it were true, DoucheShampoo would be winning every week or at least placing 2nd or 3rd. The guy is a fucking head case and tries to science his way out of shit instead of saying “well maybe I hit a bad shot”
Mr. Surly Nobody wins every week or even places 2nd or third every week. Nobody. You still haven’t shown that the idea here is wrong.
Flounder VFW These great players did win many tournaments, but that has nothing to do with idea that out-of-balance balls may not roll true. Someone had to win those early tournaments and if NO ONE was paying any attention to poorly weighted balls, then it had no impact on who won. So again, explain how an out-of-balance ball rolls as true as one that is not.
Craig Piersma lmao do you think that the Titleist QA department is that bad that the balls are gonna be that unbalanced? Someone’s gotta believe Dooshampoos idiocy, might as well be another idiot.
Mr. Surly You, sir, are aptly named.
