The original U.S version of The Digimon Movie will always hold a special place in my heart for that killer soundtrack and hilarious dub comedy.
The Digimon Movie always bothered me as a kid because I grew up with the Neutral Spanish version of Digimon Adventure and 02 and the dub was pretty faithful to the original Japanese, but the movie's dub was based on the American version and that meant that despite having most of the original dub cast it had all of those added jokes, the kids were referred as the Digidestined instead of Chosen Children, etc. I wish we could get a more faithful dub of the original voices into Latin American Spanish

One of the most hype inducing weeks for Digimon fans in a long time, that’s for sure! Great caveat to mention the UK and European regional issues with blu ray releases like this. In Canada we’re under the “North America” blanket of region locking stuff so I don’t have to think about that. Hope all the digi pals across the pond can get these rereleases in their territories!

As the director of the new uncut movie dubs and a recent fan of your videos, it was cool to see you cover the news. :) I'm also sad the release will be just for the US, but licensing restrictions are what they are. Still, I'm very hopeful that non-US companies might license it and release it in other territories someday so that everyone who wants to see them can. I'm very proud of the work we did and I'd like the entire Digimon fandom to get to check it out someday if they want to!

Ditto. This killed any hype I could have had for the Dim. It's an easy place to put ClavisAngemon, considering both Clavis and Shakkoumon share design elements. So ruffling.
Veemon is practically the symbol of my childhood and seeing him animated like he is in the trailer is gonna be so awesome!

Tokyo Gameshow is coming up, and the trailers for Next Order's ports confirmed multiple games were in the works, all the way back in February, so I'd be surprised if we didn't see one, or even multiple Digimon games announced there in September.
Having Digimon the Movie in three different versions in a single product is really cool. That way everyone's happy.
It’s my understanding that Davis’s original English VA fully intended to return for Kizuna, but difficulties with his home recording studio meant he couldn’t, and they had to recast him for the sake of getting the movie out
I never been more happier that 02 cast will finally have bigger roles and spotlights they rightfully deserved after long ignored disregarded and forgotten in digimon adventure tri and small cameo in digimon last evolution now they will much importance and spotlight in new digimon adventure movie

As someone who has the ShineGreymon Amplified on my shelf, it was such a fun kit to build (excluding the tail because I've had frustrations with wires particularly when I built Machinedramon) and it looks really nice with his GeoGrey Sword. Still very excited for 02 The Beginning.
I'm happy for the 02 fans getting some new stuff. I always felt like 02 got more flak than it deserved, even if it wasn't my favourite.
I'm hoping that Tamers is next in line for a glow-up.
02 was my all time favorite. Ken was my favorite Digimon character hands down. I will have to wait for an 'abridged' version of the new movie though, if I want the same dumb humor from my childhood though.
I still rock the Fox Kids Digimon movie soundtrack on CD. It still works 23 years later almost no scratches.

As I understand it, Davis's voice actor was very much willing to reprise his role, but external circumstances made him unavailable to be available. This was in 2020 so COVID concerns are a possible factor. His stand in for Last Evolution was good, but we need our boy back.

Here in Spanish-speaking Latin America Davis and Angemon's original dub VA couldn't reprise his role because of certain things he did in the last two years that got him banned from almost all dubbing studios, so he was replaced by a new voice actor. Only Davis, Yolei and T.K had their dub voices replaced in Last Evolution's Neutral Spanish dub, Togemon as well but that's because her original VA passed away years ago. Agumon and Gomamon also got new voices because they were originally voiced by children back in Adventure, and technically Agumon's original VA was present in Kizuna as Matt

It was great to see you break down the recent Digimon news, Karn! I'll be looking out for those Digimon Adventure and Adventure 02 DVDs. That alternate version of the Digimon Movie sounds pretty interesting, too, so hopefully I'll be able to see it at some point, once it's available!
As well as the project seemingly going into some kind of a time travel element, or at least some expansion on the relationship of the Adventure Digidestined, which, to me, sounds pretty intriguing in premise.

What I read for Davis' VA missing was that he was having technical issues with his home recording studio and couldn't get them fixed before deadlines so he was recast.
Does anyone else ever wonder about the weird parallels between Digimon Kari and Kingdom Hearts Kairi. From almost matching design and weird powers they have that never get truly explained. For example DG Kari having strange supernatural psychic powers that never really get explained, but does get amplify by her Crest of Light. Which makes her a target by creatures of darkness, especially those from the dark ocean (Cthulhu home) which also never gets explained. Then there KH Kairi who a princess of heart, which we don't really know what that means for a person besides opening Hollow Bastion Keyhole. But we do see Kairi seemingly affected the world in ways she herself isn't aware of. For example: turning Sora back human from a heartless and even sensing him in his heartless form. Then there her tossing a bottle in the ocean that goes directly to Sora/Riku and opens a portal between the darkness and light. Which just like DG Kari, makes her a target for creatures of the dark(heartless, O13, Maleficent and her crew). I wonder who the next Kari/Kairi gonna be, because I'm seeing a trend involving that name.

All of this is mega exciting. As someone who got into Digimon via the Video Games, I was hoping for any video games news, but I guess I’ll wait until September and pray.
Also, as for the Manga winner, I would pop with excitement if the winning manga was about a 35 year old depressed salaryman/salarywoman who gains a Digimon partner and grows better as a person, showing that anyone can be a Digimon Tamer and even adults can grow and gain potential.
Otherwise, it is a good day to be a Digimon fan. Fingers crossed for Digimon World Trilogy ports and more info on the new Digimon Story game.

I haven't been looking too closely at the V-Bracelets, due to not knowing if they have an English language setting (or simply intuitive enough to muddle through), but the White & Red Dim has gained my interest.
Some of the DiM cards are in English, but I believe all the BE Memory cards are in Japanese. I'm really hoping the BE gets translations, but with as fast as they're being released and the number of limited runs, I have doubts.
I'm a Tamers boy, but always hype for anything Digimon.

I read the One-shot manga that are on the website, and I enjoy all of them, but my favorite is Digimon Variant and the one about the Tamer and her Lalamon.
Although I don't get why people where expecting game news on the DigiFes, as it mostly related only to Anime on most of the time.
This looks really cool. I'm happy Digimon is getting more traction the past several years. I'd like some more games like Cyber Sleuth and the gba Dawn/Dusk games

I think I speak for every single Digimon fan ever that all we ever needed is an expanded version of DMW1. maybe a few tweaks to the base game like more digivolutions/training methods and ofc, a bigger town to fill. Even just an extra 10-15 digimon to find would add so much to an already perfect nostalgic memory.

You know, I know I haven’t imported any of Discotek media’s releases yet (I fully intend to) but Madman Entertainment has released Digimon DVD sets and while I like some of the stuff they put out, a lot of their releases are barebones with no Japanese audio or even English Dub subtitles, no bonus features and use TV master tapes of the Digimon series (meaning the rating shows up in the intro) with some seriously lacking remastering.
I’m relieved to know Australia has a way to watch Digimon in good quality and given the love they deserve. I can import and I can take it over crappy releases. I know the Digimon Movie went out of print years ago on DVD in Australia so I’m really glad I finally have a means to watch the older short movies in a brand new dub and the Digimon movie I haven’t seen in years in high quality.
I feel like we’re in a Digimon revival era. Feels really good.

Nobody can replace Philece Sampler. I'm kinda bummed they had all this time to dub this and now that she's gone they now decide to do it. But better late than never. I can't even imagine who could replicate a voice like hers. I don't know anyone else who sounds like Mimi and the new voice actors sounded way off in Tri (like Joe & Gatomon's new voice actrors)

I’m pretty much in the same boat of waiting for that Digimon Story game, because that Digimon Source Code mobile game (which lets be honest, is probably going to be another china exclusive) just isn’t going to tide me over.
The uncut redone dub of this is the kind of thing ive been wanting ever since i first started enjoying the subs. Dub humor+english cast+sub soundtrack+more true to subs lore and story=my dream season of digimon.
I love the dub humor and english cast, the movie sound track is fun and all star is practically begging me to toss vintage shrek memes into any meme filled shitpost i upload to my channel but i honestly prefer the sub soundtrack and wish the dub kept slightly closer to the og vibes. Maybe a bit more serious at times. Not much tho.
Also wada koujis insert songs really make evolution scenes and battles feel truly next level epic. Gives me goosebumps whenever im watching a new series and a first time evo happens for a partnermon. I hear wada kouji or takayoshi tanamotos voice along with a fat guitar rip then my hair stands on end and i start jumping in my seat like a toddler. All over seeing a computer dino turn into a bigger computer dino for the first time. Straight up forced age regression and i love it.😂

As much as I love the super complete selection animation digivices, I really wish that they made localized versions based off of the ones from the English dub. That would make me so nostalgic, but they are still very cool. I would just love to be able to shout “Digi-Armor energize!” and have it activate

A stray thought came to me today that I’d like to see you do a video on, if you’re interested.
You know how we have Wizardmon and Sorcermon from Witchelny, right? It occured to me today that wizard and sorcerer are both D&D classes. I got to think8mg that none of the other classes have been used, and now I want to create a series of champion/adult digimon from Witchelny that are based on the other classes.

Barbarimon
Bardmon
Clericmon
Druidmon
Fightermon
Monkmon
Palidmon
Rangermon
Roguemon
Warlocmon
Then ultimate/perfect and mega/ultimate forms based on various subclasses.
Oh, and of course, the leader of of this proposed D&D inspired Witchelny would be the great and powerful Dungeonmon.
The rookie stage Gatomon has been a thing since the original D-3, if anything it's rookie Gatomon erasure. I mean they erased her so much you forgot she was already in a pet before now! As far as I know, besides the various D-3's, rookie Gatomon exists nowhere else. Well, except the new BE card, of course.
Hey Karn_EX loves your videos can’t wait for more. Here is a suggestion for a possible future video, you should do what if video game characters got digimon partners. For example, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Samus, Link, and etc. However not just Nintendo characters but other franchises as well like Kratos, Atreus, Master Chief, but most importantly you have to do Doom Slayer aka DoomGuy because you can give him the willis treatment. I will let you do your research
I kind of feel like the anime ALWAYS treats Gatomon as the rookie anyway. I mean even before 02 cause in the original anime Gatomon was always the default form she would revert back to just like the other Digimon partners would default back to their Rookies. Especially when compared to Patomon's evolution line Angemon and Angewoman are always paired together despite Angewoman being the Ultimate form not the Champion which means she's actually the same level as MagnaAngemon but those two are never paired together.
Anyway... personally I feel like Digimon the Movie worked as one cohesive story line already. It's always been weird to me that it's actually edited down from 3 entirely different movies. You'd think that would create a lot of plot holes with so many scenes being lost in the edited down version but I never felt like anything was really missing. Not going to lie though I am curious to see this new English Dub of the three movies as they were originally intended in Japan. Maybe I'll change my opinion of the American version.
I think the Lui Ohwada character is actually Sam Ichijouji (Ken's Older brother). They look closed to each other in design.
Either he didn't die or he got reborn and he is doing something to the because he wasn't chosen or a part of him was send back in time and he orchestrated obstructed something.
I believe Davis' og voice actor might come back for The Beginning since in the latest trailer for the movies redubs you can hear Davis' original voice again.
The Digimon Movie rerelease is a such a treat.
I was hoping for more BE dims than that but otherwise some cool stuff. What I would really like to see is a proper English translation of Seekers though. Or just straight up an announcement of a "collected lite novel" version. I found a great fan translation of Seekers and it actually makes me really excited reading it but I would _love_ something more.

I remember hearing somewhere that Brian was all set to reprise his role as Davis, but his home recording studio (cause pandemic) ended up not working and he couldn't get it fixed in time to record.
02 was good, I liked watching it and I have nothing against anyone who likes it, but this puts us 1 step closer to a digimon tamers remake/sequel/ more content.

I'm hopeful for Bandai to expound on the current lore of digimon and filling more gaps between the existing digimon evolutions! I've always felt the spotlight shifted too quickly and many opportunities were wasted. They had more of a focus on quantity than quality of storytelling lately. But this whole focus on the Olympus 12 is definitely getting me hyped! I want to see more international partners with their digimon like you did in your last video! And I'm very much hopeful for more narratives that show a digimon's or digimons' natural digivolution journey without a partner, like a digimon shounen story without humans. That would be a chance to flesh out some digimon world lore as well. :)
I think that all this information is very interesting and I’m hoping for Digimon Ghost games to get a dubb maybe sometime.
I already knew that the minute I found out that season 2 was finally getting a movie that I'm like yep I'm pretty sure a certain somebody is happy that season 2 is getting some recognition again. And while I guess it's fine I do wish that we're gonna be done with the season 1 and 2 constant callbacks and going back to these 2 seasons. Basically what I'm saying is I want something new to come from the series rather than constantly harking back to season one and even sometimes season 2. And I mean something good new not like ghost game. But for everyone who's happy that season 2 is getting a movie, good for you guys!

Finally a patamon dim!!! I wish it was his own solo dim so it could have angelmon. But I don’t care I haven’t gotten a vital bracelet until they were releasing a patamon dim so I’ll take this!
Months ago, when I first heard about Adventure 02 coming back, I was hoping it was going to be a new series, like with Adventure 01. When I learned that it will be a movie set after those events, I'm a little disappointed. But I'm still hyped about more Digimon.
My 12 year old randomly asked to restart season 1 last night. I let her stay up past midnight watching it just because.. I think we all get it

I'm excited for the movie. A dub of the three movies, not just the fused movie, is huge for me.

I would like to see a digital version of the digimon card game with all the cards from original artwork to current artwork.
