Ain't it so? Was a time when we fished land locked salmon called Kokanee in Pacific northwest waters of Washington. Ya gitcha a pot and throw in some whole kernel corn, a box of cornmeal, and a can of minced Mackerel, maybe with some special oils thrown in for measure.like Anise. Stir that all up and fling it across the water with a salad spoon a 'chummin''. A kernel of corn on a small hook for a tender mouthed Kokanee cast along the thin chum line. What fun. Schools would pass by and the fishing was a frenzy. Then nothing for a while. The recipe was dead without Mackerel. For your distance casting you might want a Trebuchet to fling the chum.
Yes, isn't that just the way it went everywhere! Unfortunately the powers that be, ignore these problems just so they can line their own pockets. What are you going to do brother, thanks 😁👌
Nice fishing. The only time I ever caught mackerel that size was about 15 years ago down at Greystones, using single larger sized metal lures.
It's a shame brother, I just wish the people in charge would wake up! Thanks bud😁👌
Deadly stuff bro! Beautiful looking spot to fish! Had some similar size mackies in west cork a few weeks ago
Hi Ciaran! At least the fishing still good in some parts of our beautiful country! Is Justin fortunate about the rest, thanks brother 😁👌
I went off eating fish for several months! Couldnt stand the smell or eating it! I started to smoke mackerel in a little smoker and they are absolutely bloody delicious! What an amazing fish! If you don´t eat it, other fish will! LOL
Too many muddy catfish! That's your problem brother! A few smokey mackerel, just what the fishmonger ordered 😋 thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch Hahaha you aren´t wrong there Billy! 🤣🤣🤣
@akwamarsunzal 🤣👌
Nice session Billy, weather was better there than here!
Depends on your perspective brother 🤣 the fish don't like it too much! But great for sun bathing. Thanks bud😁👌
Dinner sorted , nice one 👍👍🤠
It sure is, thanks bud 😁👌
Yes billy , them mackers were huge matey lol. All the best from G.Y
Thanks Carl, much appreciated Brother 😁👌
Those Mackerel reminded me of my childhood holidays in Cornwall...We had bona-fide 2lbers there back in the late 70s,80s...My old grandad used to call them Ocean Goers lol...Happy days fresh smoking them on the Beach..
Cheers Billy....Cheers for the great video again 👍 👏
Glad you liked it brother, if only we could bring back the old days! See you on the beach 😁👌
Mackerel fishing in Cornwall where I live can still be very good and the odd 2 lb one can still be had from time to time, great sport on light tackle caught individually.
@glockeva1 good to hear, does fish have almost disappeared most places, thanks Brother 😁👌
BILLY! Open sea! Nice! Off to North Spain for some open sea and estuary fishing next week 🙂
Best of luck Brother, thanks bud 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch Thanks Billy! Love your videos man! Great format, great content! Whats not to like!
nice one billy boy,💪🎣 got to love a macky
Yes you do! Thanks Brother 😁👌
Stunning spot once again billy, can’t imagine you can park very close to this one 😂, appreciate your efforts brother 🤘🏼
Hi Paul. I don't see the point in going to Norway. If all you're going to do is stand on a pair, and fish the same Mark that everybody else does. It is actually more difficult to find these places, the most people would imagine! Thanks brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch true true buddy,
Bill man, they're always good but this is properly good. I'll never stop appreciating them brother
Fantastic! You gotta love um, thanks Brother 😁👌
We can't seem to find the mackerel this year in Tenerife. Nice video Billy ! 😊
Maybe next year! Thanks Brother 😁👌
Out by the open sea, you advised me a couple of years ago. And it works for me. That trip I catch even my first halibut from shore. Nice episode again. Thnx
Anytime Pim! Glad it worked out for you. Thanks Brother, much appreciated 😁👌
Nice mixed bag Billy, and some good eats😊
Thanks brother 😁👌
Great place, nice session. I hate wee coalies, disgusting smelly little buggers (except when I can't catch anything else, which this year has been quite bloody often). How beautiful is Norway? It's on the bucket list. See you on the beach Billy.
Hi Colin. Yes any fish is better than no fish! hope you have a great time, and catch a real beast. Thanks Brother 😁👌
magic stuff billy ! love it
Thanks Brother 😁👌
I love mackerel fishing, provided it's one at a time and not by the string load. Tasty, great bait, and they go like the clappers on light gear.
Another fabulous video - I think Nat Geo should be knocking on your door 🙂
I could not agree more brother, one at a time is the way to go! But I'll have to leave it at that, there's somebody knocking at the door 🤣👌
Nice
Thanks brother 😁👌
hey billy the man , top content again
Thanks Brother, much appreciated 😁👌
Thanks brother 😁👌
Great video, again. I am up in Tromso in two weeks, would be great to join you for a session.
Thanks brother, glad you like the video! Unfortunately I'm on my way in the other direction, who knows maybe someday 😁👌
Nice location Billy with even nicer fish, well done you. Thanks for sharing your day.
Thanks Graham, how good I go wrong with that place. See you on the beach 😁👌
Yet another cracking video Billy,,, Cheers 🎣🎣❤️❤️
Anytime Anthony, glad you like it brother 😁👌
Great video Billy. I once had a 25lb coal fish and it was a crazy fight, one I will always remember.
All the best from North Wales
What a fantastic fish! Must have been a hell of a scrap. Thanks Brother 😁👌
For me cod is the stinky one, they're just nasty. Always defecating everywhere 🤢. Nice mackerel! They really do get big here, I caught many weighing almost 2kg. They're like baby tuna especially if you get one on every hook on the feathers.
Great video as always Billy!
See you on the beach!
Don't you just love it! When a cod craps all the way down your leg 🤣 yes! You got to love those mackerel. Thanks Brother 😁👌
My friend got back from saltsturmen the other week and as you said fishing was hard in the fjords
Im out to saltsturmen on the 30th for a week so hopefully fishing pick up
Hi Adam. The fishing should pick up, the days are getting shorter. And with the darkness, will come better fishing. Thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch touch wood billy
The mackerel in Kerry have been surprisingly big this year,,,and my freezers are almost full already, happy days
You got good down there, Gerard! Kerry was some nice mackerel! 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch yeah Brandon has quality this year,,, I’d usually wait till September but the quality is about now,, just need the weather to go pull a net first the sandeels
Great video
Nice to see the mackerel again
You may think it's a wee bit stupid
Is it ok to use spinning rods for fishing jigs ?
Hi Niall. Potato, potato! It's the same thing really. No worries brother, of course you can. Thanks bud😁👌
Love your channel billy. Tight lines
Hi Jon, thanks Brother. Glad you enjoyed the videos😁👌
Fantastic. Another great video. Thank you.
Glad you liked it Brother, tight lines 😁👌
Another great video bro 👌 keep up the good work 👏🏻
Thanks Brother, will do 😁👌
Looks good - I've caught mackerel of 1kg+ in Malangen - amazing fight, feels like something much bigger. We've fished Arctic Norway every year for the past 20 years (apart from COVID time) and we were wondering if it was worth trying further south - is the fishing around Trondheim as good as it is around Tromsø? In particular we love big coalfish - my PB is over 15kg, so getting to something like that would be great. I've actually posted a video of one of us catching a big coalfish on a fly rod - it is pretty intense!
Fantastic! You can't be a good mac attack, thanks brother, and tight lines 😁👌
11:10 Lobotomy like Jack Nicholson in the kuku’s nest 🫣😅😂
Roth day to be a fish 🤣
@@Billyfishing_watch😅🤣

I will, thanks Brother 😁👌
Did Billy make it back on the tide? Did he fish the other spot ? Tune in next time to see 😂. Awesome video again Billy 👍 j
He did! No he didn't! Thanks J, glad you liked it Brother 😁👌
Mate you gotta come fish the north east US. New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts.
Hi bud. Maybe some day, get me some of those stripers, and flounder! Thanks Brother 😁👌
Hi Billy, Do you still Ike Jime (fully bleed) the fish you are going to use for bait? is it not better to keep the blood in?
If I am undecided about whether or not to eat them, then yes! But if they are going straight on a hook, then no! Thanks Brother 😁👌
Nice one billstar
Much appreciated Brother 😁👌
Sorry for spamming you !
But warm smoked mackrel OMG! Its awesome😋😋😋
Nice with some spam too 🤣
@@Billyfishing_watch 🤣 !!!

Thanks Brother 😁👌
Thanks again for sharing your fishing adventures. I'm sorry if you have answered this question before but when you travel Norway do you speak Norwegian wherever possible?, I plan to visit myself and I know Norwegian people in general can speak good English however what level of Norwegian do you speak?, also what Norwegian phrases would you recommend to get by and show the natives that efforts to speak Norwegian is being made?. Thanks and sorry for the off topic questions. Keep making these videos 👍👍
Apologies, but my channel is about fishing! Thanks Brother
Total respect, but never hurts to ask, tight lines to you fishing brother 👍
@glockeva1 thanks Brother 👌
Do u usually fish on rising tide or doesnt it matter that much for u
Low water is always a good point to start! Because you can assess where all the snugs are. But sometimes you just need to roll the dice, and fish whatever way is possible! Thanks Brother 😁👌
Stinky haha 😂 I find pollack and pouting absolutely stinking 🤢 why are the cod in Norway so diseased? I never caught a deformed looking cod here in Éire the rare time you do catch one
Hi Dazzer. Checking fish for disease, is just protocol. I do it in every country I fish in, thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch jaysus I must have gotten lucky so 😅 Enjoy Billy, I’m out off the Saltees next week if the weather is good and potential St Michael’s point
1:58 !!! Not getting off here????😂
No wonder, you are always fishing??? Norwegian women are pretty
(Many of Them)!!!
They just need to speak Norwegian to me and Im melting 🫠!!! So charming!
Not pretty - Keep talking😂
At the end of the day they all smell fishy😂
You are not alone in that sentiment, thanks Brother 😁👌
