I think David Bowie would love the way this song is being used now. Even if it's only for a short term internet meme, it's genuinely one of the greatest memes we can get. Superman was created for those in tough times, and even though people of the past had it worse, we dont appear to have much to look foreward to, so its nice to have a reminder that the inherent beauty of the human spirit will never be lost

Heard this song first in one of my classes cause my teacher loved to play classic rock music whenever we had free time. I dated a girl for eight years, but we broke up almost a year ago. We're still close, but there's a reason I bring this up and how it give significance to the name of "Starman" to me. It was a tough eight years, and not romantically. She suffered from some pretty deep depression, but I opened them up and we dated. I fought with her against it, I usually compare depression to a war in the mind. I managed to pull them through and they are doing wonderful! I just miss them a bit still, as the split caused a war in my mind... and I won with the weapons I used in her battles.
Due to her and my strangly active imagination, I tend to see an angel in myself, and this song's overall vibe was enough for me to fall in love with it. I eventually took in the name as an online alias. In ahort, this song, although barely related, reminds me of my shining achievements. I'm proud of myself... and I love it! 💚

A couple months ago, I was watching the nickelodeon kids choice Awards when the ads came on. After a couple of normal ads, the Lightyear trailer came on and this song started playing. I knew I knew it from somewhere, I just knew that voice. I couldn't figure it out so I looked it up, and this was it. I was so surprised it was David Bowie. I hadn't listened to his music in years, and this song is what got me back into him. Now, I'm one of the biggest Bowie fans. Thank you Bowie.
