Took me a while to wrap my head around this one but ultimately showcases the pure power of Fractal's ecosystem and design. At first I was really overwhelmed by Fractal's UI, but now I could never imagine a modelling system without this level of feature/configuration. Thanks Leon!
I have the units sitting behind me right now and am more than scared again of this monster of functionality. Thanks, Leon, for this educational lesson again.
I always hated wah pedals because of the expression pedal movement, now this trick with a single footswitch gives me cool wah sounds without the big footprint of the exp. Thanks Leon, you're a genius! By the way I wanted to request a function like the Digitech Ricochet has, now I can also manage to do that with this trick.
Lots of great stuff here as always Leon, l love my FC6, I use it with my III and FM3 and it amazes me at times the incredible versatility of the Fractal units
@@G66eu No, haven't tried it yet. I plan to setup my FC6 so I'm using it the same either with my III or FM3, so all the switching is being done by the FC6 and whatever unit is actually producing all the tones will be sat behind me on my cabs. I do plan to try OMG9 sometime though
Hey Leon, I love your videos, but I'm having a bitch of a time w/ these darn per preset overrides. Any chance you could do a video that shows how to use a per preset override that's accessible from the Scenes layout? Just a suggestion. From my scenes layout i want to be able to press/hold a button for that scene and engage some major sustain/feedback. The problem is once I set up the preset override and move to another scene, I can't return to the scene that shares the same button. The scene becomes inaccessible but for using my mouse and accessing it in Axe Edit.
Dude! That's genius! A control switch to get a swell out of the wah. So tricky! But it's not tied to a LFO. It will just rise by itself by the attack setting? Then it releases back to baseline? I'm going to try that.
I couldn't make it work on the Axe 3. The Wah block wouldn't even engage. It stayed bypassed. The Wah control button didn't move either. I must have something different in set-up. Any ideas?
@@aaronweaver607 I'm having the same issue. If I set the Control Switch to latching, it works but that defeats the entire purpose. If I figure it out, I will post here with the solution.
Bottom 6 just set to "Scene" in the switch editor on the Controllers screen. What do you mean "display presets"? You mean display 6 different individual presets, or change to control individual blocks within a currently-selected preset?
@@SixStringHarmonies yeah, top 6 show 6 different presets, and bottom 6 show 6 scenes for whichever preset is selected....if that’s even possible....only had my AxeFXIII for a couple of months,so still learning my way around..

The easier way is to set a Master Layout, where you can use to access menus of your choice. Or you could just set the top 6 to "Preset" and the bottom 6 to "Scene". A pleasure as always!
I have been waiting for this video!! Leon always makes the axe fx stuff easy to understand. Thank you Leon!!! 🙌🏻
Been meaning to do it for a while!
@@G66eu really appreciate this series! Keep it coming!

The whammy is another great application! I really like it with the CS tied to delay time and feedback for a self osciallting "whoosh" too.
Thanks Leon. This is perfect.

Great ideas about using the PP layout! Thank you!
MOMENTARY switch not possible with Per Preset ?

Using this layout, the Per Preset, you can use that same layout on every preset but have different blocks saved? I’m using FM3 with FC6

Okay, make sure on the PP page and switch you are trying to use to un-assign the hold function.
So if I wanted my FC-12 to display presets on the top 6 buttons and scenes on the bottom 6,is this how I would do that?
Yes!! 😎
Bottom 6 just set to "Scene" in the switch editor on the Controllers screen.

This would be one way to do it. You could also just have a dedicated layout with your presets assigned globally on it too.
