This song makes me envision Top Man as a Deidara kind of character. A character who is cocky, arrogant, and so confident in his abilities that he thinks of himself as indestructible. I love it and this perfectly displays his mug shot from MM3.
Sometimes the Megas take a robot master and give them an amazing feel that makes me reconsider their whole character, sometimes they let how awesome the original song is stand on its own and simply bring out the rock in rockman. Sometimes Can't Stop the Top happens and we get both.
The theme of Topman is because he's a super-star in the carnival, despite being made by Willy, people flock into his carnivals and he uses the money to buy the foes you deal with in his stage.
I love how these songs play up the Robot Masters because we never really get to see them being badass before Megaman beats their asses. They must have been good at what they do for a good bit before Megaman took them out.

What's even dumberer is that apparently Top Man gets motion sick if he goes at it for too long as well. And that actually makes sense and keeps with the second part of the challenge, good going.

Instead of talking to Mega Man, he raises an arm Mega Man raises his Buster as a reflex, but suddenly the lights pop on. He's standing in a smooth, bowl-shaped arena surrounded by dozens of Wily-Bots in the stands. Top Man strikes a pose, then immediately jets off on his skates, gathering speed using the curves of the arena. Mega Man shoots, testing out the capabilities of his opponent, but they don't even come close to Top Man, who uses his speed and agility to dodge easily. He fires a few return blasts, three of them, to be exact. However, it feels like they're coming from completely different angles, and Mega Man barely has the chance to dive out of the way. A shadow covers Mega Man's face as he looks up... Top Man has dashed towards him and leaped high in the air, spinning extremely fast. Another volley of angled shots streaks towards the blue hero, this time striking him directly and lifting him from his feet. Top Man lands gracefully, to the cheers of the bots in the stands. Mega Man fires at him while his back is turned, but the first two blasts seem to slide off Top Man's curving form as he rotates. He gives Mega Man a cocky smirk over one shoulder... and then the third blast hits his face, sending him flailing for a moment. Top Man snarls and tries to regain speed for another assault on the blue bomber, but Mega Man is ready this time. He fires at the ground far ahead of Top Man, creating potholes and debris that will slow down his wheeled feet. Top Man, unable to deviate from his dance routine, stumbles and is given three direct hits from the Buster for his inflexibility. Desperate, he attempts to finish his attack program, leaping high at Mega Man... but he isn't nearly as fast, his legs are damaged, and he isn't spinning anymore. The final Volley rings out in silence as Top Man breaks apart. I wish I was an animator. I would totally make a scene out of several of the Megas' songs, because I can just feel what the energy and flow would be like. Not all of them work, but most of Get Equipped and a fair amount of History Repeating is just fine for it, and it frustrates me that I can't use more than words to show what is in my head.

I've always thought these songs, just down to the music are perfect, like you can just picture MegaMan running, with pictures of light and such flying over the screen. Little montage moments of self reflection, blowing up enemy bots and such. Down to the spotlight on megaman as he's staring in the mirror shouting, one last time!

Cossack, and I think MM8 and/or 9 were also twisted out of their original purpose by Willy. Even evil geniuses sometimes lack inspiration ^^

Functions? I don't think the manual for the DOS games ever gave them any, but for Sonic and Shark Man I can easily see them being designed for underwater exploration and research. As for Bit Man, based on attack type and location, I could guess he originally was designed to manage the electrical generators for oil rigs. Oil rigs require them to run machinery after all.

Mega Man 4's were modified to destroy Mega Man. They were originally for other stuff. Mega Man 9's were reprogrammed. Gamma, the final boss from 3, was originally a peacekeeping robot. The robot masters from 6 were from around the world, and were reprogrammed to destroy Rock. The masters from 10 were normal robots, but were infected with roboenza. I'm sure I've missed some.
The original 8 robots (Rock, Roll, Iceman, Fireman, Elecman, Bombman, Cutman, and Gutsman) were intended to help. Iceman was for arctic research, fireman to control the smelting fabric, elecman to control the reactors, bombman to clear land, cutman to cut forests, and gutsman was (I think) used for heavy construction. Everything beyond those were made with the main purpose of simply destroying Rock.

I'm really disappointed they didn't use a tremelo arm for certain parts on the guitar, but aside from that, I can listen to this all day. So friggin' awesome.
Probably a similar role to Needle Man. Hard Man does weigh a couple tons, is made of one of the toughest alloys in Megaman canon, and can be considered alongside his fists as a missile. All that mass moving at a high speed would certainly be effective at wrecking stone.
"Game Over" also has a pretty awesome version of this song, think you can find them now on OCremix. I'm used to the other one, but this is also cool. "Cataclysmic clash" is the name of the song I think.

Well, apparently when Mega Man kills them, he leaves their circuit chip brain thing intact, so they can be recreated. I think this was introduced in Powered Up, but it still stands. I'm guessing he defeats a robot master, Wily rebuilds them, boss rush and Mega Man finally decides to take the chip.
A lot of the robots you fight in the series from Mega Man 2 onward were actually built by Dr. Wily for the sole purpose of furthering his world domination, however Ice Man and Splash Woman were built by Dr. Light. Ice Man was built to explore arctic and antarctic areas, and I don't know if Splash Woman has been given an official purpose, but I assume it would be to help sailors that are stranded at sea or something.
Well, he and all the other robots from Mega Man 3 (Except Shadow Man) were designed to mine rare crystals that could power Gamma. I guess you could say he was designed to smelt ore or something in the most weirdly efficient (since his lasers bounce off of crystal), but inefficient (making a furnace robot would be more logical) ways to get at them

Splash Woman was actually designed to search for and rescue people lost at sea, and Snake Man was actually designed to chart geographic features and locations for minerals courtesy of his ability to get into very narrow spaces. I listen to this song every day at work,, always cheers me up in those long ending hours of the day
Mega Man 4's were modified to destroy Mega Man. They were originally for other stuff. Mega Man 9's were reprogrammed. Gamma, the final boss from 3, was originally a peacekeeping robot. The robot masters from 6 were from around the world, and were reprogrammed to destroy Rock. The masters from 10 were normal robots, but were infected with roboenza.
I'm sure I've missed some.

I never said he kills them "for good." I just assumed he takes the chip, and Light rebuilds the robot masters.
The original 8 robots (Rock, Roll, Iceman, Fireman, Elecman, Bombman, Cutman, and Gutsman) were intended to help. Iceman was for arctic research, fireman to control the smelting fabric, elecman to control the reactors, bombman to clear land, cutman to cut forests, and gutsman was (I think) used for heavy construction. Everything beyond those were made with the main purpose of simply destroying Rock.

Probably a similar role to Needle Man. Hard Man does weigh a couple tons, is made of one of the toughest alloys in Megaman canon, and can be considered alongside his fists as a missile. All that mass moving at a high speed would certainly be effective at wrecking stone.
"Game Over" also has a pretty awesome version of this song, think you can find them now on OCremix. I'm used to the other one, but this is also cool. "Cataclysmic clash" is the name of the song I think.

Well, apparently when Mega Man kills them, he leaves their circuit chip brain thing intact, so they can be recreated. I think this was introduced in Powered Up, but it still stands.
I'm guessing he defeats a robot master, Wily rebuilds them, boss rush and Mega Man finally decides to take the chip.
If magnetman and topman were to fight, topman would win because you cant stop the top but they would NEVER fight because you dont mess with magnetman

A lot of the robots you fight in the series from Mega Man 2 onward were actually built by Dr. Wily for the sole purpose of furthering his world domination, however Ice Man and Splash Woman were built by Dr. Light. Ice Man was built to explore arctic and antarctic areas, and I don't know if Splash Woman has been given an official purpose, but I assume it would be to help sailors that are stranded at sea or something.

Well, he and all the other robots from Mega Man 3 (Except Shadow Man) were designed to mine rare crystals that could power Gamma. I guess you could say he was designed to smelt ore or something in the most weirdly efficient (since his lasers bounce off of crystal), but inefficient (making a furnace robot would be more logical) ways to get at them

Corrections on Splash Woman and Snake Man. Splash Woman was actually designed to search for and rescue people lost at sea, and Snake Man was actually designed to chart geographic features and locations for minerals courtesy of his ability to get into very narrow spaces.
But for sake of hilarity, what would Top Man be used for? I'm asking because all the Mega Man 3 robots (sans Shadow Man) are supposed to have something to due with mining.
