- selfmade clip - enjoy it!. Song from the Heartbreaker album!
Free were an English rock band, formed in London in 1968, best known for their signature song "All Right Now". Lead singer Paul Rodgers went on to become lead singer of the rock band Bad Company along with Simon Kirke on drums. Lead guitarist Paul Kossoff died from a drug-induced heart failure at the age of 25 in 1976.
The band was famed for its sensational live shows and nonstop touring. However, early studio albums did not sell very well until the release of Fire and Water which featured the massive hit "All Right Now". This album brought them to full status as one of the top rock bands of the 1960s70s. The song helped secure them a place at the huge Isle of Wight Festival 1970 where they played to 600,000 people.
By the early 1970s, Free was one of the biggest-selling British blues-rock groups; by the time the band dissolved in 1973, they had achieved an uncanny level of superstar success: selling more than 20 million albums around the world and had played more than 700 arena and festival concerts. "All Right Now," remains a rock staple, and has been entered into ASCAP's "One Million" airplay singles club.
lyrics:
Take off your hat
Kick off your shoes,
I know you ain't going anywhere.
Run 'round the town
Singing your blues
I know you ain't going anywhere.
You have always been
A good friend of mine
But you're always saying farewell
And the only time that you are satisfied
Is with your feet in the wishing well.
Throw down your gun
You might shoot yourself,
Or is that what you are tryin' to do,
Put up a fight
You believe to be right
And someday the sun will shine through.
You have always got
Something to hide
Something you just can't tell
And the only time that you are satisfied
Is with your feet in the wishing well.
Oh!
But I know what you're wishing for
Love and a peaceful world
Yeah
Love and a peaceful world
Oh! Yeah
Love and a peaceful world
You have always been
A good friend of mine
But you're always saying farewell
And the only time that you are satisfied
Is with your feet in the wishing....well.
Yes
I wish you well
I wish you well
Everybody has a wish
Everybody has a dream
I wish you well. - Фільми й анімація
Rod Stewart once said (at his peak) that Paul Rodgers was the only vocalist he wouldn’t follow on stage. For me and for many others in the 70’s Rodgers was head and shoulders above anyone else. The degree of feeling he put into that rasping vocal was amazing. And let’s not forget Free were the classic four piece band that was made up guitar, bass, drums and a few Marshall stacks and a vocalist with none of the high tech computerised embellishments, including pitch correction, that turns a tone deaf vocalist into someone who thinks they can sing. The 70’s was an amazing time for music and I’m so glad I was a part of it.
We had the best music EVER, AND BEST BANDS.
Influenced Bon scott and many more.
Absolutely 💯
No doubt about it 😜
Paul Rodgers in his prime was far superior to Stewart
My generation had and will ALWAYS have the best music EVER!
Proper music from an era when rock was king , glory days . Whats happened to the stuff that passes for music now . Listen to this and weep .
Bloody love this song, in my opinion the best song that Free ever did!!!
Total true, Amanda, but this band was just SUPERB.
That was 70s music at its best
Paul Rogers as never lost his voice over the years he gets better as he gets older what a voice 😮
Love and a Peaceful world, yes indeed Workers of all lands unite.
Still fantastic!
Hard to believe I first heard this when I was 12 yo! I liked it then and I like it now 48 years later. Nothing new compares!
wow, cant believe i had forgotten this one. 67 yrs. old . brings back lots of memories.
I am satisfied when folk get me and I get them. AND THEY SHOW UP! PAUL RODGERS AND FREE I ADORE YOU!! ❤
God Im glad I was around at that time. Music at its best.
I forgot how good this song was and still is.
SUPERB.
After losing all my records, tapes and cd's, this was the first song I bought on google play music
Free were the pioneers of blues rock in the UK, and what a lot of people forget is that they were so incredibly young, and yet so damn good!
Paul Rodgers has no equal when it comes to lead vocals, and the proof is that he is currently still going strong in his seventies!
Paul Kossoff was already one of the top rock guitarists in his early twenties, and unfortunately succumbed to drugs in his mid-twenties. Andy Fraser joined Free as the bassist when only 15, unbelievable!!!! Simon Kirke in his prime was a beast on the drums.
Truly, an iconic band, ahead of their time!
So f***ing criminally and unjustly under rated.
Even back then Paul Rogers was the best male rock singer on earth.
“Wishing Well is one of Free’s best song of all times don’t you think?”
One hell of a band mate, very very sadly missed
Paul Rogers can still light up a crowd..I danced with a WAF to All Right Now..So long..lolol..She left to throw up!! Lolol
@Malcolm Lee Watch the Grenada TV show and listen to Mr.Big the guitar solo
F....great sound and so well played .
Goosebumps just while I' m writing this.
You are 100% right!
Absolutely
PAUL KOSSOFF WAS ONE GREAT LEAD GUITARIST LEFT US TO EARLY FREE GREAT, GREAT BAND ALL EXCELLENT CLASS.
Still is ❤
1972 or 1973, , what a great song, was just 13!
What happened to music this era has never been bettered
Indeed 👍
Fire and Water. Class album!
Love and a peaceful world...wouldn't that be nice?
There are generations of people out there that have NO IDEA about music this good! So many great bands in the 60-70's. Music this good was everywhere!
Best times ever!!!
Music was written by bands, not producers...
Days VERY VERY SADLY MISSED 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Rock music as it was meant to be, raw classic entertainment which today’s musical generation cannot understand. No streaming no online no 24 7 music get when you could with little airtime
@@ollieboy266 totally agree
Wow a true classic. Paul Rodgers...the ultimate rock voice!
This band set a standard that other's could not reach, They are hugely underrated and their songs were and still are some of the very best from a fantastic period in music.

@@rantromse2051 Your talking about totally different musicians Ran, Clapton, Bruce, Baker were all special people that's why they were called CREAM mate.
Don't forget to add Paul Kossoff to the underrated
Fantastic music!!! Bad Company my 2and favourite band to Queen
@@rantromse2051 Completely different type of band
MAN, WE NEED PAUL MORE THAN EVER.🤘
This is 50 years old and it still sounds good now and will do in 50 years time
Love Free, Love Bad Company, even more. Rodgers is incomparable and Kirke, Ralphs, and Boz are very underrated. This is my favorite Free song. Just kicks ass.
NOTHING BEATS IT, SIMPLY SUPREME.
2021.anyone still listen to this masterpiece.😜😜

One of the best rock bands ever.
Great tune! Love Paul Rodgers voice!
One of my favourite numbers of FREE👍🏽👌
I am so surprised there's not more people commenting on "Wishing Well" and how Paul has stood the test of time with his voice. In my opinion this is The best "Free" song out of all of their collection.
JUST SUPERB.
Paul Rodgers still sounds the same today as he did way back then ❤️
I love ❤️ 🎉this song ❤️ 🎵 it's absolutely amazing 🎉🎉. They just seriously don't make music like this anymore 🎉🎉. I'm so blessed that I grew up with this type of music 🎶 🎵 when it had sound, heart, and meaning ❤️ ♥️
The music was fantastic back than I'm glad i was a child of 60s and teen of the 70s great times wish i could go back to those happy times and memories
I was as well Carol great times not like crap the teenagers listen to today.
Me too gosh it was fabulous, didn't have an awful lot but times were great. 😊😊😊😊🐱🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Oh Carol me as well I would pay millions to go back 😢😢😢😢😢
I agree all the way the best bands were from uk
Just get your head around the two Crawler albums. That'll take you back to when bands were bands. Fabulous musicians.
Love and a PEACEFUL WORLD!!!
I once had a Wishing Well in my Listed Thatch Cottage in Verwood. I so wish my darlings Daffodil, Rosy, Snowy, Chloe, Daisy, Sparky and Joey well in Heaven graced with their wings of freedom xxxxxxx
Great video! Thank you! Love Paul Rodgers and Free'
Two words that reflect Free. Criminally Underrated. Rodgers and Kossoff were up there with the best. Briliant song .....
They were the best ever
So much underrated but not by proper music fans.
Absolutely. Saw 'em in Belgium, BEFORE they wrote All Right Now. Yes, I really AM that old 555 :-)
Andy Fraser was a very solid bass player too. Much like the later duo of Simon Kirke and Boz Burrell did for Bad Co., Simon and Andy locked into a steady, rolling rhythm that made Free the great band they were. Just listen to THIS track and see what I mean.
@Desiree Hall Later, 1969, Island Records tour with Jethro Tull headlining, Spooky Tooth, and some outfit called Clouds that never really made it.
Paul Rodgers rip,but foremost you gave me bundles of joy,and what's bitchen STILL DO
Even today, there are listeners who ONLY know FREE for Alright Now. This song JUST MIGHT be the best one the band released. Paul Rogers recently toured with another band and did a retrospective of FREE music. He STILL sounds in great voice. The OLD cliche applies: They DON'T make them like they used to. RIP Paul Kossoff, Andy Fraser.
Loved little bit off love and my brother jake as well mate
What a band !
Yup, I'm 60 now and had the privilege of growing up with this music. So many great memories
I'm 62, we had the BEST MUSIC BEST BANDS, and BEST DAYS
The beginning of a vocal Legend. When you listen to this listen to his most recent stuff and that voice is strong as ever Long Live Paul Rodgers!!!👏👍☝
BEST SINGER EVER !!
That's why Queen members chose him to replace the late great Freddie Mercury to tour Europe. ❤
This is Free's best song. It more than stands the test of time.
Certainly one of their best. For me, 'Come Together In The Morning', 'Be My Friend', 'Oh I Wept', 'Moonshine' and 'Soon I Will Be Gone' are even more wonderful.
Awesome..period
Paul Rodgers for ever!!
Love you so ,,,,, say no more
Do the lyrics refer to Paul Kossoff?
Beautiful Thank You for sharing
THIS STILL SOUNDS AWESOME TODAY.
THE BEST EVER.
So many great songs by Free, this is one of the best, but I'd have a real hard time picking a single best song. They were certainly a band that the world did not fully appreciate, greater than the fame they achieved..
The best band of the '70s... raw and beautiful!
Thank you very much, the song is brilliant.
Paul (Kossoff)'s father gave a talk at my school (Marlborough College, Wiltshire, England) after Paul's passing away, he was very opposed to the damage and waste recreational drugs do.
Paul's passing away was a very sad and tragic loss to all.
And to think they played songs like this on the radio...
Kids these days don't know what they're missing, I feel genuinely sorry for them.
Totally agree music this good finished a long time ago so very sad 😥😥😥
@@andymatthews7617 As the bumper sticker says, all the best songs have already been written & all the best cars have already been made...
The greatest Free song! Paul Rodgers rocks as The GOAT among rock singers.
Hello Joyce, How are you doing?
One of the best rock songs forever!
Their best song!
Blackfoot covered this song. It's incredible what an impact Free had on the southern rock bands. They were a huge influence on Skynyrd as well and so was Cream.
A song like Simple Man could have been created by Free
i am a free fan and i like their rock songs and their powerful vocal.
Loving the h3ll out of this song and great video to boot. Here we are in 2022 and this is my current ringtone. FREE FOR ME ALWAYS ! Thank you for posting it. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
When music was at it's best, love this classic by Free!
Free great britain Rock band..all time 🎸
Music this good should be worshipped forever ❤❤❤
Although those of us who grew up during these times are on our downward leg we still have our memories of great music produced by groups such as Free. I could name 20-30 great rock bands from that era. Today hard time thinking of 5.Probably the reason I’m half deaf, so much music to enjoy and just soooooooo much fun✌️😍❤️🤣🤪
I miss him, too. X. You Are still good friends. Love. Free. XXXX
Hello Jacqueline, How are you doing?
So synonymous of the 60 and 70s. Glad I lived through these eras. Crap you get now
Absolute class
One of rock’s great voices, amazing Paul Kossoff on guitar, brilliant bassist Andy Fraser-I felt a little bad for Simon Kirke-a fine drummer, sometimes overlooked with all of the talent around him. It’s a crime that Free wasn’t a monster band, but they left their mark where others have been forgotten.
Andy Fraser is not on this song or album . He had already left the band . Tetsu play bass on this , he later joined the Faces replacing Ronnie Lane .
Paul Rodgers has best rock voice ever. Love this song
madisonmosman was lucky to see Bad Co in Phoenix in May with my...in USA from UK...Paul Rogers is my absol dream....😊😊
touring w/ J Beck. i'll be there
madisonmosman agreed.

Amazing band, sadly music of this class doesn't happen these days. So privileged to have this legacy to listen to.
The BEST BAND EVER ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
VERY VERY SADLY MISSED 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Paul Rodgers still great in concert!
Yet another great band from way back when, probably the best era for rock! Classic and iconic song . They truly don't make 'em like this anymore, eh?
I would pay millions to go back 😢😢😢😢😢
Dee Dee if they do I must have been deaf for decades!
THE PURIST FORM OF MUSIC 🎶
The greatest yet most underrated song of the early seventies. Rock and soul blues baby!
Vorwärts ALTE GARDE wieder was für ❤️ und Sele
paul rodgers , what an incredible blues and rock vocalist
Paul Rodgers is the best frontman rock singer of all time he has that natural voice for blues rock pop music I wouldn't doubt he could even sing funk music as well.🎤
The original blue eyed soul voice
I am sure he sounds great in the shower.
@@bertbarclona Absolutely spot on ! Miles better than the posing, preening Robert Plant. Plant was very lucky to be in a band with Page and Bonham.
É a versão do grupo Blackfoot.
one of the greatest songs in the golden rock age
By a LEGENDARY BAND ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Paul kossoff one of the best guitar player ever

Only Coverdale approaches Rodgers as the best British Rock vocalist ever.
Paul Kossoff, one of the greatest guitarist of all time. RIP, Mr. Kossoff.
Tbh, there were so many great bands back then that many were taken for granted.
If only we knew then what we had (NOT) to look forward to....
This band were the BEST by miles ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So sad and true,Pam
what a singer
Love free I want to go back to 70s😭
But to know what you know now lol.
CAN I GO WITH YOU, NOW.
One of the best bands ever to come out of the UK
Thankfully, I got to see them twice. Once, in a small venue and once in a larger arena. But, I did go on to see Bad Company at least 5 times. Good times. My whole life revolved around music and seeing the bands that made it. Young, dumb and; well, you know how it goes.
"Heartbreaker" - One of the best album ever! Not a weak song on the whole album.
42 years ago, I used to go to the True Briton pub and put this on the Jukebox every time, it so annoyed the locals
Great song!
This is one of my favourite songs & Koss is one of my favourite guitarists: great phrasing & lovely Les Paul-Marshall tones. Free must be the quintessential classic rock band. Brilliant.
damn...so amazingly good,even after 40+ years.....
and it will still sound good in another 40
This band was just GREAT.all the players so good.one of the best bands ever. Did you hear me ever.☮✝💝FREE Fever
@@perrymitchell7591 A VASTLY UNDER RATED BAND ..
So damn good and easy to hear how big an influence they were on Lynyrd Skynyrd's music.
I think you may mean Black Foot, who did a couple of Free songs..
Agreed, Gary Rossington had seen them live in Jacksonville, ('70 or '71?) and was floored by Kossoff. The two bands styles are similar.
Yea Ronnie loved Free as well. Listen to Free’s song Woman and Skynyrd‘s song Cheatin’ Woman quite similar in my opinion just different ends of the love spectrum.
Big influence on Cry Of Love as well.
No, he meant Lynyrd Skynyrd. Correct and right. Gary Rossington has mentioned the influence Free had on himself and the lads in Skynyrd in numerous printed interviews. Doesn't take cover versions to prove that.
There are so many elements to this that are just right. The song itself is great to start with. Add in the musicianship - each instrument come through so impressively, Paul’s stellar vocals, the little interesting bits throughout - Wow. Every second of it is brilliant!
UNBEATABLE ❤️❤️❤️❤️
"The little interesting bits throughout" that is the best description of what makes Free's songs so great.
really this band was a myth in rock history ... Free is one of the best band ever . just to hear them take me always back in the golden age of sixties !!!
Days now very very sadly missed 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I've been a guitar player for 40+ years, and as fae back as I can remember I've played this song in every band I've ever been in. Blackfoot did a spectacular cover of this, and the original is as badass as their cover. I love this music, and I always will. In the immortal words of Neil Young, "Rock and Roll will never die"...
FREE were and still are the NUMBER ONE BAND
This song was played at San Francisco Bay Area jam sessions, and I began playing it on my own nights out there. It's a beautiful song.
This is exactly what local Aussie radio plays here sometimes, especially as part of a Saturday night non-stop-commercial-free deal. Great song.
this is exactly what austrian local radios NEVER play...what a pity!
This is what you call music!!!!
But it's not what you would call a good video. Maybe the author could have used a few more gimmicky transitions and visual effects.
hehe ya one or two more mighta done it.. cmon man its about the music..
+Sammi Curr
Yes, but it's UA-cam. You know - VISUAL. I have the record, I would like to SEE the band, minus all the cheese.
Now I know why I love bad company this is what started it all started with this amazing band Free
