I love shopping at thrift and charity shops. I'm somewhat short and have an hourglass figure. I find so many skirts and such that I wear nearly year round. I even found a vintage skirt from the late 70s or early 80s. It has pockets that can hold my phone and it hits just below my knees. Perfect deep jewel toned teal, blue, and purple paisley.
This one is a stand out for all the right reasons! It’s casual, yet dressed up. Cool and chic without looking like you are trying too hard, and ultimately it is just fun and functional
The jacket really helped to balance out the dark and light tones imo! I wonder if a darker turtleneck underneath or some black jewelry could've had a similar effect. 🤔 I think what also might work well as a little more of a statement is having that light top, but with some black buttons to really tie it in with the rest. Great work, it's always lovely to see other people's visions come to life! :)
what ankle scrunch? like joggers? well, you can always pair it with combat shoes... cargo pants are heavy looking , you dont have to pair every cargo with combat ... search up "flywithjohnnythai" here in YT , he made a video about baggy/cargo pants
For me, as a woman, it's funnily the opposite, I buy what fits everywhere else and then have the waist tailored. Because most stores only create pants for rectangular body shapes and never hourglass ones.

I am cis but have this problem too. I think anything with elastic waistband make hips look bigger because of the extra fabric. Avoid that. Use dark colors pants in slim or straight fit. Light color pants work if you also using a jacket to add volume in upper body.
Consider higher waisted pants, especially something like a cummerbund or gurkha style pant. Hides my wide hips like a charm. Depending on where your curves lie, a looser and broader cut in places like your shoulders and thighs can help too. Hope this helps.

get yourself some linen! you can get linen shirts and structured pants that work the same as cotton would but much better for warm weather

You could use guayabera as Cubans and Puerto Ricans traditionally do.
