Two misfits go on the run in this hilarious, heart-warming and award-winning adventure.
Troubled, hip-hop-loving 12-year-old city kid Ricky Baker (Julian Dennison) has passed through a string of foster homes. Now Child Welfare officials take him deep into the New Zealand bush to live with welcoming Bella (Rima Te Wiata) and her grouchy husband Hec (Sam Neill) in their remote shack. After a while, Ricky begins to settle in to his new home and even acquires a dog - which he names Tupac. But an abrupt change in circumstances causes Hec and Ricky to flee together into the bush, hotly pursued by the authorities.
Adapted from a much-loved novel, this charming adventure teams veteran star Sam Neill with outstanding newcomer Julian Dennison as the odd couple who must learn to get along. It earned talented 'What We Do in the Shadows' director Taika Waititi several film festival awards. His next film is the big budget Marvel adaptation 'Thor: Ragnarok'
