I love this set up- I have a Portabote 10..a Torqeedo 1003- i plan to fish Bayou Texar this summer- I live in Pensacola too! BTW- That motor sounds so nice too!!
I have a 58 18 hp and a 59 15hp and a 56 10hp, plus a few Eskas and larger Evinrude and Johnsons. These are great little motors. Thanks for watching and commenting!! I haven’t done an outboard video in a good while. I need to go pull them out, and run them, it’s just been so blooming hot!!!
@@RealWorldGarage She is for sure. You'll love the 10. I have a bunch of them. I have a 56 Fleetwin in the queue for this winter. I hope it's as nice a runner as your 55.👍
This is exactly the combo I'm trying to pull off. I have the '57 fleetwin and I think we have the same generation porta-bote still with the wooden transom. I was about to test run it on the water the other day but the motor didn't fit! I still have the original transom where you flip the wooden motor mount over the back of the porta-bote. I wasn't able to turn it at all because it hit the sides of the slot. Good to know it can support the weight of the motor tho. Did you build a custom transom, doesn't look like the original one. Thanks for posting this video, it's probably as close as I'll to experiencing it for now since it's starting to get cold now and i still need to adjust the transom.
Thanks for watching. It’s my dads boat. It’s a very snug fit when I put it on. He’s got a user name on UA-cam. He doesn’t post videos, but I can have him comment on the transom, he’ll know more than me. I don’t want to give you bad information. Cheers
Yes the transom is modified ,,Has a piece of angle iron from side to side,,,I will try to get a picture and ask if it can be added to the video..still needs a little adjusting but works good...Best Regards
Can you put that boat together by yourself? Do they last? Approx how much for your model? Can you paddle it smoothly? If hit by a wave on either side will it stand the abuse? Saltwater friendly?
Sorry for the delayed reply. The boat comes assembled you only need to install the supports seats and transom. When don’t disassemble and fold it back up: I think we paid $1000 used. The hull has a 10 mfg warranty or should I say they used to, you’d have to research that with the company. Paddling is ok, they make a set of oars you can attach to the sides. It does well in rough seas for a small boat. Salt water doesn’t effect it. Just wash it when you get home and dry it out before you put it away.
Don Baxley not really. I probably need to do one of those. I have a cold start on a 56 10hp evinrude, I haven’t finished editing yet. It was a barn find.
