For someone who grew up with this show I rewatched the intro and credits and it was hard for me to not cry because I personally enjoyed the show growing up and I miss it. Thank you CBeebies for the memories. :)
I actually grew up with both versions. Sometimes it was the older one (for some reason back in 2007) and sometimes it was the newer version of the intro. The older one though is the one I remember. But both are fine.
I'm crying. I could only remember the very first part of the song. I thought it was 64 64 64 today. It's zoo lane. For years I thought it was something else and I might have made it up. I found the song.
you know what i could care less ab the animation style or any of that i just miss being a kid so much i truly understand our parents now when they say they miss the way things used to be produced and just in general
This is the show that i've remember watching the most on CBeebies as a little kid, i think i've used to watch both versions growing up. I really don't mind the 2010s reboot at when it comes to the plot and storyline that stays faithful to the original by continuing where it left off except for the animation, but i'm just glad that it just kept the voices of most of the characters (aside from Lucy) rather than recasting them.
For some reason it took the drunk me to think of and research to find this show name, it makes me so sad thinking of the past when things were simple, i was a kid, innocent and my best friend was still alive, it brings tears to my eyes to briefly relive the simple times.. im so glad i was finally able to find this show again! (Im drunk rn but when i wake up tomorrow it will be another range of emotions). Thank you for this upload and have a great life ❤
I remember seeing it on Nick Jr (or noggin i'm not sure) as a kid I liked it and when i saw her slide on the giraffe neck yeah I prefer the superior animation also I didn't see any bison in the intro when I was a kid
As much as I personally think that the 2010 version's shadows and smoother animation does help it, the original 1999 version does have slightly more detailed backgrounds and some more effort put into it. In my own personal opinion, they aren't superior to each other. They are both brilliant in different ways, animation and design-wise, it's mainly because of certain characters only appearing in certain episodes of the series that resulted in these different versions (which may also be sad but great at the same time). I only ever saw the 2010 version growing up (as the original episodes were almost toward the end of initial airings when I was born)
@@Arkensius1157 NGL My older sister loved this show, but grew up with the old one. I could hardly remember the intro by 2021, only '64 64 64 zoo lane' 😅😅

64 Zoo Lane (1999-2000) (Superior Animation) in the American version of the American program on Fox Family (During It's Itsy Bitsy Time), Noggin and Universal Kids for the first and the second seasons.
While I will agree that the animation in the newer intro is pretty bad, I like how they tried updating the animals featured for some scenes (like the goat at 0:50 being replaced by a herd of buffalos in the newer one.) It shows they at least tried to add new stuff instead of just remaking the original.
I honestly like the art style/animation of the original more than the 2010s modernish style. I also liked Lucy's og voice cause it was really soft (nothing against the other VA, she did her best to voice Lucy). Either way, I still like the stories from 1999-2003 and 2010-2013.
man why does this make me sad ;-; never gonna be a kid again also idk why you have to be so negative, the "newer" one was barely any different, it's odd that you have such a strong brutal opinion like that. its cute and wholesome either way :D
Jeez yeah computers have really made simple animations look horrible. There are some technical details here and there that I couldn’t help noticing, but doing a whole analysis on the introduction of a cartoon is a little bit of a stretch. All you really need to know is that the 1999 version of the cartoon was hand-drawn, and the 2010 version uses a mixture of vector-based and computer-drawn elements. The two versions also have different aspect ratios, 4:3 for the 1999 version (which made it easier to animate things on paper), 16:9 widescreen for the 2010 (to add more elements to the frame of the animation, but at the cost of having to remove minor details). Basically, you can see how crappy the animation is in the newer version due to how much higher definition it is and how they probably had to move on to different methods to efficiently animate the show
@cbsboy, I like both versions to be honest, Oh and don't worry about those people who just you for YOUR OWN opinions about what you like, I enjoy all kinds of kids content and literally just graduated high school a month ago. You see, whether you're a teenager or adult, your childhood sticks with you.

I adored 64 Zoo Lane growing up.
Although I prefer the 90s one, compared to most remakes of classic shows at the time, this is surprisingly faithful
1999-2003 is more nostalgic to me, as it brings back memories of CBeebies around the mid-late 2000s
