- Rising Star⭐ is only 3 weeks old. He starts bullying Queen👑Unik. How are Minze Teije and his temporary friends. (Which I don't know the names of) Rinse Janko is sleeping... And we see another colt from us!!!

I just love how this breeding stable truly lets horses be horses while gently teaching them the things they will need to be good, non-traumatized horses. Putting young stallions together in a herd after a certain age, just as herds do if left to their own devices. Familiarizing foals with head collars and being tied. Touching them all over using scratches, not tools, and not letting foals or the mares be high horse over Yvonne and other humans. I have seen yearlings come from breeders who do none of these things, either they interfere too much or too little. As a result, the yearlings have a steep traumatic learning curve. In the wrong hands, these horses shut down, act out, are eventually shunted around as "bad" horses. Kudos to Yvonne and Rein! ❤🐴❤🍎🥕❤
My time learning about horses, then having my own taught me, as with all animals - love & respect is a two way street. You get more cooperation from an animal that loves & respects the human than with just one of those. 🐴♥️
It's my favorite thing about this channel! We see the horses being horses. The foals get to play together, even as they grow, the mares live together, they're all very calm and you can tell they're well-loved by their human handlers too. It's precious

@@saralackey3435 Yup. I stop nursing after they bite me. The first time is usually an accident. Teeth are sharp, and they're just learning how much pressure to apply to do what they want them to. However...
My now 5 yr old was about 8 months old when I weaned him. He bit me the first time, just a small little nip, but that's a very sensitive area, and I yelped. Apparently, he thought it was funny, because he giggled, looked me right in the eye, and chomped down. Drew blood and everything. Little snot went cold turkey, right then. He now starts kindergarten next week, and I am so ready to a have a few hours break during the day. 😆 Just hope my 2 month old doesn't bite me the same way....
Oh goodness, Yes! By weaning time, the mare needs a break! Colts will be colts! Little high-energy pests 🤣
One day RS will go home to his herd and wonder “where are all the black horses?? 😅

RStar is little Mr. McBitey. He is determined to get that braid, Uniek was very patient with him...for now. Minze has surprised me with his growth, what a fine looking young colt he is becoming. Minze Teije is even bigger than I thought from yesterday's video. And his friend recognized Yvonne from the situation the day before.
He adores his mum. He wouldn't keep trying to play with her. She knows he's a copy and is quite capable of reprimanding him when she wants too? In fact it is so funny when a mare does discipline her colt for the first time!!

I got bitten by a foal (I think it was a colt) once, too. In my upper arm. Hurts like hell. You see the horses teeth on your arm for a few days. But don’t worry, after a a few weeks it is forgotten again. I prefer a foal bite over a dog bite. I got bitten by about 6-7 dogs in my life and some ended bloody. It happened when I visited customers where I was announced by letter beforehand. In this case, mom has the chance to bite back. Mares are very good teachers to foals.

You are a horse whisperer. You know all their names. The life with such sweet historical animals in the countryside is a paradise in itself. I rided a horse once in my life for half an hour and i paid the equivalent of 20 Euro for that. I still remember this wonderful short experience. I am 61 years old i come to the conclusion that there is no healthy peaceful clear minded and reassuring life other than the life in the countryside and WITH animals. Horses are the top of the top to live with.

Colts will also kick, so you have to remember to stand WAY back, well out of 'kicking range', or VERY close so they can't take a good swing at you ! I forgot those rules, once, and a two week old colt just NAILED my knee to 'remind' me ! LOL....

I really can't imagine that Uniek is putting up with a feisty little baby colt too long before she puts him squarely in his place. She's too experienced of a mother mare to tolerate cheeky colts.

I love the affection you have for these beautiful horses. As a child I would go riding at a large horse ranch. I always rode Big John. The others were afraid of him because he was very big. He really was very gentle and easy to ride.🐎♥️

I grew up in Scotland and owned a black Fell Mountain pony, she was 14 hands, very strong and sure footed. As a teenager she was my first love. We used to ride to the beach occasionally ( it was a long way on busy roads) to swim in the 🌊 she loved to swim it was magical. So I love watching your videos as they remind me of Ebony and my happy childhood 💕💕

@@janetmajor1152 it was! We were not rich but lucky to live in the countryside. It taught me so much about responsibility, duty,risk, generosity ( especially from my parents who I know made sacrifices for me). I shared Ebony with a friend and one would ride a bike while the other rode 😆. We used to sell the manure to local gardeners 😂. I look back on that time as magical so I love watching the Freesians.
Loved seeing Minze Teija he is getting so big and you can really see Reintje in him. Love love this channel we get the most magnificent Friesian horse stud stable ever but we get to learn Friesian and Dutch as well. Good zo everybody we're skooier for more.❤❤😍

Queen Uniek has had 6 foals including sweet Star her stillborn baby the others were named Tialda,Hana,Markije,Eefje and Julius.All except Julius and Star are mares(then there’s Rising Star of course)and all have been sold Eefje,her last baby prior to being pregnant with Star was sold a few months ago,Markije unfortunately passed away as a yearling from colic and I’m not sure where Tialda and Hana are living now. However Uniek’s son Julius (renamed Vilmar)is one of the horses of Princess Beatrix of Orange (former Queen of the Netherlands.)which I think is very fitting for the Son of Royalty🐎💜

Uniek knows what the story is and accepts it. She is a wonderful mother! When I rode I would always bring apples or carrots to the horses I would ride. I loved feeding them.

Since Rising Star had such a rough beginning may I recommend waiting longer than usual to ween him I dearly love the Queen what a remarkable horse. I don’t have money to send gifts but I send love and prayers still just an old lady from Texas U.S.A.
Minze Teije looks so good, and he hadn't forgotten Yvonne, that was lovely to see. Hendrik was a favourite of mine, did he get castrated? He still looks amazing. Yet another lovely, thanks everyone. And on behalf of the Queen thanks to Oda, you have a new best friend.

@@annemansouri6352 I do not think yvonne has said if uniek will be bred again… uniek has arthritis and when rising star is weaned she is going to take uniek to have her arthritis evaluated by a vet she said a few months ago

Once our colts got too 'studly' as their mom's didn't really correct their now pushy-not-playful behaviors, or they started outright learning to flirt with the other ladies, they got moved to the pasture with the more dominant geldings to finish their socialization skills before they were adopted out. Luckily they were not so pushy with we humans after the initial playtime stages while they were still small.
I'm guessing a good nip from an elder gelding will make the colt stop & reconsider doing to their mom. 🐴
@@carolmiller5713 same with cats - kittens need to be with their mothers long enough to learn 'manners'. There is a lovely video of a 'grandpa' ex feral cat who helps foster kittens. If they 'cheek' him too much, he just holds them down with his paw until they calm down

It's so cute watching Rising Star playing biting Momma. Does he have teeth now or just gums? His little bites don't hurt her, I'm sure, or she'd nip him but good on his butt. LOL I love RS. He's so relaxed and at home. He has no clue he's not black. LOL I love keeping up with these horses. Love how they train them and how they all go out together.
There was a TV ad years ago in USA that showed a frazzled (super stressed) mother hiding in her tub filled with Calgon bath salts/bubbles and her kids on other side of door, banging away. Mom is seen with a big smile on her face, ignoring her kid's outbursts and relaxing saying "Calgon take me away"!! That thought went through my mind seeing RS bothering Uniek!! Calgon....take me away!!!
