    Just picked up one like this with ajustable strength setings for a $1.00 works great. I also have 3 Late 1940's models that like this one a warming Mode. Plus about 10 other brands some a 100 years old that work great. Also their are four sided Percolator Basket Filters and they work great. And done right grounds free! I also grind my own coffee.

    We use the old style peculator to this day! Coffee is so much better to us using these type over the standard coffee makers they sell! Heck ya put us in the contest buddy! Would love to have that old peculator! Hope you have a great rest of the week!

    I started of not knowing what a percolator is then ended it wanting one. The coffee even looked awesome

      It's great! It's hard to find them around anymore but I'm sure you could order one offline. They make non electric ones too like I show in the video. That one can work on a campfire or gas stove. No power needed!

    I haven a pyrex flameware glass percolator from the 50's. It is my go to every day. I also have a Cabela's stainless steel percolator for camping. Although there is a learning curve to using a percolator, once you learn it there is no better cup of coffee! Thank you for the video!

      I love old Pyrex stuff! Especially the Fire King Jadeite stuff. So cool. Yes you are right! It’s hard to beat a cup from a percolator. Two weeks ago our power went out over night and was out most of the morning. I broke out my stainless steel camping percolator and made a cup on our gas stove! So good. Thanks.

    Your informative video answered my question. Thank you. Don’t need a Percolator. I’ve got grandma’s. Thanks

    Oh yeah ! I'd like a chance to have that percolator. Coffee from a drip just doesn't compare. My grandparents started me drinking coffee when I was really young and besides putting on my glasses it's the very next thing every day. If you saw my video on tomato gravy, I have the exact same stovetop/camping percolator. Great memories with one of those. Thanks Ronnie

      Yes I saw that tomato gravy and I seen that percolator! I started drinking at a early age too. My aunt's and uncle would say it's going to stunt my growth lol. Thanks Tony.

    I have never saw one like that. If I win I would like to FWD to the comment of your choice. I have the old aluminum ones that I have picked up in yard sells and antique shops. Got one in my house and my camper. Lol your right the coffee is much better in them. Thanks for sharing your coffee ☕️ video.

    We used to have big ones in the shops on the ships. One pot would last all day and it would be just about thick enough to stand a spoon in it by the end of the day. LOL. If you pick me, give it to one of your younger subscribers that may not have ever had real percolated coffee before.

    • @SouthernFoodJunkie
      @SouthernFoodJunkie  5 років тому

      Wow, I bet that was a big pot! I have a 30 cup one too as you would see at church dinners etc. As of right now, Most ppl have said they didn't want it so I may just end up having to keep it lol. I think I got maybe two ppl that want it. It is cool though. I was just trying to do something nice. I sorta thought more would want it.

      Everybody wants to just drop an already measured pod into the top of their fancy new coffee makers Ronnie. It takes precious 15 seconds to scoop out the right amount every time. 😂😂 I still measure mine scoop by scoop. Just not in a percolator. We've got an automatic drip style now.

    I need an electric perculator with a timer or strength changer basically. I bought a perculator, I think it was the Presto one and it doesnt brew long enough to make good coffee. It just gets to boil and stops brewing. It wont be good unless it brews it for a few minutes or so. I dont know whats wrong with all these perculators but Ive literally only seen like 1 decent one on the market, that has a timer, so I bought that one and love it. WTF though? GOd all these other ones suck, or I dont know what Im doing wrong then.

    • @SouthernFoodJunkie
      @SouthernFoodJunkie  8 місяців тому

      The older ones seems to run about 10 minutes and makes good strong coffee. You could buy a stove top model and that way you can run it as long as you wish. I have one that I take camping that is a stove top one.

    • @SouthernFoodJunkie
      @SouthernFoodJunkie  Рік тому +1

      This particular model shuts off after it perks for a certain amount of time. Older types like a stove top one it would be trail and error. Watch the time and test it. Once it got to your liking, just run it for that amount of time each time.
