I've seen another repair video where yes the back isn't removed, but if you do it that way be very careful of glass dropping into the lenses, try to hold the phone at an angle while doing the removal so debris falls more out then in
so do i need to take the back panel off to do it? cuz i was getting in my car to leave school and my phone fell out of my pocket and i ran it over and got a mile down the road and realized i didnt have my phone so i went back to the school and seen it in the parking space on its back and the back camera was shattered and i was a little bummed
i find the long method to helps protect the camera module when swapping glass if you camera does function or focus, i think the camera module might be damaged
I would usually recommend to just do the long method of removing the back cover and do the camera glass without the risk of chipping the glass on to the camera
@@rickstechrepairs know of a place where I can get an OEM matte back? As the replacement I have is glossy (which I'm fine with), and it doesn't fit correctly.
You should mention in the future that you're using a heating pad to soften the glass glue before removal, and that people can use a heat gun or hair dryer instead.
Does this method void warranty? Upgraded to better phone and wanting to return this one while also trying to avoid paying the full insurance claim just to fix the back glass.
@@rickstechrepairs yeah I went ahead and followed your tutorial and was able to get the new glass in. Lol the circles don't line up completely even with the camera lens but thankfully it doesn't seem to show when looking on the screen. Should I be waiting for a period of time before messing with my phone? Lol I didn't have your recommended glue so its the provided adhesive that was on the back of the replacement lens Oh and THANK YOU for your tutorial!
If you used the double sided adhesive there should be no need to wait for it to "cure" so to speak Thanks for your comments :) , it's great hearing my videos are helping people
Just got my screen replaced theres glue all over my camera leavinf the wide angle lens completely blurred and the whole camera looking a mess any advice?

that i would call the quick method, where you only remove the glass at risk of dropping it on to the camera
Sweet thanks for the video. It will come in handy in the future when mine is busted all the way.
Glad to help

It looks that don't need to take off the back cover, only the rear camera glass
you dont have to but as i mention in the video you risk having glass falling on to the camera and damaging it
Just so I am clear... it would be totally possible to do this withouth taking the back off the phone right??
You can leave the back on it but you risk damaging the camera itself
Taking the back off and then doing the camera glass removes this risk
Thanks 👍🏽
Your welcome
If my rear camera glass isn't cracked is it better to do the quick or long way?
I would usually recommend to just do the long method of removing the back cover and do the camera glass without the risk of chipping the glass on to the camera
Thanks for a great vid. I'll shop some of your linked items. Do you have a link for this S20 FE camera glass replacement?

@@rickstechrepairs is there a thin plastic film already applied on the camera glass out of box??
I'm watching for the OEM matte back. As I wrecked my original one while taking the back off while replacing the speaker
Bugger

It would, but would they spot it?
Breaking the camera glass would already void the warranty

I would say no unless you did something that wrecked the phone.
Is the back cover fixed without glue ?
Double sided tape from factory
Just got my screen replaced theres glue all over my camera leavinf the wide angle lens completely blurred and the whole camera looking a mess any advice?
Most glue should just wipe off the camera glass
From where you buy camera glass
Aliexpress
How much would it cost me to get the broken camera glass fixed from the authorised service centre?
No idea
Is it ganna be waterproof
Yes it should be with enough glue
Will the phone remain waterproof after?
I wouldn't want to test it
My phone rare camera glass got spider net crack
Is it still waterproof?
Hard to tell but I would predict yes
Hey dude will the phone still be waterproof after this do you think?
all depends on how well the back got taken off and also how much glue you used on the reinstall
No the phone is not anymore waterproof, look at the cam glass the adhesive is not around the edges
ouh i forgot to ask something...is it still have the ip68 after replacing progress??
i wouldnt want to test it
So u didn't put the glue in back?
Not on this one, I used the included double sided tape
@@rickstechrepairs ouh i see..tanks for your information ☺btw im from malaysia🙌

Wieso macht man das Handy dazu vollständig auf ?
